1. WATER COOLERS - 300-500 - 800-1000 l MODELS GENERAL INFORMATION The appliances are water coolers with stainless steel accumulation tank equipped with a double layer of expanded polyurethane foam condensation-proof insulation (approx. 30 mm total thickness). The water is refrigerated by means of an evaporator coil made of stainless steel. The refrigerant circuit is generously sized and equipped with a particularly heavy duty condenser, therefore guaranteeing excellent performance even in conditions of high ambient temperature. The tank is equipped with maximum level and minimum level float type sensors. The water supply is controlled by a solenoid valve while the supply is interrupted by intervention of the maximum level sensor, which, in the 300 litre model, generates a grant for startup of the refrigeration system. On the contrary, the refrigeration system operates independently of the water level and maximum level sensor in the 500, 800 and 1000 litre models. The minimum level sensor stops the pump when the tank is empty (pump protection system). All the models are equipped with a chilled water supply pump made of non-toxic bronze and stainless steel. The condenser is located at the top of the appliance and can be supplied for remote installation on request. Uniform water temperature in the tank is ensured by a recirculator pump. A safety thermostat disconnects the appliance when the temperature reaches + 1, thus preventing the formation of ice and the return of liquid to the compressor. Temperature control is by means of a high precision digital remote thermometer-thermostat, adjustable in 1 C steps. Power supply for all models: 380V/3ph/50 Hz. STANDARD OUTFIT 1) Water supply hose 2) Hose connector for drain line 3) The materials in the appliance outfit are stowed inside the condenser unit for shipment. 13
2. INSTALLATION THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES MUST BE PERFORMED BY A LICENSED INSTALLER When choosing the place of installation, consider the following requirements: a) Ambient temperature must never exceed the range +5 C to +40 C. b) The water supply pressure must be no lower than 1 Atm (14 Psi) and no higher than 5 Atm (70 Psi). If the water pressure exceeds 5 Atm install a pressure regulator unit. c) The condenser must be well away from heat sources and in a well ventilated position. Leave at least 20 cm clearance from all adjacent walls. IMPORTANT The following work is to be performed by the client at its own expense and under its own responsibility: 1) Provision of an electrical power circuit in compliance with established legislation (properly earthed, sized, etc.) with a dedicated thermal-magnetic CB and rated in accordance with the power absorption of the plant. The electrical power feeding circuit must incorporate a residual current circuit breaker. 2) Provision of water supply and drain connection points as shown in figure...: a) Water supply pipe with shut-off cock and cartridge filter. b) Drain overflow with stench trap, diameter as per drawing. IMPORTANT Before starting up the appliance: 1) Check that the direction of rotation of the fans is such that the air is drawn in from the front and expelled from the rear. 2) Do not set temperatures lower than +3 C on the remote digital thermostat. 3) The 500-800 and 1000 litre models must not be operated when the tank is less than half full (refer to the graduated scale). 4) Ensure that the pump impeller is free-running (prolonged disuse can lead to seizing due to lime scale residues). To access the pump, remove the lh side panel by unscrewing the screws in the front and rear panels and in the lh side panel. 14

Note that the minimum and maximum pressure switch reset buttons must be returned to their normal position. PRG mute SEL 7 1 2 6 4 5 3 aux START-UP: When the appliance has been connected to the water and electricity supplies: 1) Set the main power switch to ON (the switch is located centrally towards the bottom of the control panel). 2) Using the remote digital thermostat, preset the required water temperature as follows: OPERATION: during normal operation the value measured by the ambient sensor is displayed. During alarm conditions the temperature display alternates with the alarm code. SET-POINT: Press SEL momentarily to display the setpoint value; After a few seconds the displayed value will start to flash; Increase or decrease the value as required using the UP or DOWN aux keys Press SEL again to confirm the new value. 3) Press pushbutton (4) (START) to start the pump and draw water from the tank. 4) Press pushbutton (5) (STOP) to stop the pump. If you wish to use the appliance with a mixer/batcher: The two-core connection cable must be connected to the batcher-mixer terminals. YOU MUST REQUEST THE ASSISTANCE OF A LICENSED TECHNICAL TO SOLVE THE FOLLOWING FAULTS: 1. CONTROL PANEL NOT WORKING 2. COMPRESSOR DOES NOT START 3. REMOTE THERMOSTAT NOT FUNCTIONING 4. PUMP BREAKDOWN 5. ALL OTHER CASES OF OPERATIONAL FAULTS 18
5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES MUST BE PERFORMED BY A LICENSED INSTALLER Before performing cleaning or maintenance work ensure the electrical supply is disconnected. CLEANING THE CONDENSER 1) The accumulation of dust on the front area of the condenser reduces the efficiency of the refrigeration circuit. The condenser should therefore be regularly cleaned using a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner. 2) Check the level of scale deposits on the cooling coil in the tank at least once a year. Scale can be removed using a citric acid/water solution. This precaution eliminates wastage of electricity and improves refrigeration efficiency. 3) If the appliance is to remain idle for a prolonged period, drain the water from the tank. 4) periodically clean the water filter cartridge (see fig. 16) 5) ATTENTION The condenser has sharp edges. Clean with brush or vacuum cleaner only. THIS OPERATION MUST BE PERFORMED WHEN THE APPLIANCE IS POWERED DOWN YOU MUST REQUEST THE ASSISTANCE OF A LICENSED TECHNICAL TO SOLVE THE FOLLOWING FAULTS 19
