AFC 22 024 2.4 Amend text accordingly and insert "opportunities for understanding and enjoying the special qualities" in the 5 th sentence of paragraph 2.4 AFC 23 026 2.12 Delete text and in Bala's instance relative lack of development constraints" in the last line of paragraph 2.12. This change is not significant enough to warrant a change in the assessment results. This change is not significant enough to warrant a change in the assessment results. Reinforcement of this issue which is covered throughout the SEA/SA. This does not affect the assessment of proposals at Bala or in the overall development strategy. 5

AFC 24 026 2.13 Insert the following text at the end of Para 2.13 Although Dolgellau has been designated as a primary settlement in the Wales Spatial Plan the plan does not imply that significant physical growth is expected to take place. Insert additional sentences in 2.13 Dolgellau has an important role as a hub for bus services including Government supported Traws Cambria Services. The town centre does have difficult problems with traffic related issues which need to be resolved. Dolgellau is important as a centre for agriculture and forestry industries and for the Welsh language and culture. Delete 4 th sentence Employment land has been allocated... AFC 25 027 2.14 Add reference to the potential for expansion of water-based tourism in the area centred around Bala, its importance as the centre of a predominantly Welshspeaking area of the National Park and the risks of flooding in 2.14. AFC 30 035 3.9 Amend second sentence in Para 3.9 to read:- These areas often coincide with area of open country (as defined and mapped under Crow Act 2000) and within areas of nature conservation. Final sentence will also be amended to read, The Authority expects prospective developers to recognise their sensitivity and value, and to prove that any development will not adversely affect their character or amenity. AFC 31 036 3.12 Para 3.12 will be amended and partially deleted by substituting 'that efficient use of the Parks natural resources' with ' careful management of natural resources in a sustainable manner'. AFC 36 041 4.2 Amend text in paragraph 4.2 to read as follows: - "conservation and enhancement of this built heritage is an important factor when considering development within or adjacent to these special areas". AFC 37 041 4.2 Paragraph will be amended to include landscapes of historic interest. AFC 38 041 4.2 Include landscape of outstanding historic interest in section 4.2. Alter number of SA s to 372 and insert footnote stating when the number was last updated. D.E Effect of s on SEA/SA inor wording changes in supporting text only. change to assessment required. It is assumed that this change would occur within the settlement boundary and hence would be covered within the assessment of Policy Ng. change required. AFC 49 057 Delete footnote 65. AFC 50 057 5.32 Add the following text but normally new dwellings will only be allowed for agricultural and forestry workers to Para 5.32 relates to supporting text. Insert new sentence at the end of 5.43 as follows: Where settlements straddle the Park boundary considerations will be given to finding an appropriate exception site in consultation with the neighbouring authority AFC 53 066 5.6 18 Amend the text to read "foster the social and economic wellbeing of local communities" in paragraph 5.59. Relates to minor land allocation changes within the supporting text. significant change to assessment results anticipated. 12

CHAPTER 6: SUPPORTING A SUSTAINABLE RURAL ECONOY Page Para Policy s Proposed AFC 54 069 6.4 Amend the 1st sentence of 6.4 to read: "In pursuing National Park purposes the Authority has a duty to foster the social and economic wellbeing of local communities, and to co-operate for that purpose with local authorities and relevant public bodies. It will therefore encourage and promote opportunities for new employment, training and enterprise in the Park as well as supporting the continued viability of the agriculture, tourism and creative and cultural sector AFC 55 070 6.5 I Add "for a range of employment issues in paragraph 6.5. AFC 56 070 6.7 Replace 6.7 by the following: Employment in Snowdonia cannot be considered in isolation from the surrounding areas, given the distances people are prepared to travel to work. id-to-long distance commuting, especially by private car, is environmentally undesirable because of the carbon dioxide emissions caused and the finite nature of oil supplies, and becomes increasingly unattractive to people as fuel prices rise. However, there are a number of significant employment Effect of s on SEA/SA inor clarification to supporting text. change required. inor clarification to supporting text. change required. AFC 62 074 6.18 6.19 Add sub heading before para 6.18 tourist accommodation and before para 6.20 tourist facilities. AFC 63 074 6.20 Replace paragraph 6.20 with the following - New developments will only be supported where it can be demonstrated that there will be no adverse effects on the character of Snowdonia s Special Qualities, developments must also be located near a main road and therefore place no extra pressures on minor rural roads which may be unsuitable and should not cause a significant increase in car borne traffic. AFC 64 074 6.20 Insert text at the end of 6.20 The public right of way network, recreational routes, leisure networks and open country are regarded as important tourism facilities as well as serving the needs of local communities. The original text may have been included with the Habitats Regulations Assessment in mind. The modification does not affect this although the additional clarity of international sites within this would be helpful. Clarification is positive with regard to emissions but this amendment to the supporting text is not sufficient enough to warrant a change in the assessment. Clarity welcomed but no change to assessment required. 15

However, it is not considered that a change of this nature to the supporting text would result in a significant change. AFC 66 079 7.5 Delete third sentence in Para 7.5. Removal of speed limit review sentence is considered to be a minor modification of this supporting text and does not warrant a change in assessment. AFC 67 080 7.7 Paragraph will be amended to include horse riding.
