- Basic information The REISSMANN Sensortechnik heater bands were specifically designed for the electric motor industry. These heater bands are delivered as a finished product, in various combinations, of length and power output. - Application The heater bands prevent condensation in electric motors and also protect against frost damage. If condensation occurs inside the motor, creepage currents and short circuits may occur. - Advantages exclusive usage of silicone-free material prevention of outgassing of silicone protection of people and equipment, from dangerous gases very flexible design facilitates the matching of product to application Fig. 1: heater band type C - Construction The carrier material consists of a glass yarn and a resistance wire that is wound round the glass yarn. Afterwards the glass yarn is insulated by Teflon (Fig. 2). The junction between the lead-in and the resistance wire are insulated on both sides with shrink tubes. For protection against damage, from external sources, the entire heater band system is sewn into a fiberglass hose or sleeve (Fig. 1 and 3). The sewing in of the lead-in, at the end of the fiberglass hose, gives additional strain relief at the junction between the Teflon insulated resistance winding and the lead-in. - Certification VDE: 40029602 UL: E325880 Fig. 2: heater band type A 1-5
