He has investigated approximately 2,600 fires and successfully assisted in the prosecution and conviction of arson fires in Federal, State, and Juvenile courts. Since retirement from the Salt Lake City Fire Department, Mr. Long began working as a private fire investigator, owning his own private investigation company and is now employed with Unified as a senior fire investigator. During his time as a private investigator, he successfully investigated numerous fires involving product liability and insurance fraud cases.
