Getting to know your Evaporative Cooler Congratulations on the purchase of your new Evaporative Cooler by Mistral. Before first using your new Evaporative Cooler, it is most important that you read and follow the instructions in this use and care booklet, even if you feel you are familiar with this type of appliance. Your attention is drawn particularly to the section dealing with IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS. Find a safe and convenient place to keep this booklet handy for future reference. This appliance has been designed to operate from a standard domestic power outlet. It is not intended for industrial or commercial use. Operation of your Evaporative Cooler Before first use, remove all packaging material and ensure your Evaporative Cooler is in good condition. Add cold or iced water by opening the water box cover and filling it to the highest level indicated. Control Panel (on unit) Flow nature 0.5 1 2 4 normal sleep lo med hi Timer Type Speed Remote Control Cool ON/OFF Your Evaporative Cooler uses energy efficient technology to bring fresh air into your home or office. The air-cooling efficiency value is greater than that of traditional air conditioners. It also has zero impact on the ozone layer, helping to reduce the greenhouse effect. In addition to the fan and timing operations, your Evaporative Cooler has natural air fan and sleep functions. SPEED TYPE FLOW COOL TIMER ON/OFF Note: The functions on the control panel are the same as those on the remote control On/Off Pressing the on/off switch will turn the Evaporative Cooler on at medium speed. After 3 seconds, it will revert back to low speed or to the pre-programmed memory settings. When the Evaporative Cooler is in operation, pressing this switch will turn it off. The memory function will remember the settings in use when the Evaporative Cooler is turned off and re-use the same settings when it is switched on again. Speed Press this key to choose between low, medium and high fan speeds. Fan Type Use the fan types key to choose between normal, nature and sleep fan types. Normal: Normal settings are high, medium or low depending on speed selected. 4

Care and Cleaning Nature: Nature settings provide a soft and comfortable environment with a choice of high, medium or low fan speeds. Sleep: The sleep function uses the natural fan type and slowly lowers the speed of the Evaporative Cooler before finally turning it off altogether. At high speed, the Evaporative Cooler will operate at the highest speed for 30 minutes, the medium speed for 30 minutes and the low speed for 30 minutes before turning off. At medium speed, the Evaporative Cooler will operate at the medium speed for 30 minutes and the low speed for 30 minutes before turning off. At low speed, the Evaporative Cooler will operate at low speed for 30 minutes before turning off. Timer The timer settings are for 0.5, 1, 2 or 4 hours. When the timer is set, the indicator LED will show it is in use. Press it once and the 0.5 indicator will illuminate. Press it again and the 1 indicator will illuminate (having both the 0.5 and the 1 hour indicators lit indicates the timer is set for 1.5 hours). Pressing the timer button four times in total will set the timer for 7.5 hours. When none of the timer lights are lit, the timer is not set.
