Mistral-Air Forced Air Warming System Optimized warming The Mistral-Air Forced Air Warming System is uniquely designed to serve as a solution that optimizes patient warming throughout the perioperative process. System Features HEPA Filter Diffusion Technology Reflective Technology Additional Features Wide range of plus and premium disposables Over- and under-temperature alarms Default blower start-up temperature of 38 C Quiet, high-volume blower Indications for Use The Mistral-Air Warming System is a forced air warming device comprised of a warming unit and a variety of blankets. It is intended to raise and maintain patient temperature by means of surface warming.
Diffusion & reflective technology Diffusion Technology Aerodynamic Mistral-Air blankets are aerodynamically designed to achieve even and efficient airflow by directing warm air throughout the blanket. Reduces Floating Diffusion Technology eliminates individual high-pressure jets of air that can cause the blanket to loft. Disruption of Airflow Reduction The blanket stays in position, keeping warm air on the patient, minimizing the disruption of air flow in the surrounding environment. Reflective Technology Heat Loss Reduction Reflective technology can reduce heat loss by up to 80% in the perioperative environment. Passive Warming Reflective options also allow for the ability to both passively and actively warm. The ability to passively warm ensures that patients continue to maintain heat during transfer periods when not connected to a blower unit Proven efficiency Mistral-Air Diffusion Technology and Reflective Technology contributes to substantial reduction in cotton linen usage. Diffusion Technology eliminates individual high-pressure jets of air that can cause the blanket to loft. As a result, the disposable stays in position, keeping warm air on the patient and out of the surrounding environment, thereby reducing the need for cotton linens in addition to forced air warming. Warm cotton linens dissipate heat and do not efficiently prevent heat loss from the patient. A single warming blanket possessing Reflective Technology can replace multiple linens and can be used throughout the perioperative environment to maintain heat both passively and actively. Mistral-Air Forced Air Warming System technology can reduce the need for cotton linens in the perioperative environment, allowing caregivers to do more with less. 86% Mistral-Air can reduce cotton linen usage by 86% on average
Effective filtration The Mistral-Air HEPA filter is proven as 99.99% effective in capturing what is considered to be the most difficult particle size to catch,.3 microns. This level of filtration surpasses the level of filtration required for protective clinical environments such as operating rooms and isolation rooms. An integrated filter maintenance alarm will notify when the filter is in need of replacement. 1 0.8 HEPA detailed view 1 99.9 99.8 99.7 99.6 99.5 0.2 0.3 0.4 Detail of HEPA Filter Efficiency vs. Particle Size HEPA 90-95% 80-85% Efficiency (fraction) 0.6 0.4 0.2 60-65% 35-45% 0 0.01 0.1 1 10 Particle size (micrometers) Mistral-Air Warming Suits A fitting choice. Designed for perioperative versatility and adaptability, the Mistral-Air line of standard and reflective warming suits can be used at any stage. After supplying pre-op warming, they easily configure for an upper and/ or lower body warming as needed in the OR. They can then be reconfigured in the post-anesthesia care unit as a total suit. Velcro fasteners allow for quick, easy configuration while promoting patient comfort and dignity.
