GENERAL INFORMATION YOU MUST FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS MANUAL. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN YOU ASSUMING LIABILITY FOR THE PRODUCT. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ALL INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY. INTENDED USE To provide assistance when bathing by means of a door employed in the side of the tub. There is a locking handle employed for the purposes of locking or releasing the door. Open the door by operating the mechanism located on the tub until it releases the door. Enter the tub, once inside, the door should be closed shut and locked to ensure there is no water loss. The user can then seat themselves, removing any clothing. After placing the plug into the waste hole, the faucets should be opened to allow water to fill the tub at the required temperature. Once the tub is filled to the required level the user can then close the faucets. Exit is a reversal of the above procedure, with the exception that the water should be drained from the tub instead of using the faucet prior to the door being opened. ONLY ACCESSORIES AUTHORIZED BY THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE USED WITH THIS PRODUCT. USWIBOWMAN-V1-10/12/07 3

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS USER SAFETY NOTES DANGER: To reduce the risk of injury, do not permit children or persons with infirmities to use this product unless they are closely supervised at all times. To avoid injury, exercise care when entering or exiting the tub. Never drop or insert any objects into any openings. Risk of electrical shock; connect only to a separate circuit protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI). WARNING! Risk of electric shock; do not permit electric appliances (such as a hair dryer, lamp, telephone, radio or television) within 60 inches of this tub. The unit must be connected to a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI). Such a circuit is provided by the installer and should be tested on a routine basis. To test the GFCI push the test button; the GFCI should interrupt power. Push the RESET button; power should be restored. If the GFCI fails to operate in this manner there is a ground current flowing, indicating the possibility of an electrical shock. Do not use this unit. Disconnect the unit and have the problem corrected by a licensed service representative before any further use. The textured tub floor must remain clean to minimize the risk of slipping. Avoid the abuse of alcohol, drugs, or medication while using your walk in tub. Always ensure the door lock is fully closed prior to filling the tub. Ensure all items for bathing including towels, flannel, soap, shampoo, etc. are within easy reach when sat in the tub. WARNING! If this unit is to be utilised by many different bathers, we would strongly recommend that it is cleaned regularly with a medical disinfectant. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD FEET BE PLACE ON OUTWARD OPENING DOORS USWIBOWMAN-V1-10/12/07 5
USER INSTRUCTIONS Your Walk In Tub is simple to use and is virtually maintenance free. However, there are some basic guidelines which should be followed to ensure you get the best out of your unit. Enter the tub, close the door and secure the door closed using the locking handle. Make yourself comfortable on the seat, place the plug into the waste hole and commence filling the tub with water. In the event of the tub being overfilled, water may either be allowed to drain naturally through the overflow, or the plug should be temporarily removed to allow a sufficient amount of water to be drained away. Once you have finished bathing the tub may be emptied in the conventional manner, by removing the waste plug. The door must not be opened until the tub is completely empty of water. HELPFUL HINTS Make sure the bathroom is warm before you decide to have your bath. In this way you will be able to enjoy your bath fully. A small towel draped across the shoulders while the tub is filling is also a good way to ensure you are fully relaxed. We suggest that, as the tub is filling, you wash yourself working from the toes upwards so that as the water rises you are rinsed off automatically! Keep a towel handy so that you can dry yourself as the tub empties. USWIBOWMAN-V1-10/12/07 6
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS CLEANING The Walk In tub does not require any major maintenance, but you should follow these simple instructions. The tub should be wiped down, preferably while the tub is draining, with a soft, damp cloth. To retain the surface quality of the tub, clean weekly using bathroom cleaning mousse or washing-up liquid. Warm water and a soft cloth is recommended. For the slip resistant floor area you may need to use a stiff brush. Stubborn stains may require a non-scratch liquid cleaner. Do not use oven cleaners, scouring powders or bleach on any of the surfaces. These may spoil the appearance of your tub. Particular attention should be paid to the cleaning of the door seal, as the slightest amount of debris can cause the seal to leak. A weekly wipe around the seal with a soft, damp soapy cloth is recommended to ensure it remains serviceable. IMPORTANT When not in use the door should be left in the closed position, although not in the fully latched closed position. This will prevent the hinges being strained while stopping the seal becoming compressed over time, and will allow the seal to dry after use. ON NO ACCOUNT SHOULD PRESSURE BE PUT ON THE DOOR WHILE IN THE OPEN POSITION Plated fittings, such as the handle and hinges, must only be wiped with a soft, damp soapy cloth. Chalk mark deposits from the water or mild scratches may be removed from the tub surface with a mild cutting fluid. This should be applied to the affected area with a soft cloth and rubbed vigorously until a satisfactory finish is effected. The shine to the area may then be brought back using a wax-based polish. DAMAGED SURFACE Should the finished surface of the tub have become marked or scratched it is normally possible to rectify quite simply. Firstly, apply 1000/1200 grade Wet & Dry paper, initially using it dry. After the mark has been reduced, use with soapy water. To restore the finish to the tub, apply a cutting paste and finally finish off with a silicone based polish such as car wax. This is only possible where there is no textured finish. The textured finish will be abraded away if rubbed with wet and dry paper. USWIBOWMAN-V1-10/12/07 7
