NSS Activities at A.P-IIIT, RK Valley-516329, Vempalli (Mandal), YSR Dt., A.P., Gandhi Jayanthi Celebrations on October 2 nd, 2013 Unveiling of the Portrait of Mahatma Gandhi by Prof. Y. Krishna Reddy, Prof. E. Viswanatha Reddy, Dr. D.V.Rao, NSS Programme Coordinator, N. Prabhakara Raddy (OSD), R. Lakshmana Naik (Programme officer) and M. Rupas Kumar (Programme Officer) NSS programme coordinator, progamme officers of the five NSS units, faculty and NSS student volunteers of A.P- IIIT, RGUKT, RK Valley, are assembled at Phase-1, academic block, and observed the 2nd October Birth Anniversary of Father of the Nation NSS programme co-ordinator of RGUKT and programme officers of the five NSS units of RK Valley, collected five hundred plants (Mango of different varieties, Premna Arborea, Butea Monosperma, Sterculia Villosa, Azadirachta Indica, Syzygium Cumni, Emblica Officinalis, Madhuca Indica) of different kinds from the nearby forest department and botanical gardens for plantation drive on October 2 nd. Prof. Y. Krishna Reddy, Director, RGUKT, A.P-IIIT, RK Valley, launched the plantation drive by planting the sapling in the campus. About 500 NSS Volunteers took part in the plantation drive in campus. A total of 500 various plant saplings mentioned above were planted by NSS Volunteers in the

campus as a whole and covered the area around the main buildings, hostels, shopping complex, hospital, playground, gardens, quarters and statue at the square. During plantation drive, Prof. Y. Krishna Reddy, Director, RGUKT, A.P-IIIT, RK Valley, emphasized the importance of plantation. The Director of the RK valley campus appreciated the role of the NSS Coordinator, Dr.D.V.Rao, NSS Programme officers, Dr. Y Subhashini, Dr. B. Tiwari, R. Lakshmana Naik, M. Rupas Kumar, and NSS volunteers for organising the plantation drive, to create more natural beautification at RK Valley campus and also making it free from environmental pollution. Professors, and faculty, were also present on the occasion. These activities were continued from 8.30 AM to 12.30 PM.
