Optonic G3 Smart Alarm I t is a well known fact that the best ideas are obvious; after you see it done of course! Three heads, one circuit, one battery, one bar. Three alarms in one Obvious? Originally, Optonic produced the first ground breaking alarms, setting a standard of performance and reliability for others to aim for. In the years that followed, Optonic continued to produce highly reliable bite alarms, superb functionality, excellent electronics and have above all delivered remarkable value. Therefore the G3 Smart Alarm is Optonic, in one single design. Revolutionary Design Why the Smart G3 from Optonic is so different... This revolutionary device comprises three integrated micro alarm heads and sensitivity selector buttons but uses one power source, a single radio transmitter all of which is contained in one buzz bar system. International Patent and registered Design applied for. The G3 Receiver offers Volume and Tone control and has a range of up to 500m Each head features an LED that latches for 30 seconds or can be activated to night light mode The battery housing cover features a recessed internal edge to halt water intrusion The G3 uses a single power source and single antenna The run length detection of each head can be adjusted to detect 2cm or 4cm of movement The Fixed Back Bar ensures alignment of rods when used with the G3. Operating Instructions RECEIVER ON/OFF AND VOLUME BUTTON Press the Volume button and hold it down for four seconds until all LEDs (Blue/Yellow/Green & Red) are shining. Release the button and you will hear four ascending notes the Receiver is now on. To turn the Receiver off, press the Volume button for four seconds, again showing the LEDs lighting in order and then release. You will hear one low pitch note which indicates that the Receiver is off. When activated the LEDs will latch (stay on) for 30 seconds. VOLUME ADJUSTMENT There are five volume settings from silent to loud - press the button quickly to adjust. TONE CONTROL BUTTON There are four tone settings - press the button quickly to adjust. BATTERY Ensure the Receiver is switched off when replacing or changing the battery. Slide out the battery cover at the rear of the Receiver and insert a 9 volt PP3 battery, checking polarity and connection. As the battery is connected you will hear beeps and the Alarm LEDs will flash. Slide back the battery cover into place. An alkaline battery is recommended for maximum battery life. LOW BATTERY WARNING If LEDs flash every second, battery should be replaced. 8 www.optonic.net BAR SYSTEM ON/OFF Press the On/Off button for four seconds. The LEDs will illuminate fully. On release the Receiver will signal twice and the bar LEDs will flash as will the red LED on the receiver, which will latch for 30 seconds. To switch off, press the On/Off for four seconds. The LEDs on the bar will half and fully illuminate. On release the receiver will signal once and the red LED will latch for 30 seconds. NIGHT LIGHT Press the On/Off button on the bar for two seconds until the LEDs shine at half strength then release. This is night light mode. Pressing again for two seconds deactivates the night light function. RUN LENGTH DETECTION ADJUSTMENT You are able to choose a preferred run length detection setting for each individual head. Select one of the three grouped buttons on the bar. These are connected in sequence with each head. By pressing the relevant button quickly (for half a second) you can select one of two sensitivity settings. These are clearly defined by one note and single flash or two notes and a double flash. First Setting The alarm will activate for every 2cms of line taken. Second Setting The alarm will activate for every 4cms of line taken. Each LED on the bar and receiver will stay on (latch) for 30 seconds after a take. DEFAULT SETTING The Transmitter and Receiver will memorise the settings when turned off and will reset them automatically when turned on again. ANTENNA This antenna ensures a clear transmission range of up to 500m. To maintain optimum performance ensure that the antenna is not be bent, twisted or removed. This may lead to damage of the system. RESET FUNCTION On the rare occasion that the unit cannot be turned on or off or indeed stops working you can easily reset it. Please press the bronze colour reset button with a pin for two seconds, release and restart the unit. This is located inside a small hole on the underside of the bar, approx 15mm to the right of the battery compartment. BATTERY Ensure the Bar is switched off when replacing or changing the battery. Slide out the battery cover at the rear of the Bar and insert a 9 volt PP3 battery, checking polarity and connection. Slide back the battery cover into place. An alkaline battery is recommended for maximum battery life. LOW BATTERY WARNING If LEDs flash every second, battery should be replaced.
