It was part of a large farm which became a religious camp in the mid 20th century. As the camp expanded and the owners were not able or willing to keep the buildings up to code, they decided to burn the house down and replace it with more modern buildings. Wanting to save the many remaining architectural details, we dismantled the antique house and the parts are now up for sale. WE HAVE SOLD TRHE PROPERTY THE HOUSE IS STORED ON SO EVERYTHING MUST GO ALL PRICES ARE NEGOTIABLE. The house was originally built in the Federal style in 1811 in Cornwallville, New York. Much of the exterior was later updated in the Greek Revival style with a monumental new entry, lengthened and updated ground floor windows and new cornice elements. The house was built as a three bay center hall, two stories, two rooms deep on each floor, 40 wide and 25 deep. At the time of the general update, two Greek Revival WIngs flanking the center mass were added though not much of those wings remain. Much of the original pine frame, excepting the attic framing, was lost to rot, and some of the original siding is missing. Most everything else, both exterior and interior, is intact and listed below. We can supply general documentation of the original layout of the building. We will sell parts of the house individually or sell the whole thing in one go, with pricing negotiable depending upon quantities purchased. The house is in storage in Dutchess county, NY.
