Towards a better indoor climate fresh air and comfort The indoor climate in offices, schools and other institutions varies greatly depending on the condition of the buildings, their layout and furnishing, and the number of people using them. Quite often it can be seen that spaces were designed in accordance with some original plan that has become outdated. The usage of the spaces has simply changed. This is for eample epressed by temporary solutions that are made permanent in spite of poor room comfort. The ideal ventilation unit for solving indoor climate problems Climaster ZCF can be delivered with integrated controls for LONWORKS communication as well as a user-friendly control panel. The display shows the active system state and is also used for configuration. The controls are factory tested. All components are easy and quick to install on site. Alternatively, the Climaster ZCF can also be delivered without controls. The fan section is energy efficient and designed with operational reliability and ease of maintenance in mind. The fan wheel has free-flow, backward-curved blades and is connected directly to a motor with integrated frequency converter. ZCF units are available in eight sizes, ranging from 0.10 m 3 /s to 3.70 m 3 /s, all with rotary heat echanger. Climaster ZCF 5, 8, 11 and 15 are also available with cross-flow heat echanger. Both types provide optimum heat recovery and come, as standard, with fresh-air-intake spring-return damper and F7 and F5 pocket filters. These are supplied as loose parts for fitting to the fresh-air connector. Dampers for ZCF 15, 20, 25, 30 and 37 are rectangular, and are pre-fitted to the fresh-air connector. A shut-off damper with on/off damper motor for the discharged air is delivered as standard. Heat echanger rotary The rotor is made of high-quality chequered aluminium plate with good heat transfer, which gives a high efficiency. The rotor is driven by a geared motor with electronic speed regulation. A spare belt is fitted on the rotor as standard. Alternatively, a hygroscopic rotary heat echanger is also available. 2 4 Fresh air Filters for fresh and etracted air Fresh-air filter F7 is standard. Etracted-air filter F5 is standard. The filters are pocket filters, which must be replaced when needed. A signal indicating filter change is displayed in the control panel. The filters are disposable. Sets of spare filters are available as accessories to order. Heat echanger cross flow (ZCF 5, 8, 11 and 15) The cross-flow heat echanger is made of aluminium plate with good heat transfer, which gives a high efficiency. The section can by-pass air flow round the echanger. The cross-flow echanger and by-pass have two regulating dampers connected to a damper motor for modulating operation. The echanger has an aluminium drip tray and condensate drain beneath it. A water trap is included. 6 Climaster ZCF

5 6 Delivered air Fan delivery fan etraction fan The fan unit is designed for comfortable ventilation and makes little noise. It is installed on anti-vibration mountings and is easily dismantled for maintenance and service. The fan wheel is of the free-flow type and has backward-curved blades. It is connected directly to the motor shaft. The standard motor has an integrated frequency converter and stepless speed control. 6 7 Delivered air Electric heating coil (alternative) The heating coil consists of stainless steel heating element groups. On ZCF 5, 8, 11 and 15, the coil is located within the delivery-air section. On ZCF 20, 25, 30 and 37, it is mounted outside on the deliveryair connector. The heating coil is step regulated, with the first step being modulating. Hot-water heating coil On ZCF 20, 25, 30 and 37, the heating coil is mounted on the outside of the delivery-air connector. See figure above. On ZCF 5, 8, 11 and 15 it is built-in in the delivery-air section and water is supplied via a connector on the end of the unit. The heating coils are made of copper piping with aluminium fins. Connection cables run from the control unit to the motorised valve. Specific heating coil dimensions are calculated using the Climaster Designer program from Novenco. Control unit (optional) The control unit is located in the section containing the discharge fan. It is easily accessible for inspection and service. All signals from internal and eternal functions are recorded in the unit. Selected parameters are viewed and set with the control panel. Connecting to LONWORKS is done via the control unit. Climaster ZCF 7

Eternal cooling system (optional) The cooling system is offered for the entire ZCF series. It includes a cooling coil with duct adapter, cooling unit and a motorised three-way valve. The cooling coil is installed in the delivery-air duct. To allow condensation run-off, it must be installed vertically. The cooling unit connects to the control unit and via piping to the cooling coil. See the water circulation circuit below. Vertical air delivery (ZCF 20, 25, 30 and 37) Variants with this type of air delivery are only available with rotary heat echangers and have vertical delivery-air ducts located in the top of the unit casing. The heating coil is mounted horizontally on the delivery-air connector. If the system also is to be fitted with cooling functionality, the cooling coil must be mounted vertically. V T VM T Return Min. 60 kpa diff. pressure VO Supply V T V = Shut-off valve VM = Solenoid valve VO = Overflow valve T = Thermometer Etra pump activated by low diff. pressure The circuit has to be made by an authorised plumber.
