Examples include: Wallpaper Cooker Switches Sockets Cupboards Even if you had a cooker installed in the past you may still need to make some changes to ensure the connection of your new cooker can be safely completed according to current legislation. You MUST ensure you arrange for any sockets (including the cooker switch socket), switches, wallpaper or any other items that could melt or catch fire to be removed before the installer can complete your installation. HOT ZONE ADVICE Prior to any installation, MCD will carry out a detailed survey with every client ensuring a smooth and efficient experience. Cooker outlet can carry up to 45amps for electric and duel fuel cooker with an electric rating above 3kw. Important points to note that will avoid your installation failing on the day: Check you have the correct electric supply for the type of appliance you require. Sockets and switches Wallpaper/combustible material 32amp ~ for Free standing Electric cooker that consumes greater than 3kw Overhanging wooden or plastic window sill and cooker too close to wall where socket is visible. Clearance issues above and to the side of the cooking area 13amp ~ for single electric oven cookers and gas ignition supply using less than 2.99kw. 24 25
