Bourassa to Innes / Industrial
Innes / Industrial Intersection Modifications TRANSIT LANES THROUGH INTERSECTION SMART CHANNEL & PROTECTED BIKE BOX NEW ISLANDS (AODA-COMPLIANT) DOUBLE LEFT-TURN LANES NEW MULTI-USE PATHWAY & CROSSRIDE
Preliminary Design Roadway widening from existing pavement Maintains existing crossfall and drainage patterns New cycletracks and sidewalks relocated toward the property line Existing hydro poles to remain in place Some utility relocations required (e.g. Hydro Ottawa, Rogers, etc.) Minor grading required
Preliminary Design (con t) Roadway resurfacing St. Laurent Boulevard from Innes / Industrial to just south of Smyth / Lancaster New traffic signal plant Innes / Industrial Bourassa Smyth / Lancaster New street lighting
New Sidewalk Construction Tremblay to Belfast Existing condition is substandard and in poor condition Will be included as part of this project, but not part of the EA
Sidewalk Tremblay to Belfast New concrete sidewalk will be at least 1.8 m wide, meeting current City standards Sidewalk construction will not include rail overpass MATCHLINE BELFAST TREMBLAY MATCHLINE
Project Issues Identified To Date Utility Relocations Need to maintain existing hydro poles Three Hydro Ottawa vaults at Innes / Industrial require relocation Property Requirements Approximately 21 m 2 of property required at SW corner of Innes / Industrial to accommodate design Minor grading encroachments may be required
Environmental Impacts Project corridor in heavily disturbed area No species at risk (SAR) identified No requirement for archaeological assessment Approvals Required Municipal Class EA - Schedule C Noise By-law exemption for night work
Traffic Impacts During Construction Contractor will prepare traffic control and traffic management plans prior to start of construction Two full lanes on St. Laurent open throughout the day Limited daytime (off-peak) turn lane closures Nighttime lane reductions Access to commercial areas and key driveways maintained at all times Potential for temporary relocation of bus stops / shelters
