Our equipment portfolio includes hazardous area equipment, drill floor safety systems, subsea and well control equipment. BOP CONTROL SYSTEM BOP control systems can be designed with either traditional push-button panels or using a modern HMI touch screen control. Where required, dual redundant control systems can be supplied to offer an additional level of safety and reliability. HMI control and operation of the BOP and Diverter is becoming an ever more popular choice with clients, a direct replacement for the push button panel. We do however supply both HMI and traditional panels within the same system on a regular basis. Traditional push-button panels or HMI touch-screen control Event Logging as Standard Safety and reliability built in Rapid installation using fibre optic technology PLC based systems Systems are designed, built and maintained by an in house team of multidiscipline engineers and service technicians working from our Aberdeen and Singapore bases. RCP provide comprehensive rig support services including: Project Support Site supervision, CAD support PLC upgrades and coding Rig refit and SPS Support Installation teams Equipment Surveys Control equipment, instrumentation, BOP and Choke panel surveys Equipment installation & supervision Cable installation and testing Fibre, Profibus, Profinet and standard multicore Supply of contract ET s Jackup, Semi and Drillship experience Compex inspections and surveys Compliance reporting and remedial work For your peace of mind our professional engineers, ET s and electricians will take ownership of equipment installations, diagnostics, surveys and field support. The advantage of using PLC / HMI technology in control systems, is that the panels tend to be much smaller and fibre optic communication cables are utilised in place of common multicore cables, greatly reducing both cabling costs and installation time. 01
CHOKE CONTROL CONSOLE RCP s concentrated efforts to bring to the market a fully CE and ATEX certified choke control console paid off some years ago. The design layout and component selection used in building our console had all been carefully considered leading to what has been described by clients as a highly reliable and quality piece of drilling equipment. FEATURES / OPTIONS Choke Valve Speed Control Nitrogen backup Upto 4 mud pumps monitored Manifold instrumentation PSC and gauges Choke position display Piston isolators Diaphragm isolators HPHT Digital drillfloor HPHT Instrumentation provides high resolution analogue and digital indication of the following sensors: Mud Gas Separator U tube Pressure Buffer Tank Pressure U&L Choke Line Temperature BOP Temperature BOP Pressure Flowline Temperature GATE VALVE CONTROL DIGITAL FINE SCALE GAUGE Digital Fine Scale Gauges offer an increased accuracy and a clearer indication of choke, kill and standpipe pressures over the more traditional analogue gauge models. A higher degree of accuracy is guaranteed. The user has a choice of display options and alternate configurations with alarm functions. Auto sequencing of valves can be easily configured should alarm levels be exceeded. SHAKER VALVE CONTROL Our range of ATEX certified instrumentation now also includes a Four Pump Stroke Counter (PSC) for use in a Zone 1 environment which can be integrated with the Choke Console. Innovative design allows for rapid installation and set up in addition to simple operation. The PSC is also available in a stand alone unit. The Gate Valve Control System allows for both manual and automatic operation of HCR valves. The GVCS can be tied into our HPHT system which will sequence the valves to vent over-pressure in any of the return lines. The GVCS is suitably rated for installation in a zone 2 area. The Shaker Valve Control System allows highly accurate position monitoring and control of knife gate valves which control the return mud flow to the shakers. HMI touchscreen panels are used for this purpose and can be located in both the drillers cabin, and the shaker room to enable dual monitoring and control. The system is suitably rated for installation in a zone 2 area. MUD FLOW SENSOR Our Zone 0 rated mud flow transmitter is designed to accurately sense the return flow of mud from the annulus. The sensor can be integrated into any one of our digital drill floor systems or can be supplied as a standalone unit with a simple gauge and inbuilt alarm set-points. 02 03
ANTI COLLISION POTENTIAL COLLISION POINTS Travelling block Link tilt Monkey board Racking arms RIG MONITORING SYSTEM The travelling block monitor (TBM) is an intuitive floor and crown saver which continually monitors the hook load, velocity, weight and direction of the travelling block to determine safe operational parameters for braking. Designed as a back up to the driller our system automatically applies braking when the driller fails to do so in a safe manner therefore only intervening when necessary. The Anti-Collision System (ACS) prevents conflict between drilling equipment operating within the derrick. Such systems have proven to be highly effective in the prevention of collisions involving various pieces of drillfloor equipment. When used in conjunction with the TBM, the ACS becomes a highly effective back up and safety system for both the driller and drill crew. BRAKE CONTROLLERS RCP design and build a bespoke range of replacement SCR and PWM brake controllers for use with electromagnetic brakes. Modern brake controllers are proven to be more efficient and easier to maintain and support. Event logging and equipment diagnostics can be built into any of our modern systems. A wide range of design options of controllers are also available which can include brake monitors, and battery chargers. The rig monitoring system (RMS) display highly accurate information derived from an almost limitless range of sensor inputs and drilling equipment. Intuitive and configurable, each HMI station displays a number of drilling parameters and graphics. Operators have instant access to a wide number of screens readily configured to offer basic operation including stop/ starts, monitoring only or maintenance & diagnostics stations. Screens can include, but are not restricted to: Drilling Tripping Pumps & Pits Bulk Storage Ballast Tanks Mud Mixing Anchor Winches Engine Monitoring HPHT Well Control BOP Functions The RMS comes with E-Log as standard and the option of remote viewing and access. 04 05
POSITION MONITORING SYSTEM The Position Monitoring System uses RADAR technology to instantaneously display the distance between a platform and an approaching vessel. Integrated sensors from systems such as environmental and helideck monitoring equipment enable heave, roll and pitch of the vessel, compass bearing, wind speed and direction to be displayed and logged. DRILLERS CABINS Recent examples of Cabin remodelling projects can be seen here. During this project RCP used a cut and shut process where the original cabin frontage was cut away and simply replaced by the new fascia. This process allowed for a rapid refit onsite, existing instrumentation panelling was slightly modified to integrate the new with old. HELIDECK MONITORING SYSTEM In collaboration with our trusted partners, Shore Connection, RCP offer the HMS. A cost effective solution to managing flights safely and efficiently between offshore vessels, rigs and onshore. Renowned for its ease of use the HMS is capable of supporting additional options such as video recording, wave radars, remote operation, lightening detectors and sun radiation. This conforms to UK CAA guidelines CAP437/CAP746; UK/Norwegian Standard HMS rev 8 from HCA. ANCHOR WINCH MONITORING SYSTEM Anchor winch monitoring provides the Barge engineer and bridge with accurate measurements of a number of required anchor line parameters, such as, Line Tension, Line Pay-Out length, Pay-Out / Reel in Rate and Alarms set points. A simplified graphic of the rig and sensor information is used to offer an excellent overview of the system allowing for rapid intervention if required. DRILLERS PRESSURISATION SYSTEM RCP have designed a dual fan controlled pressurisation system, upon sensing gas the VSD controller will automatically actuate dampers on the intake lines. Ex fans on the safe line will operate automatically to maintain a clean supply of air to the cabin, safe cabin pressure is maintained throughout this process. 06 07
BOP EVENT LOGGER PROCESS INJECTION VALVE CONTROL E-log software was designed specifically with subsea BOP valve monitoring and diagnostics in mind. It has proved to be a very flexible tool and is now used in many different applications where a verified independent account of a valve/ fluid function is required. Results are date/time stamped and securely stored. E-log is a standalone software based system designed for use with a wide range of existing HPU s. It is undoubtedly proving its worth as an excellent diagnostic tool indicating potential issues at a very early stage. The Chemical Injection System accurately monitors and controls the process of hydrate injection while displaying and recording the sensor data. Up to 8 skids can be controlled from one central cabinet where predetermined access rights for a hierarchy of users can be issued ie. Control room supervisors, maintenance operators and general technicians. Additional viewing screens can also be located in other areas of the plant. 08 09
