Follower Plate Installation Follower Plate Installation Instructions NOTE: Before the follower plate is installed in the drum of grease, pack cone with grease.. Press follower plate, cone side up, into grease and firmly press on it to remove all air pockets NOTE: See Parts, page and for illustrations showing cone side up position.. Push down on follower plate cylinder () until grease starts to appear in pump opening at follower plate grommet (). See Parts, pages and.. Relieve pressure using the Pressure Relief Procedure in your separate pump manual. 2. Remove pump.. Reinstall pump and drum cover (See Drum Cover Installation, page ). 7. Prime pump.. Drum Cover Installation Drum Cover Installation. HP and HF Models Only: Remove bolts (28) and shroud (2) from pump.. Place drum cover () on drum (a). For 20 pound models only, tighten thumb screws () securely) (FIG. ). 2 FIG. 2 28 2. Remove screws () and washers () from drum cover () (FIG. ). Save these parts. Verify gasket () is in place on top the drum cover and laying flat (FIG., page ). Install pump down tube through opening in the center of the gasket () and drum cover () and into drum. 278C
Drum Cover Installation. Align holes in pump base with holes in drum cover () (FIG. ). Securely fasten pump to drum cover using screws () and washers () removed in Step 2, page. FIG. 7.
