CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Proper cleaning and maintenance extends FITNICE lifespan. A correct color choice can reduce the risk of staining. PREVENTION A good maintenance begins by avoiding the product getting dirty. For that reason FITNICE advises to install a good entrance system to ensure the most part of the dirt and abrasive particles carried by shoes and wheels are collected there. During works like masonry or painting, FITNICE must be protected with strong plastic sheets or similar, as some of the products used in this type of activities, like paint or varnish, may damage irreparably the flooring. Before beginning normal FITNICE use, it is recommended to remove any construction dust (sand, cement or other abrasive particles). After vacuum cleaning, mop the floor with lukewarm water and neutral soap. Make sure before cleaning that the adhesive employed is completely dry. FITNICE advises to protect any sharp edges of the furniture with plastic protectors to prevent damaging the product. FITNICE must be protected when furniture is moved on it. Dragging heavy objects on FITNICE will cause irreparable damage. The wheels in contact with FITNICE must be hard polyamide, and have a minimum diameter of 50 mm and at least 20 mm width. Rubber materials can affect the color of the flooring after prolonged contact. Do not use abrasive or sharp cleaning objects. Solvents like acetone must not be employed. Oxidizing cleaning products must not be employed Stains should be removed immediately, as old stains are much more difficult to clean. Steam cleaning machines may damage the product. Cigarettes can leave irreparable burn marks. CLEANING PROTOCOL Daily cleaning Vacuum the flooring daily in order to avoid dirt accumulation and material wear caused by the abrasion produced by dirt particles. Periodic cleaning The periodicity of cleaning depends on the selected material, the traffic on the product and the user criteria. Although it is recommended to use a mechanical sweeper, small areas can be cleaned manually. Ed. 2 02/10/15 Pg.2

Periodic manual cleaning 1. Vacuum the flooring to remove most of the dirt. A broom can also be used. 2. Use a wet mop. Soak it in warm water and neutral soap and scrub the floor. It is not necessary to rinse the floor cleaned in that way. 3. Dry the floor with a dry soft mop. Periodic mechanical cleaning 1. Vacuum the flooring to remove the most of the dirt. 2. Clean the flooring with a mechanical sweeper with soft brush rollers. Use warm water and diluted neutral soap. 3. FITNICE recommends a scrubber drier machine like Kärcher BR 30 4C. If the mechanical sweeper used does not have the drying option, a dry mop can be employed to remove the water. Deep cleaning Deep cleaning may be necessary when the flooring is extremely stained. It is recommended as well a periodic deep cleaning for an optimal maintenance of FITNICE. Deep manual cleaning 1. Vacuum the flooring to remove most of the dirt. A broom can also be used. 2. Remove difficult stains, following the indications in the section Special stain removal. 3. Use a wet mop. Soak it in warm water and alkaline cleaner (preferably bleach Ph13). 4. Let it work for 5 10 minutes. It is important that the flooring remains wet. 5. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. 6. Dry the water with a mop. Deep mechanical cleaning 1. Vacuum the flooring to remove most of the dirt. 2. Remove difficult stains, following the indications in the section Special stain removal. 3. Clean the flooring with a mechanical sweeper with soft brush rollers. Use warm water and diluted alkaline cleaner (preferably bleach Ph13). 4. Let it work for 5 10 minutes. It is important that the flooring remains wet. 5. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. 6. FITNICE recommends a scrubber drier machine like Kärcher BR 30 4C. STAIN REMOVAL 1. Remove the stain as soon as possible. 2. Use a dry cloth to absorb the staining agent and avoid it to spread. 3. Use the recommended cleaner for each specific stain. 4. If alkaline or acidic agents are used, it is indispensable to rinse thoroughly after its use. 5. Dry with a dry cloth. Difficulty Level Legend 1 Easily cleaned.
