The purpose of the test is to form a basis for technical fire classification. Product According to the client: Product consisting of fire retardant treated plywood of beech, birch and alder. The product has a nominal thickness of 12 mm and a nominal density of 72 88 kg/m 3. The product is treated with a fire retardant called PW-64, dry uptake 4 kg/m 3. The product is glued with a melamine, phenolic, urea-formaldehyde resin. The fire retardant is applied to the plywood by soaking all of the dried veneer sheets individually. The product is dried after soaking and is finally glued. Manufacturer Sklejka-Pisz Paged S.A, Pisz, Poland. Sampling The sample was delivered by the client. It is not known to SP Fire Research if the product received is representative of the mean production characteristics. The sample was received July 2, 215 at SP Fire Research. Test results The test results are given in appendix 1 2 and photographs are shown in appendix 3. An explanation of the SBI-test parameters is given in appendix 4. The test results relate to the behaviour of the test specimens of a product under the particular conditions of the test; they are not intended to be the sole criterion for assessing the potential fire hazard of the product in use. Mounting See photo 1 2, appendix 3. The product was mounted according to EN 13823:21+A1:214, 5.2.2 a, b and e. It was fixed with an air gap of 4 mm to a gypsum plasterboard. The air gap was created by means of horizontally placed wooden battens. The panels in accordance with EN 13823:21, 4.4.11 were removed. Both vertical and horizontal joints were used. The plasterboard fulfil the requirements given in EN 13238.
