PARIS, FRANCE Paris has a timeless familiarity for first time and frequent visitors, with instantly recognisable architectural icons, along with exquisite cuisine, chic boutiques and priceless artistic treasures. With its iconic landmarks and monuments such as Notre Dame de Paris, the Eiffel Tower, La Défense (Grand Arche), the Louvre museum and numerous parks, it is no wonder it s the most visited city in the world. Paris grandeur is inspiring but its quartiers (quarters) are like a patchwork of villages, and while it s one of the world s major metropolises with all of the culture and facilities that go with it there s a real sense of community at the local shops, markets and cafes that hasn t changed since my childhood. Yet because every little village has its own evolving character, constantly discovering and rediscovering hidden corners of the city. Paris can be seen as the most interesting city of Europe and probably even as one of the most amazing city s worldwide. People from all over the world travel to Paris to discover and experience this fairy-like city. Paris is the city of love, inspiration, art and fashion. The night scene, the Eiffel tower and the warm atmosphere will make you feel directly at home. Paris has a lot of interesting architecture and museums to offer, and is also a Walhalla for shopaholics. A city as Paris is one that everyone should visit and experience. ESAG PENNINGHEN École supérieure d arts graphiques Penninghen The prestigious Académie Julian was established in 1868 by Rodolphe Julian as a private studio school for art students, preparing them for the entrance exams of the renowned École des Beaux-Arts (School of Fine Arts) and also offering them independent training in arts. Many international students came to study here, in particular Americans and Europeans, who wanted to develop their artistic skills in the renowned Avant- Garde Paris. However, with it s modern outlook and thanks to the fact that Rodolphe Julian and many of his teachers spoke English the Académie Julian was the first French art school to accept both women and international students, providing them with highly sought after artistic training. Today, ESAG Penninghen students learn to master their art in the footsteps of famous artists and former students such as Maurice Denis, Henri Matisse & Robert Rauschenberg. Since its creation in 1968, ESAG Penninghen has employed teachers from a wide range of professional artistic backgrounds; architects to product designers, graphic designers to web designers, both French and international profiles which has attracted a host of international students from around the world. penninghen.com 5 Guide for International Students University Videos
