WHO WE ARE Established in 2005, HAZLOC only began operating full-time in 2008 and quickly filled a niche in the industry with its valuable training and consultancy service. Based in Sasolburg, in the far north of the Free State province of South Africa, HAZLOC Hazardous Location Consultants and Training operates inside and outside South African borders. We are set out to deliver a national and international accredited and valuable training service to the industry. Our goals and objectives when starting the newly formed business was, to get a specialised training company going which would be able to provide better training services and expert consultation to our customers. All our national training courses are accredited and registered by the EWSETA with registration number: ENER-HOgZC510101118. Our consultants are highly skilled regarding hazardous area classifications and equipment compliance audits for equipment installed in hazardous locations. They have undergone extensive training at various national and international approved training and test laboratories. We are currently the first and only international accredited CompEx training facility (Centre No.11) in the Southern Hemisphere that can present and assess the renowned International CompEx training scheme that will change the way training are being presented in South Africa. CompEx training is the minimum standard / requirement to which all electrical and instrumentation artisans must adhere to internationally, when they are working in hazardous locations in petroleum, chemical, oil & gas onshore and offshore installations. This training is also internationally accepted throughout the world and is currently the benchmark for training for personnel working in hazardous locations. The training consists of theoretical as well as practical assessment of students. Despite its recent founding, HAZLOC has already established key strategic relationships with major companies in South Africa as well as international and cross border countries in Africa like Namibia, Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, Nigeria, Madagascar, Abu Dhabi (UAE) and recently Kenya to name a few.

LOCAL KNOWLEDGE HAZLOC's staffs joined the business through traditional methods / routes by growing from within the company. HAZLOC are currently being represented by BB Koen (Managing Member) with more than 35 years and MJ Wilmans with more than 37 years experience. Both have experience in different hazardous location environments ranging from power generation, petrochemical, combustible dust and explosive manufacturing. You can have the best business strategies, the best equipment, the best resources, but if you lack competent and confident people exercising that, then there is no opportunity for your business to reach it s full potential and provide a good return on the investment for stakeholders. Every company should invest in their most valuable resource it s people. Our personnel have extensive hands on knowledge across industries regarding hazardous locations; this is something that very few companies can offer on the same level. BB Koen attended extensive hazardous area classification training in Europe at various international accredited test laboratories. We believe our skill set, along with openness, honesty and being in constant contact with customers, is the key to the company's success. BB Koen and MJ Wilmans are also the only two internationally accredited CompEx assessors and trainers for CompEx training scheme in Africa. FUTURE VISION Our vision at HAZLOC is to establish ourselves as one of the leaders in the field regarding hazardous area classifications, consultancy and training providers for hazardous locations, especially in South Africa and Africa. We also want to be recognised throughout the world, as we apply the same requirements and standards that are used in the rest of the world.
