Quick Start Up Guide Congratulations on your decision to purchase an easy to operate and easy to maintain South Pacific Spa. Follow this guide for quick and easy start up. IMPORTANT SITE PREPARATION NOTE: IMPORTANT Do Not Use Shims, Wedges, or Other Type Leveling Devices While Leveling The Spa 1. Your new Spa must be installed on solid flat surface that will support 3000 pounds. It is critical that you do not use shims, wedges or similar leveling devices while leveling the Spa. 100% floor contact is necessary to prevent long term distortion. Improper installation may void your warranty. Leave minimum 18 inches of space at each end of the spa to ensure that the covers will open properly. 2. Locate the round plate on the bottom corner of the spa that says Power Cord and remove it. If you are going to operate your spa at 110v, simply remove the 15 electrical cord with the attached GFCI that is located behind this plate. Plug it into a dedicated 15 amp wall outlet, but do not depress any buttons on the GFCI breaker or top side control. If you are going to operate your spa at 220v, you must hire a certified electrician to install a 220v, 50amp GFCI breaker and to connect the wiring to your spa. Instructions to convert the spa from 110v to 220v are located on the inner wall of the removable cover of the equipment control pack. To locate control pack, first locate the panel with the vent, this will be the pump location, the panel beside it will expose the control pak. Ensure that the 220v breaker is disconnected until the spa is filled with water. 3. If you are not on city water and your source water contains metals, such as iron, do not fill the spa directly. Connect the pre filter from the parts bag to your garden hose. This will ensure that you start out with cleaner water. Open the spa covers and remove the filter cover and filter. Insert the end of your garden hose into the filter mounting pipe and begin to fill your spa. This will purge air from the water lines and it will make priming the pump easier. Fill the spa to the level of the highest holes in the filter cover. Do not turn the spa on until it is full. 4. When the spa is full, depress the reset button on the GFCI of the 110v cord or connect power for 220v. 5. Balance and sanitize your water as per the instructions and/or recommendations of your dealer. 6. Note: When you are not using your spa and the covers are closed, ensure that the 2 black air control knobs, located on the top ends of the spa, are in the closed position. This will prevent air from entering the spa when it is in filter mode and it will help to maintain your set temperature more efficiently. 7. The circuit board inside the control pack contains a set of 10 DIP Switches. Below is a quick reference for their settings for 110 voltage. COMPACT IDEAL-3 & IDEAL-4 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS SPA TOPSIDE CONTROL PANEL Every time the spa is powered up your Topside will be Priming Mode (Pr), press Jets button repeatedly until the spa moves some water in. Priming Mode lasts less than 5 minutes. Press Temp to exit. After Priming Mode, the spa will run in Standard Mode. Press Temp button; to display the set temperature. To change the set temperature, press the button a second time before the display stops flashing. Each press of the button will continue to either raise or lower the set temperature. If the opposite direction is desired, allow the display to revert to the current water temperature. Press the button to display the set temperature, and again to make the temperature change in the desired direction. Press Jets to turn the pump on or off, and to shift between low and high speeds. If left running, the pump will turn off after a preset length of time, which on some systems may be as long as 2 hours for low speed. Low speed may run automatically at times, during which it cannot be deactivated from the panel, but high speed may be operated. The ozone generator will activate only during filter cycles. Press Light to operate the spa light; Turns off automatically after 4 hours. If your spa is installed with LED lights press the Light on/off repeatedly to change between the different colors. JET PUMP Your Pumps Low-Speed is responsible for heating and filtration and will activate automatically to do so. High-Speed is for using the spa with Jets at maximum output for massage therapy. When in High-Speed other functions of the spa may not function (i.e. Heating; when connected to a 110v service). This pump filters and heats the spa and operates all the jets. JET OPERATIONS All jets can be shut on or off by turning the outer ring of the jet except ozone mixing nozzle in foot well. AIR CONTROLS Your South Pacific Spa has two (2) air controls located on the lip of the spa. These controls feed air to all jets and allows for more action on the jets by introducing air into the Jet Flow. Each air control functions a specific portion of the spas jets. Turn off the Air Controls when the spa is not in use for more efficient heating. FILTER SETTINGS The first filter cycle begins 6 minutes after the spa is energized. The second cycle begins 12 hours later and repeats every 12 hours thereafter. Filter duration is programmable for 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, or 8 hours. The default time is 1 hour. To program press "Temp" then "Jets." Press "Temp to adjust. Press "Jets" to exit programming. MODE To access the mode settings access the circuit board, locate the 10 dip switches in bottom center of the board and place the #7 switch in the up position. All systems are locked in standard mode until this is done. ERROR CODES Refer to the Balboa laminated card to understand error code messages and action required.

WHIRLPOOL JET Your South Pacific Spa has one (1) whirlpool jet control located in the foot well and controlled by the lever handle control of the spa. This control allows you to switch between using the Whirlpool Jet and all other Jets in the spa. Simply turn the diverter control to the left and/or right to switch between Jet and Whirlpool modes. AIR CONTROLS Your South Pacific Spa has two (2) air controls located on the lip of the spa. These controls feed air to all jets and allows for more action on the jets by introducing air into the Jet Flow. Each air control functions a specific portion of the spas jets. TROUBLESHOOTING SERVICE GUIDE **WARNING: Spa system contains live electricity shock hazard! Any work within the spa system should only be performed by QUALIFIED PERSONNEL** No Power to Spa: Check the house circuit for power, reset GFCI, check main fuse in spa Pak. GFI is Tripping: For a new installation on 220 volts the problem is most likely the wiring of the GFI breaker. For a Spa that has been running a while the problem can be isolated by unplugging or disconnecting the Ozonator, heater, pump and light one at a time and resetting the GFI to see if the spa stops tripping. *WARNING* disconnect heater last and remove only the circuit board connection for test always use a back up wrench on heater terminals so as not to twist terminals. On existing spas the Heater is the common cause of this problem. 220 Conversion Problems: Refer to instructions on the inside of the Spa Pak cover (If GFI trips instantly the problem is the neutral wire path in the GFI). Error Codes on Topside Display: Refer to operational guide error code section (Any flow codes maybe caused by a dirty filter). Spa Runs Constantly: Allow 24 hours for initial warm up and refer to operational guide, preset filter cycles set for F-2 or F-4 depending on usage FC will cause continuous running of the Spa, check Topside for error codes. Topside Display Malfunction: Check to see that dipswitch #3 is ON and #1and #2 are OFF. (Dipswitch s are located in the center of circuit board near the bottom) Dip Switch Settings: 110 voltage switch # s 3, 5, 7, 10 in the UP position. 220 voltage switch # s 3, 5, 7 in the UP position. 220 voltage with circ pump (2 pump system) switch # s 3, 5, 7, 9 in the Up position.

Spa Won t Heat Up: On 110 voltage, Spa will only gain 1.5 degree per hour and will not heat with pump on high speed. Close lids, allow proper warm up time, check for error messages on Topside display, check to see that Spa is not in economy or sleep mode, typically programmed out dipswitch (refer to operational guide) # 7 switch should be in the Up position. Check for correct voltage at heater terminals when heater light is on, heater light is located on topside control under the temp switch. Spa is Leaking: Make sure visible water is not from condensation, lid run off or overflow of tub. Make sure drain valve is closed, remove access panels to inspect for leak. Low Flow Problems: Change filter element, check to see that the pump is moving water (if no sign of moving water check for pump airlock, remove access panel with louvered vent, loosen upper pump union and allow air to bleed) check to be sure equipment isolation valves are in the Up or Open position (located in or near equipment compartment). Jet Low Flow Problems: Check to be sure the jets are turned to the Open position (Counterclockwise) and air control valve is in the Open position. Jets can be removed if necessary to check for blockage or for replacement, turn counterclockwise until you hear a click then pull straight out, be sure to reinstall in the correct position with tabs aligned to slot. Pump Problems: Refer to pump sheet. Pump Surges Constantly: Low water level. Pump runs but does not move water: Check for airlock, remove access panel with louvered vent, loosen upper pump union and allow air to bleed. **Any Spa replacement parts can be purchased through Dealer or on our parts website www.hardcoverspa.com**

PUMP TROUBLESHOOTING

The Trouble Free Serviceable Spa Most service calls can be handled on the phone. Side panel removal allows easy access to all interior spa plumbing for easy checking or repair. Total jet accessibility in minutes. Top of the line controls and pumps and best quality jets are standard on all Spas in the South Pacific line. All spare parts are instantly available from the factory, if not already in stock at the dealer. Service Guide 1. Refer to controls guide and be familiar with the key pad operations. 2. To connect the heater to 220 volts refer to the directions on the inside cover of the Spa control pack in the Spa side compartment. 3. Spa cover must be closed for the Spa to heat up. Heating time depends on air temperature, but generally a Spa should be on for 20 hours before using. The spa is equipped for 220 volts conversion for faster heating if desired. The Spa will automatically cycle on for 2 hours a day for filtration. Jets must be all open when the Spa is not used for proper heating and filtration. The Spa pump will continue to run until reaching the set temperature. 4. Use a dedicated circuit (20 Amp for FP100-20 and 15 Amp for FP100-15) within the 15 cord distance. 5. The Spa cord has a G.F.I protection device, if it repeatedly trips, disconnect the plug from the receptacle until the fault has been identified and corrected. 6. If an extension cord is used, it must be as short as possible and at least a 10 gage. Inferior cords will cause a Spa controls to mal function. 7. The heating Spa will cause condensation to form on the outside and bottom of the spa and can be reason to believe the Spa is leaking. Small apparent leaks should be given a few days before further investigation is started. Condensation on the cover underside may drip down the spa sides. 8. The Spa pump motor has an automatic high temperature shut off switch. If the motor stops it will auto start when it cools. 9. Leaks can occur if a Jet body is not properly tightened. If a leak is suspected, remove the decorative panel with a screwdriver. The insulation covering the jets is fiberglass or foam blocks which are easily taken out for a seat jet access. If the jet is leaking and does not stop with tightening then back off the nut and apply a silicone sealant. 10. Other tubing, manifolds, valves, etc. can be accessed throughout the Spa by removing other panels. 11. If a hole is in the Spa body, which is unlikely, it can be sealed only by melting the plastic into the hole. This is best done carefully using an electric soldering iron to soften the surrounding plastic and work into the hole. Spa must be thoroughly dry before applying the heat, so that there will be no steam formed as it will limit the temperature to 212F, not hot enough. Do not attempt to apply glues, fiberglass, caulking or other patches as the Spa shell is made of polyethylene which cannot be glued.

Set Up &Basic Operating Guide Read and Understand All Instructions before operating your Spa. Filling Your Spa Check that your Spa's drain valve (located behind the Spas drain cover/varies between models) is closed. With the electrical breaker in the OFF position and/or the power cord un-plugged, fill to an approximate water level of 2" above the top of the highest jet. Once the Spa is filled, power can then be supplied to your Spa. The Spa's heater will begin heating to the temperature selected on your control panel. (See Spa Controller Instructions Attached) Draining Your Spa Unplug the Spa's electrical power supply. The Spa must remain unplugged until re-filled with water. Remove the cap from the Spa's Drain hose and connect standard garden hose. Place the opposite end of the garden hose in the drainage area and open the Spa's drain valve. Adjusting Massage Jets To adjust for direction, rotate the "eyeball" of the jet in the desired direction. To adjust for flow, turn the outer knob clockwise to increase flow and counter clockwise to decrease flow. Do Not fully decrease flow to all of the jets at the same time. This may cause your pump to malfunction and ultimately fail. Air Adjustment To introduce air into your Massage Jets, Turn the Air Adjustment Dials (located on the Spa's top edge). Adjust the same as with the Massage Jets, clockwise to increase flow and counter clockwise to decrease flow. Suction Fitting Keep the suction fitting (located in the foot well area) of the Spa unobstructed and free from debris at all times. Do not remove the suction-fitting screen while the Spa is connected to electrical power. Selecting the right site for your new Spa It is important that your new Spa be installed on a Solid, Flat, and Level Surface that is engineered to carry a load of 75 pounds per square feet. The proper site of your New Spa is in an area that is Not Accessible to Children. Security or Pool Yard gates should be in place to separate Children from the Spa. Spas should not be placed near or below Electrical or telephone cables. If there is not a dedicated 120 Volt receptacle within the 10 feet of your Spa, contact a Licensed Electrician to supply power near the Spa. A GFCI Power Cord is supplied with all models. The GFCI power Cord must be tested each use to insure proper operation. To test, simply depress the button marked "TEST" on the GFCI Unit, the unit should stop operating and the reset button should appear. Push the reset button. The unit should now operate normally. If the interrupter does not perform in this manner, a ground current is following indicating the possibility of electric shock. Disconnect the power until the fault has been identified and corrected.

Care and Maintenance Instructions Cleaning the Filter Cartridges 1. Disconnect power 2. Remove the Filter Cover 3. Remove the Filter Cartridge by pulling straight up 4. Rinse Dirt and Debris away thoroughly with a garden hose 5. Replace Filter Cartridges and Cover. 6. Spa Power can then be turned back on Water Chemistry Read and Understand the Spa Chemistry Guidelines supplied by your dealer or chemical supplier. Some general guidelines and tips are listed on next page. It is Un-healthful to use your Spa when the water is not in proper Chemical Balance. Warning Do not use Calcium Hypochlorite's or Trichlors. Doing so may cause corrosion to your pump that will not be covered by your Spa's Warranty. Winterizing If the Spa is to be transported or stored in temperatures 32º F (0º C) or lower, it is critical that the Spa be fully winterized. 1. The Spa must be fully emptied 2. The drain valve must remain in the open position 3. The drain valve cap removed and stored 4. The Filter Cartridge Element must be removed, dried and stored. 5. Remove the plug bottom of the pump housing. Hard Top Covers & Surfaces 1. When not in use please keep cover strapped down at all times. Failure to do so may cause cover to bow and not close correctly. 2. Hot and Cold weather causes the material to expand and contact so gaps between the cover and spa may occur. As long as the gasket sits on the top edge of the spa. Any inconsistencies or small gaps around the edge of the cover are irrelevant. 3. The high-grade resin from which the spas are constructed can be easily cleaned with and mild soap and water solutions. 4. Screws on the cover arms may need to be tightened on occasion, depending on use.

Guide to Spa Water Chemistry General Guidelines for Initial Treatment Once the temperature of your hot tub reaches about 80º Fahrenheit (30º Celsius), you can start adding chemicals. Warm water will allow any granular chemicals to dissolve properly Test and adjust the ph of the water to 7.6-8.2 by adding either a capful of ph-up or ph-down (add ph up if the ph tests low and vice versa). Allow the water to filter for 30 minutes before retesting the ph. Sanitizing the spa water - Use an appropriate amount of Bromine/Chlorine (See instructions on the container or consult with your pool supply professional). ***If you are new to water maintenance, test your spa water with test strips daily to ensure you have a proper sanitizer level. If you are using an Ozone device, you can keep the bromine/chlorine level at the low end of 'ideal' on your test kit scale. You will find that your spa will use less of your sanitizer because the ozone is killing some of the bacteria. Cleaning your South Pacific Spa 1. Drain your spa water every 3 to 4 months, depending on use. 2. The filter should be cleaned every month or more frequently for high bather loads. Soak overnight in filter cartridge cleaner and rinse well before replacing in spa. 3. Refill spa with fresh water to the recommended level. The water line should cover all the upper jets in the spa. Weekly maintenance 1. Test water for bromine/chlorine, ph and alkalinity. 2. Adjust ph to 7.6-8.2 and alkalinity to 100. 3. Repeat sanitation as in the "initial treatment" (add bromine/chlorine as needed). 4. Rinse off the filter cartridge with fresh water. Soak the filter in cartridge cleaner monthly or more frequently if you have a large bather load. Ozone Systems 1. Ozone Systems only run during filter modes, to change run time of the systems, modify your Filtration times via your Topside Controller.

The use of alcohol, drugs or medication before or during spa or hot tub use may lead to unconsciousness with the possibility of drowning. Persons suffering from obesity or with a medical history of heart disease low or high blood pressure, circulatory system problems, or diabetes should consult a physician before using a spa or hot tub. Persons using medication should consult a physician before using a spa or hot tub since some medication may induce drowsiness while other medication may affect heart rate, blood pressure, and circulation. Hyperthermia occurs when the internal temperature of the body reaches a level several degrees above the normal body temp plus or minus temperature of 98.8 F. The symptoms of hyperthermia include dizziness, fainting, drowsiness, lethargy and an increase in the internal body temperature. The affects of hyperthermia include (1) unawareness of impending hazard, (2) Failure to perceive heat, (3) Failure for the need to exit the Spa, (4) Physical inability to exit Spa, (5) Fetal damage to pregnant women, and (6) Unconsciousness resulting in a danger of drowning. WARNING: The use of Alcohol, Drugs or medication can greatly increase the risk of fatal hyperthermia. DANGER: RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK Do not permit any electric appliance such as a light, telephone, radio or television within 5 feet of a spa or hot tub.

FACTORY LIMITED WARRANTY This warranty begins on date of delivery and it extends to the original purchaser, for the original installation only. If your Spa develops a defect that is covered under the terms of this warranty, it will be repaired by Fusion Pacific Inc. (FPI) or its authorized dealer. This warranty does not cover any spa that has been subject to misuse, neglect, negligence, accident, civil disturbance, acts of nature or that has been operated in a way contrary to the recommended operating instructions or that has not been installed as specified in the FPI operating manual; this warranty does not cover any Spa that has been modified or altered, except with parts or options that are authorized by FPI and installed according to recommended installation instructions, This warranty also does not cover any problems caused by improper water chemistry, improper PH balance, improper wiring, use of extension cords or failure to provide an isolated electrical service. This warranty does not cover any Spa that is being used for commercial purposes or has been operated extensively on display or that has been left uncovered or without water for long periods of time. Original owner must register their product by mailing the warranty card within 30 days from purchase. To obtain warranty service, contact your local, authorized dealer or FPI for the name of your nearest dealer. You must provide original proof of purchase documents. 1 year Limited Labor Warranty FPI s responsibility with respect to labor warranty is limited to repairing or replacing any defective part(s) for 1 year at its discretion. Not covered are electrical issues or other problems which are not from defects in manufacturing. LIFETIME Structural Warranty The structural integrity of the Spa is warranted to be free of defects for lifetime. Should the Spa structure develop a defect and not hold water within the warranty period, it will be repaired or replaced (at our discretion) by FPI. The labor cost of removing and reinstalling the original equipment in the new spa shell along with any related shipping charges are the responsibility of the Spa owner. LIFETIME ECO-HARDCOVER Warranty All South Pacific Spas are Equipped with ECO-HARDCOVER S they are warranted for Lifetime to be free from defect in materials and workmanship. They are molded with a high grade polyethylene resin for toughness. The expansion factor of this material however is very high and may cause some distortion during extreme temperature conditions which could cause the seal to part, clamps are installed to minimize this condition and should always be used. This condition would return to normal as temperature permits. It is the spa owner s responsibility to keep the spa well maintained and covered when not in use. Warpage is warranted at time of delivery only. The cost of removing, reinstalling and any related shipping charges are the responsibility of the Spa owner. 2 Year Plumbing Warranty South Pacific Spa warranties all plumbing parts to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from original date of purchase. This limited warranty specifically covers leaks from wall fittings jet fittings, internal plumbing, internal glue joint, drains, filter compartment and light lens. Component or Jet damage caused by chemical extremes and/or chemical imbalances in the water is not covered by warranty. 3 Year Component Warranty Spa parts, including top side control, spa control pack and heater are warranted to be free of defects or leaks for a period of 3 years from the OEM date of manufacturing. Defective components within 3 years will be replaced or repaired at our discretion 2 Year Pump Warranty All pumps are to be free of defects for a period of 2 years from OEM date of manufacture. 1 Year Other Warranties Items covered for one year include; ozone purification unit, led lighting systems, GFI power cord, mechanical components including jet internals, air controls, diverter valve Eco-hardcover arms Replaceable service items including light bulbs, pillows, filters, clamps and cover seals are not covered under this warranty but are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship at the time of delivery.
