The aim of the new harmonised Standard is to increase the safety standards in the use of power-operated pedestrian doorsets. AVOIDANCE OF DANGEROUS POINTS Manusa goes beyond the standards established in OPERATOR In closing cycle The range of Manusa Visio operators is certified in compliance with Standard EN60335 by Applus. The drive electronics of Manusa Visio operators comply with EN16849 performance level d, certified by TÜV for all doorsets. F Manusa HDS hybrid sensors, located at both sides of the door, feature a safety detection system via active infra-red sensors (AIR) which prevent contact between the doorset and the pedestrian in the whole closing area. The range of Manusa Visio operators features, as standard, an electronic control system for the impact force in the leaf closing cycle. Protection against crushing and impact during the closing cycle may be implemented with: Sensors: PSPE or ESPE (when a large proportion of users are elderly, infirm, disabled people, young children or people with reduced mobility). Impact forces limitation. Low energy movement. Requirements of electrical safety in accordance with EN60335. Safety regarding parts of the control system shall comply with EN13849 performance level c. SENSORS Monitored Manusa HDS-B and HPS sensors comply with EN16849 performance level c certified by TÜV. Monitored Manusa HDS-A sensors for escape routes offer a performance level d certified by TÜV, in accordance with EN13849. NOTE: According to EN13849, a performance level c means that the probability of failure per hour is less than 3 in 1 million and, for performance level d, less than 1 in 1 million. LE F Low energy movement available. In opening cycle Design in accordance with the necessary safety distances required by the Standard. The range of Manusa Visio Operators features, as standard, an electronic control system for the impact force during the opening cycle, regardless of the safety distances applied. Manusa offers personalised guarding solutions for every project, depending on the doorset and the space available. LE Protection against drawing in, shearing, crushing and impact during the opening cycle may be implemented with: Sufficiently dimensioned safety distances. Impact forces limitation. Barriers or guards. Sensors: PSPE or ESPE (when a large proportion of the users are elderly, disabled people, young children or people with reduced mobility). Low energy movement. The Manusa HDS sensor range located at the sides features safety detection via active infrared systems (AIR), preventing any contact between the leaves and the pedestrian in the whole opening area. REQUIREMENTS FOR DOORSETS IN ESCAPE ROUTES AND EMERGENCY EXITS Manusa Smart Selector features, as standard, a locking PIN for accessing the change mode function. The access to the mode of operation shall be protected. The drive electronics of Manusa Visio operator range complies with EN16849 performance level d, certified by TÜV for all doorsets. Without panic break-out function The drive electronics of Manusa Visio operator range complies with EN16849 performance level d, certified by TÜV, with a safe mode opening system and battery status control in all doorsets. OPTION C048: additional 100% mechanical system to open the door in the event of an emergency due to electrical failure. Monitored Manusa HDS-A sensors for escape routes and adjustable detection distance up to 4 metres offer a performance level d certified by TÜV, in accordance with EN13849. Opening drive electronics needs to comply with EN13849 performance level d. Interior activation sensors (configured to activate at a minimum distance of 1.5 metres) must be in accordance with EN13849 performance level d. In case of activation signals, the doorset must open at least 80% of the clear opening within 3 seconds. The opening of the doorset shall be guaranteed by a safe mode in accordance with performance level d of EN13849. Any electrical fault shall be detected within 15 seconds and cause the doorset to automatically open, at the latest after 5 seconds. The system shall monitor the battery. With panic break-out function The release force of Manusa SOS and Easy SOS break-out system complies with the Standard. Manusa doorsets feature adhesive safety pictograms indicating the break-out function, and signals for mobile leaves. Operator and sensors need to comply performance level c. Total force required to release the break-out function shall not exceed 220 N. A pictogram shall be fixed on all doors with break-out function.
TESTING Manusa Visio doorsets have been subjected to durability tests of more than 2.5 million cycles certified by UL, guaranteeing durability levels well above the requirements stated in the Standard. Durability tests, both at ambience and extreme temperatures. Emergency exits shall be subjected to a minimum durability test of 1 million cycles. MAINTENANCE Manusa Service performs maintenance operations in all kind of power-operated doorsets at a global level, and it is certified by UL in compliance with the UNE 85121 Standard regarding installation, use and maintenance of power-operated pedestrian doorsets. A Manusa doorset where routine maintenance checks are performed by Manusa Service, guarantees a safe door in compliance with regulations during its whole life-cycle. Doorsets shall undergo routine maintenance according to the manufacturer s instructions and at least, once a year.
