Safety Read this manual carefully before starting or using the device. Store the manual near the device or its site of use! Danger! Improper use of the heating device can result in severe injuries due to burns, fire hazard or electric shocks. Ensure a minimum distance of 50 cm to combustible substances. Do not use the device in rooms where fuel, solvents, varnishes or other easily inflammable vapours are stored. Do not use the device in immediate proximity to curtains. Keep away from children and animals. Only connect the device to the mains, if voltage and frequency correspond to the values given on the nameplate. Only use three-wire extension cables with an adequate cross-section. Disconnect the device from the mains, if it is not in use. Do not place the device directly underneath a window or electric socket. If the device is stored in an unsafe location, make sure, that it cannot be operated and the power supply is disconnected at all times. Do not use this heating device in immediate proximity to sinks, bathtubs, showers or swimming pools. Unplug the device from the mains before starting with maintenance, service or repair work. Never cover the device with anything, otherwise it could overheat. Intended use Only use the device TDS 100 to heat enclosed spaces such as storage facilities, salesrooms, flats as well as to heat humid or wet surroundings, e.g. on building sites, whilst adhering to the technical data. The device conforms to the norms EN 60335-1:2002+A11, A1:04+A12, A2:06 EN 60335-2-30:2003+A1:04+A2:07 EN 50366:2003+A1:06 and the low-voltage directive 2006/95/EC. Packaging Remove all packing materials which serve to protect the device during transport. Extract all individual parts from the box. Operation Warning! Read and observe the warnings and instructions in the Safety chapter. Abide by it to ensure a safe operation of this heating device. Check that the power supply cable is intact. If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, his customer service or similarly qualified personnel. Make sure that the electrical properties of the socket correspond to the values specified in the operating manual or on the nameplate. Place the device on even ground. Switch-on of the device Connect the power supply cable with the mains and turn the switch into the desired position: Manual unlocking The device is provided with a safety thermostat, which is activated by overheating of the device. When the safety thermostat is activated, allow the device to cool down. Only then start to look for a cause of the overheating. Unlock the device by pressing the RESET button with a pointed object. Should the problem continue to exist, please contact the customer service. Storage and regular checks If you have do not use the device for extended periods of time, thoroughly clean it before putting it away. Store it in a dry location and protect it against dust. Before restarting the device, check the condition of the power cable. If there are doubts as to the sound condition, contact the customer service. Have the device checked once a year at any rate. Only expert staff trained and authorized by the manufacturer may carry out maintenance activities on the device. 1. Fan only 2. Minimum 3. Maximum Switch-off Keep the fan running for 3 minutes, before switching the device off. Turn the switch into position 0. Regulation of the room thermostat RESET Adjust the room temperature by turning the rotary switch of the room thermostat. Errors and faults Fault Cause Remedy The device works, but does not heat. The device does not switch on. The air current is reduced. The heating resistor has blown. Room thermostat is defective. The safety thermostat is activated. Motor is defective. Connections are interrupted. Air inlet is blocked. Fan motor is defective. Press RESET button. Unplug and check connections. Clean air inlet and remove obstruction. Disposal In the European Union, electronic equipment must not be treated as domestic waste, but must be disposed of professionally in accordance with Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament and Council of 27th January 2003 concerning old electrical and electronic equipment.
