When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should be observed, including the following: Always connect to a polarized outlet (left slot is wider than right). Unplug from outlet when not in use and before conducting maintenance. WARNING TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY:» Do not direct steam at people, animals, or at electrical outlets.» Do not expose to rain.» Store indoors.» Unplug from outlet when not in use and before conducting maintenance or troubleshooting.» Do not leave steam cleaner unattended.» Do not expose hair, loose clothing, fingers or body parts to openings or moving parts.» Do not service steam cleaner when it is plugged in.» Do not handle steam cleaner with wet hands.» Do not use steam cleaner if it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors or dropped into water, return it to a service center.» Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close door on cord, pull cord around sharp corners or edges, or expose cord to heated surfaces.» Do not unplug by pulling on cord.» Do not use appliance in an enclosed space filled with vapor given off by oil-base paint, paint thinner, some moth proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.» Do not allow to be used as a toy.» Do not use on leather, wax polished furniture or floors, synthetic fabrics, velvet or other delicate, steam-sensitive materials.» Do not immerse.» Not for space heating purposes» Do not use for any purpose other than described in this User s Guide.» Use only manufacturer s recommended attachments use of attachments not provided or sold by BISSELL may cause fire, electric shock or injury.» Never put descaling, aromatic, alcoholic or detergent products into the steam cleaner, as this may damage it or make it unsafe for use.» Unplug by grasping the plug, not the cord.» Close attention is necessary when used by or near children. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE USE This model is for household use only. Commercial use of this unit voids the manufacturer s warranty. THIS APPLIANCE HAS A POLARIZED PLUG To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install a proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way. 2

To avoid danger of suffocation, keep away from babies and children. WARNING Do not plug in your steam mop until you are familiar with all instructions and operating procedures. Assembly Your steam mop assembles quickly and easily. Your steam mop is packaged with the following items: Handle Assembly Lower Body Maneuverable Mop Head Removable Water Tank 1 Mop Pad 1. Attach lower body to mop head and screw until tightened. 2. Slide handle assembly into lower body until it snaps into place and screw until tightened. Your steam mop assembly is now complete. Operations Special features Removable water tank The water tank is located on the top of the steam mop. It can be refilled with water any time during use. Distilled or demineralized water is recommended in place of tap water. Do not use chemicals with your steam mop. Indicator light The indicator light will illuminate red when the steam mop is plugged in. After about 20 seconds, the light will illuminate green when the steam mop is ready to use. Tip» Do not attempt to use your steam mop without water in the tank. Steam on demand trigger Press to release steam and hold trigger for continuous steam. Microfiber Mop Pad The reusable microfiber mop pad is machine washable and safe for all hard floor surfaces. The all-white soft pad is best for everyday use on delicate flooring like sealed hardwoods and laminate. 6

Operations Getting ready The mop pad may have already come attached to the mop head, if not follow steps 1a and 1b below. 1. Attach mop pad a. Set mop head in mop pad, making sure toggle is located on the back. b. Tighten mop pad by pulling on elastic cord while pressing on toggle. 2. Fill the water tank a. Remove tank by lifting straight up and away from unit. b. Unscrew cap at bottom of water tank. c. Fill water tank with water. For best results, water should be at room temperature. d. Replace the cap, tighten until snug. e. Replace water tank by gently sliding tank into place. 3. Twist the quick release cord wrap clockwise to unwrap the power cord completely and plug into a 120-Volt outlet as described on the Important Safety Instructions, page 2. 4. The indicator light will illuminate red when the steam mop is plugged in. After about 20 seconds, the light will illuminate green when the steam mop is ready to use. NOTE: Upon first use of the steam mop or first use after refilling the water tank, the pump may make a knocking sound. This is normal and should only last a few seconds. While in use, the pump will continue to make a soft knocking sound. This is also normal. 1a. 1b. 2a. 2d. 2b. 2e. Tip» Use of distilled water is recommended to prolong the life of your steam mop. 7

Operations Before you clean Thoroughly sweep or vacuum floor prior to cleaning with the steam mop. Cleaning hard floors Your steam mop is designed to clean hard flooring such as ceramic tile, vinyl, laminate, marble, stone and sealed hard wood floors. Use of your steam mop on waxed or some unwaxed floors may result in a diminished glossiness. The steam mop is not for use on unsealed wood floors. For best results test in an inconspicuous area and check the care instructions from your flooring manufacturer. 1. Plug the unit in and wait 20 seconds for it to heat up. Begin cleaning by slowly passing over surface while pressing the steam on demand trigger to emit steam as needed. 2. When the steam mop stops emitting steam, unplug the unit. Simply remove the water tank, refill, and continue cleaning. 8

Maintenance & Care When you re done 1. Unplug power cord from outlet. 2. Carefully remove mop pad from mop head, as mop pad and lower assembly may be hot. 3. Any water remaining in the water tank should be emptied prior to machine storage. 4. Mop pad can be machine washed in warm water. Use only liquid detergents. Do not use fabric softeners. For best results, air dry. 5. Wrap power cord around quick release cord wrap on side of steam mop. 6. Wipe all surfaces of steam mop with a soft cloth. Store upright in a protected, dry area. WARNING To reduce the risk of electric shock, turn power switch off and disconnect polarized plug from electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks. CAUTION Upright storage of the Steam mop with a wet mop pad may result in the formation of white marks on your floor. To remove the white marks, clean area with vinegar. 9

Troubleshooting WARNING To reduce the risk of electric shock, turn power switch off and disconnect polarized plug from electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting checks. Problem Possible causes Remedies Reduced steam or no steam Mop pad falling off Water tank empty Water tank not inserted properly. Elastic cord not tightened Fill tank Remove water tank and insert properly into unit. Tighten mop pad by pulling on elastic cord while pressing on toggle.
