IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Follow the basic safety precautions When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following: Read all instructions. To protect against fire, electic shock and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or body of machine in water or other liquid. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment. The use of accessory attachement not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury to persons. Do not use outdoors. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven. Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to»off«, then remove plug from wall outlet. Important information Proper use The machine is intended to cool milk in the supplied milk container and keep it fresh for use with a JURA automatic coffee machine. Use for any other purpose will be deemed improper. JURA Elektroapparate AG cannot accept any responsibility for the consequences of improper use. Before using the machine always read these instructions for use thoroughly and completely and comply with the instructions they contain. Keep these instructions for use close to the machine and pass them on to the next user if applicable. For your safety Please read and note carefully the following important safety information. To avoid the life-threatening danger of electric shock: 16 Never use a machine which has been damaged or with a defective mains cable. Never use the machine when you have wet hands. Make sure the mains cable is dry before first-time use. Only connect the machine to the AC mains power with the mains cable supplied with the machine. In the event of signs of damage, for example if there is a smell of burning, unplug the machine immediately from the mains supply and contact JURA service. If the mains cable or the machine is damaged, it must be repaired either directly by JURA or by a JURA authorised service centre. Make sure that the machine and the mains cable are not located close to hot surfaces or naked flames. Be careful to ensure that the mains cable does not get caught and does not rub against sharp edges. Never open and repair the machine yourself. Do not modify the machine in any way that is not described in the instructions for use. The machine contains live parts. Repairs may only be carried out by JURA approved service centres, using original spare parts and accessories.

de A defective machine is not safe and could cause injury or fire. To avoid damage and any associated risk of injury or fire: Ensure that the ventilation slots are not covered. Never allow the mains cable to loosely hang down. The mains cable can be tripped over or damaged. Protect the machine from environmental influences such as rain, frost and direct sunlight. Do not put the machine, cables or connectors in water. Do not put the machine or any individual parts in the dishwasher. The cleaning container and milk container are dishwasher-safe. Turn the machine off and disconnect the mains plug before starting any cleaning operation. Always wipe the machine with a damp cloth rather than a wet one, and protect it from prolonged water splash. Only connect the machine to the mains voltage in accordance with the information on the rating plate. The rating plate is located on the underside of the machine. Further technical data is given in Chapter 6, Technical data. If you are absent for a prolonged period of time, turn the machine off. Do not leave the machine unattended when it is in operation. Children may not clean or service the machine unless supervised by a responsible person. Do not allow children to play with the machine. Keep children under the age of 8 away from the machine, or supervise them constantly. Children aged 8 and over may only operate the machine without supervision if they have been instructed in how to use it safely. Children must be able to recognise and understand the potential dangers arising from incorrect use. The machine is only allowed to be used by people who can use it safely. 1 Preparation This chapter provides you with the information you need to prepare your step by step for its first use. Supplied as standard The following items are supplied as standard: Instructions for use Milk container with cover Cleaning container with cover Mains cable Docking cartridge (fitted) Milk pipe (2x) Riser pipes Front cover for IMPRESSA X9 UU with cover (chrome-plated) Front cover for IMPRESSA X7 Connect the mains cable to the machine. Insert the mains plug into a power socket. Connecting machine to IMPRESSA X9 Position the to the left of the IMPRESSA X9 with the aid of the positioning tab. Open the front flap. Insert the cartridge. Set-up and connection When setting up and connecting your Compressor Cooler Pro, please proceed as follows: Set the machine down on a horizontal surface that is not sensitive to water. Choose a spot for the machine which is protected against overheating. Before using your new machine for the first time wipe it carefully on the inside and outside with a damp cloth for reasons of hygiene. If the has been lying on its side for a long time (e.g. during transport), it must be allowed to stand upright for at least half an hour prior to first-time use. Please consult the rating plate on the underside of the before connecting the machine. JJ WARNING If the machine is operated with a defective mains cable, there is a danger of electric shock. Never use a machine which has a defective mains cable. Connect the milk pipes to the front cover of the cartridge. Connect the other ends of the milk pipes to the IMPRESSA X9. 18

Remove the two pipes. Remove the front cover for the IMPRESSA X9. Connect the longer pipe as shown in the illustration. 2 Cooling milk Fill the milk container with milk. Fit the cover on the milk container. Insert the two riser pipes in the milk container. Open the front flap. Slide the milk container into the Compressor Cooler Pro as far as it will go. Press down the connection tab on the cartridge. it nl es Insert the front cover for the IMPRESSA X7. Close the cartridge. Open the front flap of the Compressor Cooler Pro. Guide the milk pipe of the IMPRESSA X7 through the side opening of the Compressor Cooler Pro. Position the to the left of the IMPRESSA X7 with the aid of the positioning tab. Q T Switch the machine on with the on/off button. The operation indicator lamp lights up and the machine starts to cool the milk. Close the front flap. The machine switches on and off automatically during cooling. In this way, your always keeps the temperature of the milk in the optimum range. The milk cannot freeze. 19 pt sv ru

If you want to stop cooling, press the on/off button. Condensation may form inside the machine during operation. This should be removed with a cloth. If the will not be used for a long period, leave the front flap open. 3 Maintenance and cleaning Maintenance Do not use any sharp, corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents or hard objects for maintenance. These could damage the machine, the individual parts and the plastic container. Before cleaning the machine disconnect the mains plug from the power socket. Wipe the inside and outside of the machine with a damp cloth. Rinse the plastic container and the individual parts thoroughly with running water. Cleaning To ensure that the works perfectly, you should clean it daily using JURA Cappuccino Cleaner. JURA Cappuccino Cleaner is available from stockists. Fill the cleaning container on the side marked 6 with water up to the level indicated and add 1.5 capfuls (max. 15 ml) of Cappuccino Cleaner. Fill the other side (marked, ) with fresh water up to the level indicated. Open the front flap. Slide the connection tab on the cartridge upwards and remove the milk container. Remove the two riser pipes from the milk container. Place the riser pipes in the cleaning container, on the side with the cleaning solution (indicated by 6). Slide the cleaning container into the as far as it will go. Press down the connection tab on the cartridge. Now start Milk system cleaning (IMPRESSA X7: Cappuccino system cleaning ) as described in the instructions for use for the coffee machine. As soon as your coffee machine requests fresh water for cleaning, remove the cleaning container. Lift the cover, turn the cleaning container and replace the cover so that the riser pipes are in the fresh water side (indicated by,). Slide the cleaning container into the as far as it will go. Press down the connection tab on the cartridge. Now continue with Milk system cleaning as described in the instructions for use. 4 Troubleshooting The milk container is frozen up. UU Open the front flap, switch off the Compressor Cooler Pro and wait several minutes. UU Remove the condensation that forms with a cloth. The milk container will not go all the way in. UU Slide the connection tab on the cartridge upwards. 5 Transport and environmentally neutral disposal Transport Keep the packaging of your Compressor Cooler Pro. It should be used to protect the machine during transport. Clean the milk container before transport. 20
