DEW DILIGENCE MEMBRANE DRYERS A Proven Technology That Increases Equipment Reliability Membrane air drying technology has been proven to make it easier and less expensive to provide pneumatic equipment and instrumentation with clean, dry compressed air. This reliable technology helps ensure that no condensate, oxidation and microbiological growth occur in your compressed air equipment. Reliable and predictable performance of pneumatic equipment and instrumentation saves money by reducing component failures, downtime, and maintenance. Compact, Lightweight, Cost Effective Compact and lightweight, Dew Diligence Membrane air dryers easily integrate into existing compressed air systems with minimal effort and installation cost. Dew Diligence dryers are cost effective and simple to operate. Simply mount and make connections to the inlet and outlet of the dryer. There are no adjustments, no valves, no drains to install and no electrical connections. Maintenance Free Design - No Moving Parts Dew Diligence dryers are maintenance free and have no moving parts, no desiccant, and no refrigerants. The Polymeric hollow fibre membrane requires no maintenance and requires only that it be protected from ingestion of free liquids, oil and other contaminants using an oil coalescing prefilter with a.1 micron rated element. Routine element maintenance of the filter will ensure years of trouble-free dryer operation. DEW-DILIGENCE MEMBRANE DRYERS MEMBRANE TECHNOLOGY APPL DEW-DILIGENCE Membrane air dryers use a structurally packed arrangement of hollow fibers. Fibers repeatedly placed and wound around a centre core, create an optimized and compact design that maximizes the drying performance and reduces the required footprint. Small amount of dry air sent back in through a calibrated purge orifice Dry Air Out Membrane Dry air sweeps away water vapor around the fibers Water Vapor Purge Single Fiber Wet Air In Dry air sweeps the moisture away from the outside of the fibers Water vapour diffuses through the walls of the fiber How Membrane Technology Works 1. Hollow fibers allow water vapour to pass through the membrane while retaining the compressed air (selective permeability). 2. As the humid compressed air flows down the bore of the fiber, water vapour diffuses through the walls of the fibers. 3. At the units outlet, a small volume of the dry compressed air is expanded and released into the space surrounding the outside for the fibers. 4. This dry air sweeps the moisture away from the outside of the fibers and exhausts to the atmosphere as a humid air stream. 5. As a result, the membrane rapidly and continuously provides dry compressed air. www.airpowerproducts.com info@airpowerproducts.com
DEW-DILIGENCE MEMBRANE DRYERS Models are available for flows up to 37 SCFM in an in-line design. Higher volume flows can be achieved through a parallel connection of several modules. Factors such as flow rates, temperatures and pressures influence the draying efficiency of the air dryer. Depending on these variables, the APPL Dew Diligence Membrane Air Dryers can achieve dew point reductions from 2 C to 75 C (68 F to 167 F). For special applications, APPL offers customized application-specific air dryers. APPL COMPRESSOR DRYER PACKAGES DEW POINTS TO MINUS 4 C COMPACT - EASY INSTALLATION LOW MAINTENANCE ONE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION ONE AIR CONNECTION LUBRICATED OR OIL-LESS PUMPS PURGE WHILE PUMPING ONLY CONTROLS The advantage of specifying an APPL compressor/dryer package is economy of operation. Your Dew Diligence air dryer will purge only while the compressor is operating on your pre-assembled APPL package. You will benefit by substantially reducing the compressor operating time. This will result in not only reducing electrical power consumption, but also reducing the compressor start/stop frequency. The result will be lower maintenance for components such as vee belts, valves, bearings, and motors. Our system includes all of the electrical components necessary for the operation of the compressor and dryer. Our control package includes magnetic motor starter, control voltage transformer, pressure switches, terminal strips and all necessary control valves. Special features such as hour meters, low pressure alarms, dew point monitors and more, can be specified to custom suit user requirements. The complete package is QPS special inspection approved for installation in all Canadian provinces. Our system includes important features such as orifice flow control to ensure that the dryer cannot operate below acceptable pressure levels, ensuring maximum drying efficiency. Also included is an automatic valving system to isolate the dryer from service while the compressor is off, eliminating purging when not required. Two pressure switches are used to maintain both user system pressure and receiver pressure. Selecting an APPL compressor/dryer package will ensure a quick payback compared to the installation of separate components on site.
