ROOF GARDEN CCW Green Roof Systems By Columbia Green Technologies Carlisle Coatings & Waterproofing, Incorporated, is part of the Carlisle Construction Materials division of Carlisle Companies, Inc., which is a publicly traded company on the NYSE. CCW offers a complete line of waterproofing and moisture protection products for the architectural, general construction, industrial and maintenance industries. CCW is proud to offer a new line of innovative green roof products developed by Columbia Green Technologies. Green roofs, also known as eco-roofs or vegetative roofs, are increasingly common. There are many environmental and economic benefits to the implementation of green roofs contributing to the rapid industry growth. The plantings provide elements of design to an otherwise un-used space and the plant material improves air quality by sequestering air-borne particulates and pollutants. The green roof can reduce the temperature of the surrounding ambient air, thereby reducing the heat island effect. The green roof protects the roof material, increasing its useful life. Perhaps most importantly, green roofs can reduce both the amount and rate of stormwater run-off, making them a real asset to cities struggling with aging storm and sewer infrastructure. Columbia Green Technologies provides the most appropriate green roof for your project, rather than a one-size-fitsall approach. Each comprehensive green roof solution is engineered to meet the unique challenges of the rooftop growing environment. Features & Benefits Reduces the amount of stormwater runoff and also delays the time at which runoff occurs Green roofs can sustain a variety of plants Roof membrane lifespan increases two to three times Provides year-round energy savings; the thermal blanket saves energy and costs for both heating and cooling as many as fourteen Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) credits Aesthetics: attractive spaces and increased property value Built-in-Place Assemblies Systems are Roof-top Assembled & Consist of the Following Components: Drainage layer prevents ponding and moving excess water across the roof surface to the nearest drain Filter layer prevents gravitational erosion of the growing media Retention layer provides supplemental moisture retention for plant water, high porosity for root aeration, and anchorage for plant root. Available in.5-inch or 1-inch thicknesses Growing media Edger for perimeter stability Built-in-Place Assemblies Systems are Flexible & Offer a Wide Variety of Options for the Designer Compatible with curvilinear or organically shaped roof layouts Maximum soil depth fl exibility- anywhere from 3 inches to 24 inches+ of media depth Built-in-Place Systems provide the widest range of design possibilities, from cost-effective, extensive systems to intensive rooftop gardens.
ROOF GARDEN CCW Green Roof Systems By Columbia Green Technologies Pre-Grown Tray Systems Ease of Installation The Pre-Grown Tray Systems were designed for ease of installation. Each of the individual functions found in the layered assembly is inherent to the tray, thus eliminating the need for separate drainage mats, root barriers, fi lter fabric, etc. The patented interlocking and overlapping tray system was designed to maximize stormwater retention and form a monolithic assembly which protects the roof from plants and growing media. Plants are grown in the trays to 90% coverage (or as specifi ed) before being shipped to the jobsite. Columbia Green Technologies Tray systems are designed with continuous troughs for maximum stormwater retention. The researchbacked Hydrology tool can be used to predict peak fl ow and retention through the tray system. Maximum stormwater retention capability Ease of installation Optimal growing environment for plants Interlocking tray edges prevent shifting, media spillage, and contribute to wind uplift resistance Below: Madison Public Library Green Roof, Madison, WI, Designed by Myer, Scherer, and Rockcastle, ltd. and installed in 2013. Pre-Grown Trays are simple and easy to install modular systems.
Planted-in-Place Systems Unlimited Options Utilizing a tray system as a base, Planted-in-Place systems are easy and effi cient to install, as empty trays are fi rst laid out, then fi lled with growing medium and planted on site. This installation process is designed to be cleaner, less wasteful, and require less labor than other options currently on the market. While traditional Pre-Grown tray systems have long lead times and must be installed at once, the Planted-in-Place system can be installed in phases and is available on demand making it the most dynamic and fl exible option available. The Planted-in-Place systems offers variable growing medium depth and more planting options than traditional pre-grown tray solutions allowing for greater design fl exibility and a unique look for each installation. The Planted-in-Place system may include integrated drip irrigation, eliminating the need for hand watering and ensuring the lasting health of the green roof. All Tray Systems are designed with continuous troughs for maximum stormwater retention. They reduce both the amount and rate of stormwater run-off and are capable of retaining up to 70% of the precipitation that falls on them. Pre-grown sedum mats and tiles give a grown-in look immediately upon installation Simple to install Minimizes labor, material and maintenance costs Shortens lead time Maximizes design possibilities Integrated irrigation for lowered maintenance costs Above: Apple Retail Store, Portland, OR, Designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jacksona and installed in 2014. Planted-in-Place Tray Systems combine the flexibility of Built-in-Place assembly with ease of use and are engineered to maximize stormwater retention.
ROOF GARDEN CCW Green Roof Systems By Columbia Green Technologies Planting Options Engineered Growing Media Experience and Expertise Our planting options are custom-matched and most often regionally sourced to meet each project s design and installation parameters. Sedums are the most common choice for green roof planting. They require little maintenance and watering and thrive in many environments. A variety of foliage and fl ower colors are available. Plants are available in un-rooting sedum cuttings, plugs, pre-grown sedum tiles (15" x 20") and pre-grown sedum mats (4' x 6'). Columbia Green Technologies Tray systems are designed with continuous troughs for maximum stormwater retention. The research-backed Hydrology tool can be used to predict peak fl ow and retention through the tray system. Various options are available: Cuttings Plugs Tiles or Mats Our engineered growing media is lightweight and FLL-approved for roof garden applications and can be applied at the specifi ed depth on Carlisle Roof Garden assemblies.
