APPLIANCES, HOUSEHOLD, SMALL, Goodwill in Menomonee Falls Located at W178 N9315 Water Tower Place is now accepting numerous small household appliances whether they work or not to include but not limited to coffee pots, toasters, blenders, mixers, electric knives, vacuum cleaners, phones, etc.as of May, 2015, Goodwill does not accept dehumidifiers. See dehumidifiers below. Goodwill will no longer accepts any televisions. Take all other televisions to Best Buy located at N94W16855 Falls Pkwy, Menomonee Falls, call 262-255- 2972 for fees. If you question whether Goodwill will accept an item, call 262-253-0018 to confirm that they will accept. Goodwill does not accept large appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, etc Call Refrigerant Recovery, Inc. 414-643-7740 for free pickup services if outside, in home removal services also available for a fee, Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, weekends by appointment. BATTERIES, Regular alkaline batteries (AAA, AA, C, D, 9 volt and button) can safely be disposed of in the trash. However, Batteries & Bulbs Plus (formerly Batteries Plus) will take alkaline batteries for recycling for a small fee per pound. Vehicle, RV, Boat, Lawn Mower lead-acid batteries: State law prohibits disposal of lead acid batteries in landfills or incinerators. State law also requires that all vehicle battery retailers accept used lead-acid batteries at no charge from anyone purchasing a battery from them. Proof of purchase may be required before a retailer will accept your used battery. If you have used batteries but aren't purchasing new ones, contact any battery retailer to compare charges. 1

Cell Phone batteries should be recycled, recycling bags are available at the Village Hall or Email pw@menomonee-falls.org to request the bags and they will be mailed to you or take to a retailer. Small lead batteries, Rechargeable batteries (Li-ion, Ni-Cd, NI-MH, Ni-MH, Ni-Cd, SSLA/Pb, Ni-Zn, Li-lon.) including all types of batteries used in digital cameras, camcorders, printers, PDAs, power tools and other small electronics can be recycled at any of the several businesses listed below. All types of cell phones, cordless phones and sealed lead batteries up to 11 lbs will also be accepted for recycling. Call the following locations to confirm that they still accept the type that you have. CARPET, Call 1-888-960-0008 to schedule a bulk pickup which is on Mondays and free of charge. Only 2 items are allowed per week. Pickup days and rules are subject to change. CELL PHONES, CELL PHONE BATTERIES AND INKJET CARTRIDGES, These must be recycled. Postage-paid mail-back bags to recycle these items are available to residents at the Village Hall call 532-4200 call 532-4200 or Email pw@menomonee-falls.org to request the bags and they will be mailed to you or take to a retailer. CHEMICALS, Can be disposed of at the Household Hazardous Waste Site located at the Veolia Environmental Services, W124 N9451 Boundary Road/124th Street, call 262-255-6655 for hours of operation and to confirm that they accept the type of chemical that you wish to dispose of. COMPUTERS & RELATED EQUIPMENT, Goodwill in Menomonee Falls Located at W178 N9315 Water Tower Place is now accepting numerous electronics whether they work or not to include but not limited to computers, printers, scanners & faxes, etc. If you question whether Goodwill will accept an item, call 253-0018 to confirm that they will accept. CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS, ASPHALT, ROCKS, STONES, DRYWALL, PLASTER, SHINGLES, AND SIDING, Call Waste Management at 1-888-960-0008 to order the Bagster Service. COOKING OIL, Used cooking oil can be disposed of by taking to Cream City Grecycling 1626 S. Harbor Dr., Milwaukee, 414-486-1513, jake@sustainablefox.com. Cream City Grecycling converts used cooking oil into a clean, renewable diesel fuel substitute called biodiesel. They accept and PAY for used cooking oil from residents. 2

DEHUMIDIFIERS, As of May, 2015, Goodwill no longer accepts dehumidifiers. Recycle Technologies accepts them for a fee, 262-798-3040, 1480 S. Springdale Road, Waukesha OR call Refrigerant Depot for charges at 414-627-1152, pickup services Monday through Saturday, 8am to 8pm. OR Refrigerant Recovery, Inc. 414-643-7740, pickup services Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, weekends by appointment. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS, Fire Extinguishers can be thrown in the garbage AFTER the contents are released outside away from people, vehicles and trees, etc. If you do not know how to empty the contents, you may drop off your fire extinguisher at Fire Station #3, W140 N7501 Lilly Road, 262-532-8808. FURNITURE, Call Waste Management at 1-888-960-0008 to schedule a bulk pickup which is on Mondays and free of charge. Only 2 items are allowed per week.. Pickup days and rules are subject to change. GASOLINE, Old gasoline and mixed can ONLY be disposed of at the Household Hazardous Waste Site located at the Veolia Environmental Services, W124 N9451 Boundary Road/124th Street, call 262-255-6655 for hours of operation and to confirm that they still accept. GLASS, See windows HAZARDOUS MATERIAL, Asbestos material such as floor tile, ceiling tiles, etc., can be taken to the household hazardous waste site located at the Veolia Environmental Services, W124 N9451 Boundary Road/124th Street, call 262-255-6655 for hours of operation, to current confirm charges and to confirm that they still accept. The charges are currently $60 per ton. INKJET CARTRIDGES, CELL PHONES AND CELL PHONE BATTERIES, These must be recycled. Postage-paid mail-back bags to recycle these items are available to residents at the Village Hall call 532-4200 or Email pw@menomonee-falls.org to request the bags and they will be mailed to you or take to a retailer. LAWNMOWERS, SNOWBLOWERS, ROTOTILLERS & OTHER SMALL EQUIPMENT, Drain all fluids, oil, gas, etc., call 1-888-960-0008 to schedule a bulk pickup which is on Mondays and free of charge. Only 2 items are allowed per week. Pickup days and rules are subject to change. LIGHT BULBS, Residents can take their residential compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs/ballasts to Veolia Environmental Services, W124 N9451 Boundary Rd. (124 th Street), a resident I.D. is required. Home Depot, 502-9840 is a retailer known to accept CFL bulbs/ballasts. Batteries & Bulbs Plus (formerly Batteries Plus) will take some bulbs also. Call to be sure they accept what you have. MATTRESSES, Call 1-888-960-0008 to schedule a bulk pickup which is on Mondays and free of charge. Only 2 items are allowed per week. Pickup days and rules are subject to change. If 3

you choose to recycle instead of sending to the local landfill, 85-95% of all mattress components are recycled. Call 920-248-9246 for hours of operation and fees. MOTOR OIL, Motor oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid and power steering fluid can be disposed of in the used motor oil drums located at the Good Hope Road and Water Street Garages. PLEASE NOTE: If anything other than transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid or motor oil is disposed of in these drums, the entire recycling operation will be aborted due to contamination with expensive disposal costs charged to the Village of Menomonee Falls. OIL FILTERS & BOTTLES, Can be disposed of in the dumpsters near the used oil drums located at the Good Hope Road and Water Street Garages. PAINT, All types of paint can be poured out onto cardboard or newspaper and dried or put kitty litter in the can to dry the paint. Most hardware stores also carry a Waste Paint Hardener which solidifies paint latex paint in seconds, $2-$3 per pack. Once dried, all can be put in your garbage. Be sure to leave the paint can top off and placed at the top of your garbage so that Waste Management staff can see that it is empty or that the paint is dried. The Household Hazardous Waste Site at the Orchard Ridge Landfill, W124N9451 Boundary Road/124th Street accepts paint but only lead and oil based. Latex paint is not accepted. Monday & Wednesday, 11am to 6pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm. All subject to change. Call to confirm hours and if they still accept what you have at 262-255-6655. PLUMBING FIXTURES, TOILETS, SINKS, Call Waste Management at 1-888-960-0008 to schedule a bulk pickup which is on Mondays and free of charge. Only 2 items are allowed per week. PROPANE TANKS, Most of the smaller tanks have purge buttons but may not purge completely. Improper purging can and will cause an explosion/fire. DO NOT put in garbage or recycle bins. All tanks may be accepted by the Waukesha Menards, 262-798-1911 or Amerigas, 414-483-3341, call to confirm. Also, gas grill type/size propane tanks can be taken to Blair s True Value at N48 W13530, 781-9021. $7 charge per tank or return propane tanks to where they were purchased for recycling/exchange. SMOKE ALARMS, Smoke Alarms can be mailed back to the manufacturer or research to see the age of the smoke alarm. Older smoke alarms contain a toxic chip that is not allowed in the landfill. The Menards store in Pewaukee accepts smoke detectors for recycling, 1357 Capitol Drive, 262-695-0664, call to confirm. Newer smoke alarms can be put into the garbage TELEVISIONS, Best Buy, N94 W16855 Falls Pkwy, Menomonee Falls, 262-255-2972 accepts up to and including 60 Flat Panel - LCD, Plasma, LED non-tube type televisions and up to and including 32 for tube type television, call for fees. All subject to change, call in advance. Goodwill does not accept any televisions any longer. Those not accepted by Best 4

Buy can be taken to Recycle Technologies, Recycle Technologies, Inc., 1480 N. Springdale Road, Waukesha, call 262-798-3041 for fees. TIRES, Car, motorcycle and average sized vehicles 1 ½ cents per pound with a $3 minimum. Larger truck and tractor tires are $380 per ton with $57 minimum plus tax and fees. Resident identification is required. W124N9355 Boundary Road/124th Street. Watch for the scale house on the west/left side of Boundary Road/124th Street. Call 262-253-8620 to confirm all. WINDOWS, Put in garbage but wrap sufficiently so that if glass breaks, Waste Management Staff cannot be harmed. Window glass is tempered and is not recyclable. Larger windows and patio doors should be picked up as part of the Bulk Pickup Program, call 1-888-960-0008. Larger windows should be taped so that if broke, most of it will stay together. WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID, Dispose of at the household hazardous waste site located at the Veolia Environmental Services, W124 N9451 Boundary Road/124th Street, call 262-255- 6655 for hours of operation and that they still accept. 5
