Operating Instructions MAXLITE RKT LED Retrofit Kit Description and Intended Use The RKT LED Retrofit Kit is a high performance LED Fixture upgrade kit designed to replace the original components inside 2 x2 and 2 x4 fluorescent fixtures. The RKT LED Retrofit Kit is suitable for office, school, hospital and medical facility applications. The panels are fully dimmable and compatible with building controls, motion sensors, timers, and daylight harvesting systems. The design of the panels produces an even, consistent shadowless light. The LEDs enable long life, high lumen maintenance, high CRI, and low maintenance, and are constructed without hazardous materials. Construction The LED carriage is constructed of sheet steel, providing heat sink and thermal control capabilities. Attached are four LED strips, constructed from FR4 resin boards, which are mounted onto the carriage with fasteners and added contact via plastic hold down clips. Provisions are also provided to mount the kit to existing fluorescent ceiling panels. Control With a standard integrated driver, the panels operate with a standard 0-10V wall control, (not included) for wall control dimming. Up to 20 panels can be linked to each master panel. General Safety Information 1. READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS. 2. Review the diagrams thoroughly before beginning. If you feel you do not have electrical wiring experience, have your fixture installed by a qualified licensed electrician. 3. All electrical connections must be in accordance with local codes, ordinance, and the National Electric Code. If you are unfamiliar with methods of installing electrical wiring, secure the services of a qualified licensed electrician. 4. Before starting the installation, disconnect the power by turning off the circuit breaker or by removing the appropriate fuse at the fuse box. Turning the power off using the light switch is not sufficient to prevent electrical shock. 5. Do not use outdoors. 6. Equipment should be mounted in location and at heights where it will not readily be subject to tampering by unauthorized personnel. 7. Do not use this equipment for other than intended use. 8. All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel only. 1. WARNING - Risk of fire or electric shock. Install this kit only in the luminaires that has the construction features and dimensions shown in the photographs and/or drawings. 2. WARNING - Do not make or alter any open holes in an enclosure of wiring or electrical components during kit installation 3. WARNING - Risk of fire or electric shock. Reflector kit installation requires knowledge of fluorescent lighting luminaires electrical systems. If not qualified, do not attempt installation. Contact qualified electrician. 3

Mounting 1. Remove diffuser, fluorescent tubes and all other internal components. Disconnect fluorescent ballast from power wires. 2. Use safety S hook provided to hang Retrofit Kit to the edge of existing fixture. Once secure, attach existing power wires to Retrofit Kit power wires (Black to Black and White to White). 7
3. Install the fasteners or self-tapping screws provided with the kit to secure the Retrofit kit to the bottom of existing fixture. The self-tapping screws should have a sleeve provided that helps retain them when put through the panel. They also hold the screw in place for one man operation of installing. 4. Reinstall fixture diffuser. 8
