SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING & WASTE DIVERSION SERVICES We are proud to have been at the forefront of single stream recycling and waste diversion in Chicagoland. Lakeshore Recycling Systems neither owns nor operates ways to reduce solid waste. By increasing the amount of recyclables we can recover from the garbage stream, we divert nearly 40% of the solid waste and over 75% C&D Facilties (MRFs) to be redirected. ELECTRONIC WASTE As of January 1st, 2011, disposing of electronic waste (E waste) in Illinois landfills is no longer permitted by law. Lakeshore Recycling Systems provides pickups for E waste as needed. We also accept E waste at our MRFs. LANDSCAPE WASTE Like E waste, landscape waste (grass clippings, branches, shrubs, etc.) are no longer permitted by law in Illinois landfills. Lakeshore Recycling Systems offers several options for landscape waste pickups. Our most common programs are our 96 gallon cart service, or our subscription/sticker service. One of our Customer Service Representatives can assist in identifying what will work best for you. BULBS, BALLASTS, & BATTERIES Lakeshore Recycling Systems offers several different options for the proper disposal and, when applicable, recycling of bulbs, ballasts and batteries.
