DoroBanti With a mission to create accessible contemporary furniture for retail markets across Europe, DoroBanti is the modern face of Romanian furniture manufacturer TehnoForestExport. Founded in 1965, as the sole exporter of Romanian timber furniture, TehnoForestExport was privatised in 1995 and now supplies traditional furniture to markets throughout Europe, Russia and the Middle East. DoroBanti takes its name from the elegant residential area of Bucharest near the head office and represents a bold new direction for its parent company, which, until now, specialised in traditional furniture. This inaugural collection of contemporary furniture created in collaboration with designer Leonhard Pfeifer gives the company a fresh identity and a new path for the future. Leonhard Pfeifer Creative director for DoroBanti s inaugural collection, Leonhard Pfeifer had a clear vision to create a range of contemporary furniture with a broad appeal. Working predominantly with solid timber and using a variety of naturalistic finishes to ensure the integrity of the furniture, Pfeifer summarises his inspiration for the range as utility, coherence, and elegance concepts embodied across the collection. Known for a well-considered, pared-down and elegant aesthetic, Leonhard says A design is judged as an integrated whole a fine balance where design and production result in a lightness of touch and grace. Across the range thoughtful and well chosen details bring the designs to life. Finely crafted joints, subtle curves and playful jolts of colour contrast with the natural wood.
