Consulting Engineers, Washington Portland, Oregon COMPANY HISTORY R.F. Neudorfer and Associates was established in 1970 as a professionally qualified mechanical engineering and test and balance organization. The firm incorporated in 1980, and the name was changed to Neudorfer Engineers, Inc. We strive to provide the best, most professional services of any company in our business, and have forged strong working relationships with both general and mechanical contractors because we make every effort to complete our work on time and with the least disruption to the client. Our reputation in the industry is excellent. Letters of recommendation from current and past clients are attached to this brochure. Our staff is experienced and skilled at providing air and hydronic systems test and balance services; sound and vibration-level measurement of heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment; cleanroom testing and certification; building commissioning; equipment startup; field engineering; and test engineering. We provide quality services for every manner of building project, whether new or tenant improvement, in both the private and public arenas. We have a great deal of expertise working in highly technical lab locations in the fields of biotechnology, cleanrooms, pharmaceutical facilities, research laboratories, nuclear facilities and hospitals. Most of our projects are located in the Pacific Northwest. However, by working in other areas of the United States, in South America, Japan, China, Guam and other South Pacific Islands, many of our staff have gained broadened perspectives and mental flexibility that make them more effective in their interactions with our clients in the management of their everyday jobs. The National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) certifies, Inc. Certifications include air and hydronic environmental systems, sound and vibration measurement; building systems commissioning; and cleanroom and cleanroom systems. NEBB is a non-profit, industry-sponsored organization established to upgrade and maintain uniform standards in our industry. Our certifications are the result of having successfully met criteria for length of operation; responsible performance; instrumentation ownership, calibration and maintenance. You can also be assured that our services are backed by the knowledge required to pass rigorous certification tests. In addition to having achieved numerous NEBB certifications, Bill Neudorfer is Chair of the NEBB Cleanroom Committee. He teaches testing and balancing courses at the University of Washington College of Engineering Continuing Education program; Testing and Balancing, and Commissioning workshops for the Washington State Energy Office; Cleanroom courses for the NEBB; and has made presentation on Testing and Balancing, Cleanroom Certification, and Commissioning for the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc. Consulting Engineers, Washington Portland, Oregon AIR BALANCING Balancing of the air distribution system and adjustment of the air moving devices, in accordance with National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) and Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association (SMACNA) Standards. HYDRONIC BALANCING Balancing the waterside of the heating and air conditioning systems, including pumps, coils, chillers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, condensing units, and boilers. NEBB Certified. CLEANROOM SERVICES Cleanroom testing and certification to ISO standards, IES standards, Federal Standard 209E, ASHRAE 110 testing, ANSI 510 requirements, testing and balancing, commissioning, certification, Project Engineer. NEBB Certified. FIELD ENGINEERING SERVICES During the construction phase, perform field inspection to ensure the mechanical and electrical systems are installed correctly, and are field tested per the design documents. These services include startup, commissioning, scheduling, training, and O&M manuals. PLAN REVIEW During the various design phases, plan review for various aspects of the design, which affect the air and Hydronic balancing, and cleanroom testing and certification issues. These issues include air volume damper and Hydronic metering valves, and pump pressure gauge locations, accessibility to equipment, test port types and location. SOUND-LEVEL READINGS Sound-level measurement with and without equipment running, to determine speech interference, hazards to hearing, and machinery troubleshooting. NEBB Certified. VIBRATION CONTROL Vibration measurement and dynamic balancing of rotating equipment to reduce vibration and noise generation and extend the life of the equipment. NEBB Certified. COMMISSIONING Perform the processes that assure that the mechanical and electrical equipment, controls, and systems function together properly to meet performance requirements and the design intent as shown in a composite manner. NEBB Certified. THERMAL IMAGING We are leaders in non-destructive testing with the application of thermal imaging. With certified A.S.N.T. Level II thermography, specializing in building heat loss, NEI is capable of identifying heat loss without any disruption to building operation. Thermal Imaging is a growing field in non-destructive testing of buildings, mechanical systems and electrical systems.
