Thanks to the experience of the charter member Francesco Farina, the company was founded in 1998. His experience comes out both from his knowledge about quarries and materials and from his experience on the international markets as commercial manager and CEO of many stone firms, not only regarding materials but also machineries. In its firsts years MGS has developed a network of clients mostly abroad. Our clients transform plates in final product, countertops, stairs, floors and so on. They totally support our economic philosophy which is not only geared towards the product supply but has also the aim to offer an information and research service of new types of colors, stones and finishes in order to provide the market with innovation, fantasy, opportunities and a grain of folly typical of who really wants to innovate.
Our core markets are USA, Canada and Europe, mostly Netherlands (where we have opened MGS Benelux together with a local partner), Ireland, England and Sweden. In the meantime our business interests moved to Brazil where the Galleria della Pietra was founded in 2004 thanks to a partnership with a Brazilian company. In the same year MGS USA was also established with the aim of relocate the retailing and to be as closer as possible to our clients, to their requirements and also in order to serve as better as possible the main commercial areas.
After the 2006 economic crisis the market has changed radically and the company has moved his focus in three main directions: 1- towards emerging markets such as Russia, India and China. Since then they have requested more and more upmarket materials and exotic colors; 2- Projects, High end with integrated services such as laying, measurement and development of technical drawings; 3- We have started to explore new markets such as the luxury shipbuilding industry, 5 stars hotel elevators, swimming pools and saunas thanks to the many kinds of different surface finishes that allow new ways of using the natural stone; We are able to offer those options because of our profound materials knowledge and thanks to our research capacity of new and exclusive colors.
In 2008 we realized our first big project, the Nine Square Hotel in Belgrade. Thanks to this project architect Isay Weinfield won the Wall Paper Award in 2006 and the Nine Square Hotel has been declared the 6 th most exclusive hotel in the world. Following we have realized many projects all around the world such as The Delano Hotel, the Hilton Hotel in Montenegro (in partnership with architect Krekic), The Nobu Restaurant in Quatar in collaboration with Rockwell Group and Boulus Group. We realized also many residences in Italy, Brazil, Russia, UK, USA and China using exclusive marbles and precious stones from all over the world and processed exclusively in Italy.
In these years we specialize also in additional services such as laying, measurements, consultancy on the use of the materials. With the aim to choose the most suitable stone for a place, with the most appropriate finishes for the intended use. We realize that is really important to assist our clients with appropriate treatments after laying in order to maintain the stone in the best way and to protect it from external agents.

Our new interactive website was launched in 2011. It allows our clients to choose and order our plates online and to be always updated on availability and new colors.
After a year of development, the new APP MGS Take a Look was launched in 2014. It allows our clients to have an idea of how could be the final result through default environments, applying several materials (there are about 600 colors to choose) to different locations. This app was made for architects and specialists who focus on a just in time service in order to develop their project as concrete as possible. We sell a dream that has a tangible project as final objective and to which we can be a part of (in all its development parties).
From 2013 has an important showroom in the permanent exhibition in Milan in Via Tortona 14, in its showroom SPAZIO CASA TEATRO in an exhibition at the forefront.
