Avoid contact with moving parts. To protect against electrical shock do not immerse cord, plug, or appliance in water or other liquid. Unplug from the mains outlet when not in use, before putting on and taking off parts, before cleaning. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. The cord supplied cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged the appliance should be scrapped. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury. Only use the accessories supplied by the manufacturer. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the work top, or touch hot surfaces. Warning: do not operate the Food Processor for extended periods of time. The maximum operating time should not exceed 1 minute at a time without a rest. Never operate the Food Processor when the bowl is empty and do not remove the bowl lid before the blades come to a complete stop. Do not touch the cutting blades or insert any object, such as knives, forks, spoons, etc in to the bowl while the Food Processor is in operation. Before using your food processor: Remove all packaging and check for signs of damage such as, misaligned or damaged parts, damaged bowl or base, damage to the blade or cutters or damaged power cord or plug. If you find any damage do not use the food processor. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION CAUTION: The steel blade and slicing cutter both have very sharp blades. Handle these components with caution. Ensure you keep your fingers clear of the cutting edges when handling these items. When not in use place the steel blade cover over the steel blade. Take care when washing these items, never leave in a sink or washing bowl with other items. Always wash separately. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION Safety interlock mechanism For your safety this Food Processor has been fitted with a safety interlock mechanism and will not operate unless correctly assembled. Please ensure the bowl has been pushed down firmly onto the base assembly and the plastic lever on the lid locates correctly into the slot in the base assembly. How to... disassemble the rotor mount The food processor is delivered with the steel blade and cover and plastic blade fitted to the rotor mount. You will need to disassemble these items before using the food processor. Slide the plastic blade off the rotor mount. How to... fit the drive shaft and bowl IMPORTANT: Wash all items apart from the base in hot soapy water before use. Place the base on a firm level work top away from sources of high temperatures or steam. Never place the food processor near or over a cooker or other heat producing appliances. Never place in a heated oven. IMPORTANT: Always ensure the food processor is not plugged in before assembling or disassembling it. 1. Align the drive shaft with the mount on the top of the base. 2. Push the drive shaft down into the mount on the base. 3. Slot the bowl onto the base as shown. Rotate the bowl clockwise until the arrow on the base is aligned with the padlock symbol on the bowl. How to... use the blades Your food processor comes with two types of blade. Steel Blade This is used to chop food into pieces. Maximum quantity 300g. Plastic Blade This is used to mix liquids or batters. Up to the maximum mark on the bowl. These diagrams show attaching the steel blades only. The same process can be used for the plastic blades. 1. Place the rotor mount on a solid level surface. Slot the blade over the top of the rotor mount. 2. Push the blade down until it locks onto the bottom of the rotor mount. 3. Slot the rotor mount over the centre post of the bowl. Important: You may need to rotate the rotor mount to get it to fully slot over the centre post. 4. Slot the lid onto the top of the bowl as shown. 5. Rotate the lid clockwise to lock it in place. Ensure the tab with a padlock symbol on the back of the lid slots into the recess in the top of the handle. 6. Put the food processors plug into a socket and switch the power on. 7. Wash the food you wish to chop and cut into suitable sized pieces. Slot the food into the feeder tube in the top of the lid. Slot the plunger into the top of the feeder tube on the lid. 8. Choose the speed that you wish to process your food at. 9. Once the food has been chopped to the consistency you require turn the power off and remove the plug. IMPORTANT: Always remove the plug before removing the lid from the bowl. 10. Twist the lid anti-clockwise and lift off. Pull the rotor mount out of the bowl. 11. Rinse any excess food off the blade and rotor mount under a tap and shake dry. Hold the rotor mount upside down and carefully push the blade off, keeping your fingers away from the cutting edges. Carefully wash the blade, rotor mount and bowl. How to... use the cutters Your food processor comes with two types of cutters. Slicing Cutter This is used to finely slice food. Maximum quantity 300g. Grating Cutter This is used to grate food. Maximum quantity 300g. These diagrams show attaching the grating cutter only. Follow the same process for attaching the slicing cutter. Care must be taken when fitting the slicing cutter because of the sharp blade. 1. Slot in the cutter over the post on the cutter disc so the ridge on the back of the cutter locks under cutter disc. 2. IMPORTANT: Always ensure the food processor is not plugged in before assembling or disassembling it. 3. Slot the cutter disk onto the top of the drive shaft. 4. Slot the lid onto the top of the bowl as shown. 5. Rotate the lid clockwise to lock it in place. 12. Pull the tab on the front of the cutter over the lug on the front of the cutter disk. 12. Grip the sides of the cutter and lift out of the recess in the cutter disk. 13. How to... use the liquidiser IMPORTANT: Always ensure the food processor is not plugged in before assembling or disassembling it. 1. Remove the drive shaft if it is fitted as it is not needed for the liquidiser. 2. Slot the cap into the liquidisers lid. Align the tabs on the sides of the cap with the slots in the lid, push down and turn clockwise. Once you have turned the liquidiser off, the cap can be removed and additional food or liquid added. 3. Slot the liquidiser onto the base as shown. 4. Choose the speed that you wish to liquidise your food at. P - Pulse: This will switch to 0 (off) when released. 1 - Low speed: Coarsely liquidised. 2 - High speed: Finely liquidised. 0 - Off: Liquidiser blades stop spinning. 5. After liquidising your food, turn the food processor off and remove the plug. Grip the base and handle and turn the liquidiser anticlockwise and lift upwards to remove from the base. 6. To open the top of the liquidiser, push the white thumb catch down and the lid will open. The contents of the liquidiser can now be poured or scooped out Wash the liquidiser out with warn soapy water. How to... clean your food processor Before cleaning your food processor always ensure the plug is removed from the power socket. The food processor and liquidiser should never be run with nothing in them, as this may damage the motor. Boiling water or extremely hot water should not be added to the liquidiser. Do not immerse the base, power cord or plug in water or any other liquid. All items supplied with your food processor, apart from the base, can be washed in warm soapy water. Never place any part of the fittings supplied with your food processor in a dishwasher as this could damage them. The base can be cleaned using a damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive cleaners or materials to clean any part of the food processor as it may damage the finish of the product. Never attempt to dry any part of the food processor by placing it near a source of high heat, such as a cooker or radiator. Always allow the food processor to dry naturally after wiping with a dry cloth. How to... solve common problems Problem Reason Solution You have plugged the unit in, switched the power on, selected a cutting speed, but the unit does not work. The safety lock on the bowl lid is not fully locked. The liquidiser is not fully locked onto the base. The plug fuse may need replacing. Check the safety lock on the bowl lid. Check the liquidiser is locked onto the base. Change the fuse in the plug. The blades or cutters are not working normally. There is too much food inside the bowl/liquidiser. Reduce the quantity of food inside the bowl/liquidiser. The unit stops suddenly whilst in use. The safety locks on the bowl/liquidiser are not fully engaged. Check the safety lock on the bowl lid. Check the liquidiser is locked onto the base. The bowl/liquidiser overflows whilst in use. There is too much food inside the bowl/liquidiser. The unit is not on a stable and level surface. This product is fitted with a 13A plug complying with BS1363 and is fitted with the appropriate fuse complying with BS1362. Always replace the fuse with one of the same rating.
