Glasswashers 352 342 The Benefi t Makers
the benefit makers During more than 40 years of business, we have produced more than a million industrial dishwashers at our two Italian plants, numbers that refl ect our unrivalled experience in this particular sector. Building on this experience, we have continued to develop competitively-priced innovative products for leading players in the catering industry, furnishing these with effective, consistent benefi ts for their business. Elettrobar can, therefore, claim to be more than just a dishwasher manufacturer: we are benefi t makers. Our company is fully aware of the increasing importance of environmental protection issues and has taken major steps in this direction, developing and patenting innovative technologies able to reduce water, energy and detergent consumption without impairing performance. We adopt extremely stringent ISO 9001:2008 certifi ed quality control procedures to propose products built to withstand even the harshest operating conditions. Our dishwashers are manufactured at forefront facilities both as regards workplace safety and protection and environmental impact, as confi rmed by ISO 14001:2004 certifi cation. With the aim of delivering increasingly energy and water effi cient products, we have examined each single phase of the wash cycle (washing, rinsing and drainage), pioneering and adopting technologies and methods that promote a considerable reduction in consumption while guaranteeing performance on a par with or exceeding that of conventional systems: EWT (Elettrobar Wash Technology) is our way of using 35% less energy to power the wash pump. ERT (Elettrobar Rinse Technology) is our way of using up to 20% less water for rinsing and therefore 20% less detergent and rinse aid. EDT (Elettrobar Drain Technology) is our way of reducing detergent concentration by a further 20%. In this way, compared with conventional models, a River dishwasher can consume up to 35% less detergent. 2
technology creators EWT Most losses of power occur in the deviator that separates the water directed towards the upper arm from that routed to the lower arm. Elettrobar s EWT simple, genial patented solution eliminates the deviator and has prompted development of the exclusive dual fl ow, double outlet pump connected directly to the arms. Power loss is eliminated, with a consequent reduction in pump power, i.e. consumption with the same washing force. The light, strong composite material high-tech arm requires less energy for rotation and guarantees optimal distribution of water. ERT With the ERT rinse system, no cold water enters the boiler during the rinse phase. Unlike conventional systems where temperature may drop by more than 20 C, the temperature of the water remains constant, permitting washing at a lower temperature: 78 C compared with the usual 85 C. During intake, the pump guarantees constant pressure while rate of fl ow is guaranteed by water supply via break tank. All these factors promote a considerable reduction to 2.4 lt per rack compared with the market average of 3 litres. EDT Conventional drainage systems use a gravity waste to drain excess water during rinsing. The clean water, which is lighter, fl oats on top of the heavier dirty water so that part of this, equal to 35%, ends up directly in the drain and not in the tank. The EDT system uses a pump to drain excess water from the bottom of the tank, where it is dirtier, prior to the start of rinsing, without wasting a drop of water. The water in the tank is cleaner, permitting use of a lower concentration of detergent. 3
benefits First benefit: performance Elettrobar s dual fl ow pump technology and hightech arm effectively reduce losses of power and of water pressure at the outlet of the pump until the water reaches the object to be washed; wash temperature is 60 C compared with a conventional 50 C. This generates three concurrent positive effects: more powerful soil removal, maximum effectiveness of the detergent promoted by high temperature and a reduction in cycle times while delivering the same results. Second benefit: green economy Water is a precious element, detergents are pollutants, generating electric energy disperses CO 2 in the atmosphere. With River, it is possible to really contribute to protecting the environment. Considering an operation that works 350 days/ year, washing 80 racks/day for two services using a normal dishwasher (20 lt tank, 0.6 kw pump, consumption 3.0 lt per cycle), replacing this with a River 362, for example, saves 120 kg of chemical products, 20,000 lt of water and 1,800 kwh. In other words, green economy. Third benefit: higher profits Saving water, energy and detergents means saving money. As suggested above, replacing a conventional dishwasher with a new River generates savings on running costs of Euro 700/year. This means that, during its service life, the dishwasher pays for itself. It is often claimed that dishwashing is only a cost: with Elettrobar you can transform it into a source of income. 4
Fourth benefit: ease of use The new, advanced interface of the River combines a high defi nition LCD screen with single-key technology, promoting ease of use (a single key, two colours) and complete access to information which, if necessary, can be shown on the display: wash program selected, wash and rinse temperatures, number of cycles performed, user alerts, error messages and much more, providing the information required when required. Staff training is very quick and possibility of damage due to incorrect use is limited. Fifth benefit: fast cleaning End-of-shift cleaning operations are certainly the most fatiguing and stressing for operators. River dishwashers are designed and constructed according to very simple, effi cient principle: as all points where food soil may be trapped have been eliminated, this does not accumulate and need not be removed. Other factors include fully moulded tanks, deep drawn rack guides, integral fi ne mesh steel tank fi lters, wash chambers without internal hoses. Also, the ProClean self-clean program will do most of the work. Sixth benefit: full optional River machines are complete with electronicallyregulated rinse aid and detergent dispensers, rinse pump, drain pump, soft touch electronic interface with LCD screen. All you have to decide is whether or not to install the ECS continuous water softener which protects the dishwasher against scale build-up and guarantees constant water quality and, therefore, washing performance, with automatic user-transparent regeneration. The user is alerted of the need to top up the salt by a message on the screen. 5
advantages of the Integrated System Bright, shining dishesand saving In addition to guaranteeing impeccably clean dishes, the Integrated System also offers various advantages in organizing the work involved which promote a considerable reduction in running costs. 6 ACTION No streaks or smears due to the combined action of demineralised water and special detergent. NO MORE Manual polishing. NO MORE Broken glasses. Reduction in labour costs, no stress caused by cuts and grazes, improved hygiene.
Reverse osmosis filter Impeccably clean glasses, without smears or water stains, can be obtained only using water with the right characteristics, i.e. with a conductivity of less than 300 µs. The cheapest and most certain way of achieving this level of purity is to use a reverse osmosis fi lter. The Elettrobar WS 140 system is compact and can be installed either horizontally or vertically, also above or below the dishwasher. Features include electronic control, bypass system and mechanical and external active carbon fi lter that can be easily replaced by the user. The prefi lter protects the semipermeable membrane against coarser impurities and, in particular, against chlorine present in drinking water. Yield is above 50% (less than two litres of tap water for one litre of fi ltered water). Elettrobar detergents Even the best conventional detergents are not effective at the low levels of conductivity typical of osmosis water. Elettrobar has, therefore, developed Prowash and Prorinse crystal, a detergent and rinse aid optimised for water with a conductivity of less than 300 µs. The detergents have been developed in cooperation with expert sommeliers to guarantee that not only taste but also swirling of the wine in the glass during tasting are not modifi ed. Crystal products are only part of the Elettrobar range of detergents which also comprises specifi c plate washing and rinsing products for hard water and soft water and also a specifi c product for washing aluminium pans and utensils. All Elettrobar detergents are furnished in packs containing four handy 6 lt (detergents) or 5 lt (rinse aids) bottles. 7
Glasswashers River glasswashers combine exceptional versatility of operation, excellent performance and particularly low consumption. Full double skin construction reduces noise levels to below 60 db and also heat dispersion. 8
Wash programs Ergonomics Soft touch closing of door with reduced opening force afforded by movement mechanism with non-linear damping springs and sealing system with labyrinth and gasket (both systems are patented). The rack guides in the inner door facilitate handling of even very heavy racks. Versatile installation The overall height of Elettrobar glasswashers is below the standard value of 72 cm (71 cm for the River 342) which facilitates insertion in any type of bar counter; also, the presence of the drain pump eliminates any restriction in positioning in relation to drainage pipes. River glasswashers are equipped with a wide range of easily selectable wash programs that are clearly indicated on the LCD display and which guarantee optimal washing performance, without waste, of various types of washware with different levels of soil. All programs can be completely personalised via software. Washing is carried out at 60 C and rinsing at 65 C, the ideal temperature to combine fast drying with minimum thermal stress on the glasses, guaranteeing long life. Three basic programs with a theoretical productivity of 50, 33 or 24 racks/h (352) or 40, 30, 24 racks/h (342). Proclean self-clean cycle lasting 4 minutes. Proplates cycle for plates lasting 1.5 minutes, washing at 60 C and rinsing at 78 C. Prosteel cycle for cutlery lasting 6 minutes, washing at 70 C and rinsing at 85 C (RV 352). Prowater cycle, specifi c cycle for glasswashers that use osmosis water. Pronew cycle for complete tank water refresh, permitting functioning of the dishwasher as clean water machine. The program lasts around 6 minutes according to operating conditions. 9
