Inadequate repairs can lead to considerable hazards. Should your device need to be repaired, please contact WAECO customer services. Set up the device in a dry location where it is protected against splashing water. Ensure that the ventilation slots are not covered. Electronic devices are not toys! Always keep and use the device out of the reach of children. The cooling device is not suitable for transporting caustic materials or materials containing solvents. Food may only be stored in its original packaging or in suitable containers. Only connect the device as follows: With the cable supplied (1 2, page 3) to the cigarette lighter in the vehicle or a 12 V plug socket in the vehicle Or with the connection cable supplied (1 3, page 3) to the 220-240 V AC mains supply. Do not pull the plug out of the cigarette lighter or the socket by the cable. 15

Safety instructions MF-05, MF-15, MF-18D If the connection cable is damaged, it must be replaced to prevent possible electrical hazards. Pull out the connection cable: Before cleaning and maintenance After use On boats: if the device is powered by the mains, ensure that the power supply has a ground fault interrupter circuit. Danger of fatal injuries! Disconnect the cooling device and other power consuming devices from the battery before connecting the quick charging device. Check that the voltage specification on the type plate corresponds to that of the energy supply. 2.2 Operating the device safely Do not place any electrical devices inside the refrigerator. Protect the device and the cable against rain and moisture. Do not place the device near naked flames or other heat sources (heaters, direct sunlight, gas ovens etc.) Caution! Danger of overheating! Ensure at all times that there is sufficient ventilation so that the heat that arises during operation does not build up. Make sure that the device is sufficiently far away from walls and other objects so that the air can circulate. Never immerse the device in water. Do not fill the inner container with ice or fluid. Before starting the device, ensure that the power supply line and the plug are dry. Danger of fatal injuries! Do not touch exposed cables with your bare hands. This especially applies when operating the device with an AC mains power supply. 16

3 Intended use Intended use The cooling device is suitable for cooling and warming foodstuffs. There is a switch to change between heating and cooling modes. The device has been designed for use with a 12 V DC on-board power supply socket of a car (cigarette lighter), boat or caravan as well as a 220-240 V AC mains supply. If you wish to cool medicines, please check if the cooling capacity of the device is suitable for the medicine in question. 4 Scope of delivery No. in 1, page 3 Quantity Description 1 1 Cooling device 2 1 Connection cable for 12 V DC connection 3 1 Connection cable for 220-240 V AC connection 1 Operating manual 5 Technical description The refrigerator can cool products to a maximum of 20 C under the ambient temperature (thermostat switches off at approx. +5 C) or warm them and keep them warm to a maximum of 65 C (MF-05, MF-15) or 55 C (MF-18D). A grid divider can be used to separate foodstuffs, e.g. bottles and fruit. The refrigerator is suitable for mobile use and can be carried by the recessed handle (MF-05) or with a folding handle (MF-15, MF-18D). MF-18D can also be used (horizontally) as a cooler (2, page 3). Its cooling system is a non-wearing and CFC-free Peltier cooling, the heat is discharged by a fan. The MF-18D allows you to choose between normal operation and fan operation (quiet mode). The device has an integrated mains adapter with a priority circuit. The device switches automatically to mains operation when the device is connected to a 220-240 V AC mains supply even if the 12 V connection cable is still connected. 17

6 Operation Operation Before starting your new cooling device for the first time, you should clean it inside and outside with a damp cloth for hygienic reasons (please also refer to the the Cleaning and maintenance chapter on page 20). 6.1 Energy saving tips Choose a well ventilated installation location which is protected against direct sunlight. Allow food to cool down first before placing it in the device. Do not open the cooling device more often than necessary. Do not leave the door open for longer than necessary. 6.2 Using the cooling device Like every cooling device, your cooler must be properly ventilated so that any heat created can be drawn off. Otherwise proper functioning cannot be ensured. Place the refrigerator on a firm base. Ensure that the ventilation slots are at least 10 cm away from the wall so that the heat that arises during operation can be drawn off. Plug the 12 V connection cable (1 2, page 3) into the DC socket and also into the cigarette lighter or a 12 V socket... or Plug the 220-240 V connection cable (1 3, page 3) into the AC voltage socket and connect it to the 220-240 V AC mains supply. MF-05, MF-15: push the switch (3 3, page 3) on the control panel to HOT or COLD to switch the device on. MF-18D: press the HOT button (heating, 5 5, page 4) or COLD (cooling, 5 2, page 4), to switch on the device. The refrigerator starts cooling/heating the interior and the appropriate LED lights up. Ensure that the objects placed in the refrigerator are suitable for cooling or heating to the selected temperature. 19

Cleaning and maintenance MF-05, MF-15, MF-18D If you wish to switch the refrigerator off: MF-05, MF-15: slide the switch (3 3, page 3) to the OFF position MF-18D: press the OFF button (5 4, page 4). Pull out the connection cable. If you are not going to use the refrigerator for a long time, leave the door slightly ajar to prevent unpleasant odours building up. 6.3 Quiet mode (only MF-18D) Press the MUTE button (5 7, page 4) to switch to quiet mode. The green LED (5 8, page 4) glows and the fan noise is reduced. If you wish to end quiet mode, press the MUTE button again. 7 Cleaning and maintenance Caution Never clean the device under running water or in dish water. Caution Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or hard objects during cleaning as these can damage the device. Caution Always pull out the mains plug before cleaning and maintenance. Occasionally clean the inside of the device with a damp cloth. Only MF-18D: empty the integrated drip tray at regular intervals (7 1, page 4) (can only be used when the device is used vertically as a refrigerator). 20

Guarantee 8 Guarantee Our general guarantee conditions apply. If the product is defective, please send it back to the WAECO branch in your country (addresses on the back of the instruction manual) or to your specialist dealer. For repair and guarantee processing, the following documents must be sent along with the device: A copy of the receipt with purchasing date Reason for complaint or description of the fault 9 Troubleshooting Fault Possible cause Suggested remedy Device does not function, LED does not glow. The device does not cool (plug is inserted, LED glows). Operation with a 12 V socket (cigarette lighter): The ignition is on and the device is not working and the LED does not glow. Pull the plug out of the socket and make the following checks. There is no voltage flowing from the 12 V socket (cigarette lighter) in your vehicle. No voltage present at the AC voltage socket. The integrated mains adapter is defective. The inner fan or the cooling element is defective. The cigarette lighter socket is dirty. This results in a poor electrical contact. The fuse of the 12 V plug has blown. The vehicle fuse has blown. The ignition must be switched on in most vehicles for voltage to flow at the cigarette lighter. Try using another plug socket. This can only be repaired by an authorised customer services unit. This can only be repaired by an authorised customer services unit. If the plug of your refrigerator becomes very warm in the cigarette lighter socket, either the socket must be cleaned or the plug has not been assembled correctly. Replace the fuse (5 A) in the 12 V plug (6 1, page 4). Replace the vehicle 12 V socket fuse (usually 15 A). Please refer to the operating manual of your vehicle. 21
