THIS UNIT IS SUITABLE FOR USE WHERE MAINS POWER IS SUPPLIED FROM THE NATIONAL GRID. THE B90/10/220H UNIT HAS THE FACILITY TO FREEZE UP TO 4.5 KG OF ICE PACKS IN A 24-HOUR PERIOD. TEMPERATURES IN THE REFRIGERATOR COMPARTMENTS ARE MAINTAINED AT 4 C WITH A TEMPERATURE DIFFERENTIAL OF 2 C. REFRIGERATOR AND FREEZER COMPARTMENTS ARE PROVIDED WITH INSULATED INDIVIDUAL DOORS, IN ADDITION TO THE MAIN CABINET DOOR. THIS UNIT IS SUITABLE FOR AREAS WHERE GRID POWER SUPPLY IS SUBJECT TO FREQUENT INTERRUPTION OF LONG DURATIONS (UP TO 48 HOURS). THIS MODEL IS CONSTRUCTED WITH INTERNAL EUTECTIC TANKS CONTAINING A LOW FREEZING POINT LIQUID. DURING NORMAL OPERATION THE LIQUID FREEZES. WHEN POWER IS DISRUPTED THE TANKS GRADUALY THAW RELEASING "COLD" TEMPERATURE TO THE STORED VACCINE MEDICATION & OTHER MEDICAL PRODUCTS. TEMPERATURES INSIDE THE REFRIGERATOR CAN BE EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW 8 C FOR UP TO 24 HOURS AFTER A POWER FAILURE. UNPACKING AND POSITIONING CHECK THE PACKAGE FOR EXTERNAL DAMAGE BEFORE UNPACKING. NOTIFY SUPPLIER AND TRANSPORTER IF DAMAGE IS FOUND. REMOVE ALL EXTERNAL PACKING AND CHECK CASING FOR DAMAGE. OPEN UNIT DOOR AND REMOVE SHELVES AND ACCESSORIES. UN-WRAP SHELVES AND SHELF SUPPORT CLIPS. FIT SHELF SUPPORT CLIPS TO GIVE DESIRED SHELF SPACING. UN-COIL THE POWER LEAD FROM THE REAR COMPARTMENT. MOVE THE UNIT TO THE DESIRED POSITION USING THE LIFTING HANDLES PROVIDED. LEAVE A CLEAR SPACE OF AT LEAST 75 mm BEHIND THE REFRIGERATOR TO ALLOW ADEQUATE VENTILATION. INSERT THE PLUG INTO A CONVENIENT 220 VOLT AC WALL SOCKET. OPERATION SWITCH ON THE MAINS POWER SUPPLY. THE COMPRESSOR WILL BE HEARD STARTING AND THE FRIDGE THERMOSTAT DISPLAY WILL LIGHT UP. THE FREEZER THERMOSTAT HAS BEEN SET TO -15 C AS PER FACTORY SPECIFICATION. DIGITAL TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER HAS BEEN PRE-SET IN THE FACTORY TO +4 C. SHOULD YOU NEED TO ADJUST TO A DIFFERENT TEMPERATURE, REFER TO THE CONTROLLER SETTING PAGE. LEAVE THE UNIT RUNNING FOR 3 HOURS TO ALLOW THE INSIDE TO REACH OPERATING TEMPERATURE. LOAD VACCINE PACKAGES AND ICE PACKS AS DESIRED. ENSURE THAT THE INNER DOORS ARE CLOSED WHEN THE MAIN DOOR IS OPEN. FREQUENT POWER FAILURES AND DIMMING OF ELECTRIC LIGHTS INDICATE POOR QUALITY ELECTRICITY SUPPLY.IF THERE IS ANY DOUBT AS TO THE QUALITY OF MAINS ELECTRICAL SUPPLY THE VOLTAGE STABILIZER SUPPLIED SHOULD BE USED. PLUG THE STABILISER INTO THE ELECTRICAL SOCKET THEN INSERT THE REFRIGERATOR PLUG INTO THE STABILIZER SOCKET. GENERAL LAYOUT AND FEATURES LOCKABLE DOOR CATCH FRIDGE COMPARTMENT FREEZER COMPARTMENT (3x) ADJUSTABLE SHELVES INNER DOORS LIFTING HANDLES FRIDGE ELECTRONIC THERMOSTAT FRIDGE THERMOMETER (TO BE USED AS A BACK UP VENTILATED DOOR FOR FOR ELECTRONIC THERMOMETER) MOTOR COMPARTMENT (DRAIN BOTTLE - behind ventilated door - TO BE FITTED WHEN FRIDGE IS INSTALLED ON SITE) ROUTINE MAINTENANCE DAILY PROCEDURES CHECK OPERATING TEMPERATURES OF REFRIGERATOR AND FREEZER COMPARTMENTS, RECORD TEMPERATURES IF REQUIRED. NOTE ANY EXCESSIVE FROST BUILT UP IN EITHER COMPARTMENT. 6mm to 10mm OF FROST IS THE MOST THAT CAN BE TOLERATED WITHOUT AFFECTING REFRIGERATOR PERFORMANCE. DEFROST IF REQUIRED. OPEN REFRIGERATOR INNER DOOR AND CHECK THAT THE FAN IS WORKING. WEEKLY PROCEDURES CHECK CONDENSER (RADIATOR) AND FAN FOR DIRT AND FLUFF BUILD UP. CLEAN AS NECESSARY. FOR CONDENSER CLEANING PROCEDURES SEE DECAL FIXED TO THE REAR OF THE REFRIGERATOR. (Attached is a Condenser Cleaning Schedule to be filled in) DEFROSTING DEFROSTING OF THE REFRIGERTOR ENTAILS THE REMOVAL OF ALL FROST AND ICE BUILD-UP FROM THE INNER SURFACES AND SUBSEQUENT CLEANING, TO REMOVE FREE WATER FROM THE CABINET. TWO METHODS MAY BE EMPLOYED DEPENDING ON THE FACILITIES AND THE TIME AVAILABLE. FIRSTLY REMOVE ALL VACCINES AND ICE PACKS FROM THE CABINET AND STORE IN A SUITABLE REFRIGERATOR OR COLD BOX WITH ICE PACKS. METHOD 1 SWITCH OFF AT THE ELECTRICAL SOCKET. DISCONNECT THE UNIT FROM THE MAINS SOCKET. OPEN INNER AND OUTER DOORS AND LEAVE UNTIL ALL FROST AND ICE HAS COMPLETELY MELTED. THIS PROCESS COULD TAKE UP TO 12 HOURS AND IS BEST ACCOMPLISHED OVERNIGHT. METHOD 2 SWITCH OFF AT THE ELECTRICAL SOCKET. DISCONNECT THE UNIT FROM THE MAINS SOCKET. OPEN INNER AND OUTER DOORS AND WAIT FOR 30 MINUTES UNTIL ICE HAS SOFTENED. USING A PLASTIC BLADED SCRAPER REMOVE ALL EXPOSED ICE AND FROST. Page 2

CLEANING AFTER DEFROSTING MOP ALL SURFACES TO REMOVE FREE WATER AND THEN DRY WITH A SOFT CLOTH. DURING CLEANING AND DRYING OPERATIONS, TAKE CARE TO ENSURE THAT THE REFRIGERATOR THERMOMETER LEAD IS NOT DAMAGED OR STRETCHED. THE EXTERNAL SURFACES MAY BE CLEANED WITH SOAP AND WATER OR HOUSEHOLD DETERGENT SOLUTION. DO NOT USE ABRASIVE CLEANERS OR ANY TYPE OF SOLVENT ON INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL SURFACES. AFTER DEFROSTING AND CLEANING REPLACE THE POWER PLUG AND SWITCH THE UNIT ON. ALLOW 30 MINUTES OPERATION FOR PRE-COOLING AND THEN RE-PACK WITH VACCINES. CHECK THAT THE THERMOSTAT SENSER PROBE WAS NOT DISLODGED FROM THE FAN. REPOSITION IF REQUIRED. SETTING THE THERMOSTATS FREEZER THERMOSTAT (SPDT) - Located in the motor compartment (at the back) THE CIRCULAR DIAL CONTROLS THE TEMPERATURE IN THE FREEZER COMPARTMENT. ROTATE THE DIAL UNTIL THE DESIRED FREEZER TEMPERATURE IS NEXT TO THE MARK ON THE OUTER RING, (-15 C IS THE RECOMMENDED TEMPERATURE SETTING) REFRIGERATOR THERMOSTAT THE REFRIGERATOR THERMOSTAT IS AN ELECTRONIC UNIT WHICH HAS A DISPLAY SCREEN. SHOWN ON THE SCREEN ARE NUMBERS AND SYMBOLS DESCRIBING:- THE REFRIGERATOR TEMPERATURE IS THE PRIMARY DISPLAYED VALUE. TO READ THE SET POINT PRESS AND HOLD THE "SEL" BUTTON UNTIL THE DISPLAY READS "ST-1" AND THE SET POINT (DESIRED TEMPERATURE) WILL BE DISPLAYED FLASHING. TO ADJUST THE SET POINT PUSH THE UP OR DOWN BUTTONS UNTIL THE REQUIRED TEMPERATURE IS DISPLAYED. PUSH "SEL" AGAIN TO SET THE NEW TEMPERATURE. THE SET POINT CANNOT BE ADJUSTED LOWER THAN 1 C OR HIGHER THAN 8 C. o THE CONTROL HAS AN ALARM BUZZER WHICH WILL SOUND IF THE VACCINE TEMPERATURE EXCEEDS THESE VALUES.
