CELEBRATION OF 20 TH HAI WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY THE UMMED, AHMEDABAD On the occasion of the World Environment Day-Prajabaran Divas 5 th June,The Ummed Ahmedabad team celebrated with community awareness & education,feel good factor to all the in-house guest by gifting seeds, offering seeds with an awareness note to all walk-in guests at the restaurants. The day started at 7.30 in the morning when all the hotel employees gathered at the main porch & walked to airport circle with a Environment Awareness poster. The people passing by on the street in front of the hotel were offered plants with the compliments of the hotel. A Small pouch containing seeds were kept in all rooms along with a letter of awareness & initiative of the Ummed Group. Later in the day, a plantation drive was organised at adjoining lawn of the hotel.

THE IMPERIAL SPREADS THE MESSAGE OF A GREENER EARTH THIS WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY ~ GREEN INITIATIVES TAKE PRIORITY IN THE HOTEL OPERATIONS ~ 5 TH June 2017: The Imperial New Delhi supported the theme for World Environment Day 2017 of Connecting People to Nature as promoted by Hotel Association of India (HAI). This year s theme invites us to think about how we are part of nature and how intimately we depend on it. It challenges us to find fun and exciting ways to experience and cherish this vital relationship. To make the associates and guests abreast about the importance of protecting the planet Earth, the hotel took the following initiatives for celebrating the occasion: Displayed responsive posters in guest and employee areas to promote the message of CONNECTING PEOPLE TO NATURE- IN THE CITY AND ON THE LAND, FROM THE POLES TO THE EQUATOR Organized a poster making and slogan writing competition for employees to highlight the key message: Connect People to Nature Distributed 200 planters amongst guests with the message Reconnect with Nature as you create your own green patch with this planter. Celebrate World Environment Day with us A poster in the lobby highlighting the Efforts on Sustainability A flower art installation was designed in sync with the theme of Connecting People to Nature. Mr. Vijay Wanchoo Sr. Executive VP and Executive GM The Imperial New Delhi expressed his views on the occasion "The Imperial New Delhi takes pride in joining hands with HAI, again this year to raise global awareness about the significance of a healthy environment and to solve various environmental issues by implementing some actions to protect nature and Earth, leading to a positive and healthy environment for all. We have always demonstrated a commitment to environment conservation, whilst providing our guests with experiences which will enhance the awareness and understanding of the environment like installation of solar panels for heating water in guest rooms, use of Roti maker in staff cafeteria and launch of Organic waste

composter. All these have helped in saving energy, reducing carbon emission of coal and has led to an organized waste management system. He further said This year in 2017 we have gone a step further in spreading the message of Connecting with Nature by distributing 200 planters amongst guests and generating awareness through a flower art installation at the lobby, all for the occasion. The Imperial key initiatives and significant efforts have been modeled to encourage healthy tourism and eco balance. Day 2-Green Vehicle Competition Green Vehicle Competition was organized on the first day. On the basis of Pollution Check & maintenance best green vehicle was announced.

The Suryaa, New Delhi Celebrated 20 th Annual HAI environment day on 5 th June 2017 under the theme Connecting People to Nature CONNECTING PEOPLE TO NATURE.

Following activities took place to enhance this day: Motivational green films were screened for employees in Annapoorna. Educated the staff to how to save environment. Staff took green pledge to grow more and more plants by writing slogans on bulletin board. Staff adopted one green plant to take care of it all through. On each plant it was written I own you. Rangoli was formed in lobby. It reflected two faces of earth one smiling with green trees and second crying with dry trees. All around green environment was created with green posters enlightening the incoming guests as well as staff to plant more and more trees. A special E- Bulletin was launched educating the staff to how to save environment.
