It is rapidly deployable and has a universal bracket to allow swift installation to any pole, column or building. QF283 MP8 Feb 16 Issue 1 National Grid - Case Study National Grid is an international electricity and gas company based in the UK and northeastern USA. They play a vital role in connecting millions of people safely, reliably and efficiently to the energy they use. They are at the heart of one of the greatest challenges facing our society delivering clean energy to support our world long into the future. Security of the network is a major priority. National Grid wanted to protect their sites using a thorough but economical method, and turned to a technology based solution. Following an initial site survey, Wireless CCTV was contracted to provide a bespoke proposal for perimeter security. This led to a quantity of the WCCTV Tower systems being installed across the sites. The towers are monitored from a central station, if any movement is detected it automatically generates an alarm back to the control room where an operative can view live video and can pan, tilt and zoom the camera to ascertain what caused the alarm. We have been impressed with the quality of products and services provided by WCCTV, they have successfully detected intrusion and prevented disruption to our sites, therefore preventing the disruption of electricity supplies to our customers. National Grid If an intruder is detected, an audio challenge can be issued by the monitoring station, if this does not dissuade the intruder then the police are contacted.
