Determines species to be collected across the Midwest for the Bank s restoration collection. Collects seeds regionally for the Seed Bank. Assists in creating and distributing promotional materials for the Bank. Assists in recruiting individuals and organizations to contribute to the Seed Bank. Land Resource Management Group/March 2006 Dec 2007 Restoration Ecologist Responsible for the ecological management of the Company s native habitat restoration projects. Assisted in the design and installation of the Company s native habitat restoration projects. Chicago Botanic Garden/Nov 1980 January 2006 Ecologist Instrumental in planning, implementing and interpreting the Chicago Botanic Garden's Suzanne S. Dixon Prairie Exhibit; a project unique in its scope and content. Responsible for the ecological management of the prairies within the exhibit. Initiated long-term vegetation sampling of several of the prairies to monitor change in the community, determine trends and ultimately select appropriate management strategies.

Currently developing experiments to identify the factors responsible for impeding the development of prairie communities on engineered soil environments. Curator of the Botanic Garden's woodland from 1980-90 (in addition to prairie responsibilities). Co-developed volunteer and intern programs to assist in the development and management of the prairie exhibit. Directly trains and supervises the volunteers and student interns participating in the program. Assists colleagues with ecological management strategies for the Botanic Garden's Mary Mix McDonald Woodland and Skokie River Corridor. Involved in educational programs featuring the prairie exhibit and other native habitats in the region.
