MAINTENANCE and CLEANING Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet and allow the appliance to cool before cleaning. When not used for extended periods of time, place appliance in plastic bag, away from dirt and dust and store in a cool dry area. Failure to carry out maintenance and cleaning may cause excessive build up of scale on the heating element preventing the unit from operating correctly. This may cause a false EMPTY water level warning and for the RED light to illuminate even when the water tank is full. Daily Maintenance: Remove water reservoir from base (d) and rinse it with warm water thoroughly a couple of times. Repeat this process every time before refilling the appliance with water prior to using. Wipe accessible surfaces of the water reservoir with a soft cloth. Remove the Aromatic container from the Steam Chamber (c) (Fig. 6). Using the Heating Cone release (Fig. 7), release the Steam Chamber (Fig. 8) from the Base. Wipe the Aromatic container, Steam Chamber and Removable Heating Cone (Fig. 9) clean with a soft damp cloth. H Fig.6 Clean the base with a soft damp cloth. Ensure the heater and heater chamber is cool before wiping dry. - DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or brushes. - DO NOT leave water in the Water Reservoir when the unit is not in use. This may result in bacteria growth in the reservoir. C Fig.7 Fig.8 G Fig.9 4

Weekly Maintenance: Thoroughly clean humidifier every week as described in Daily Maintenance. Remove the water reservoir (d), the steam chamber (c), and the heating cone (g) from the appliance and rinse all parts with vinegar water (25% vinegar / 75% water). Rinse thoroughly with clean water after that. Remove any residual water from the water reservoir. Fill the reservoir with a mixture of 25% vinegar (950ml) and 75% water (2850ml) and leave for 20 minutes to remove possible mineral deposits. Drain vinegar water and rinse thoroughly with clean water. Fill the heating chamber (e) with vinegar (50% vinegar / 50% water) and leave it to take effect for 20 minutes. Drain any residual water from the heating chamber and dry with damp soft clean cloth. WARNING: Do not submerge or rinse the base in water. - Do not use steel wool, scouring agents or abrasive material. - Dry all parts properly. - Reassemble the appliance as shown in the instruction manual. Disinfecting the Removable Heating Cone and Water Reservoir: Thoroughly clean humidifier every week using a solution of bleach and water (1 tea spoon of bleach in 3.8 litre of water). Fill the reservoir partially with this solution and let it stand for 20 minutes shaking the water reservoir vigorously every few minutes. Drain and rinse the reservoir with clean water until the bleach smell is gone. The Heating Cone, Aromatic container, and Steam Chamber are dishwasher safe. N.B.: Place on the top shelf of the dishwasher only. End of Season Maintenance: Thoroughly follow Weekly Maintenance directions above. Make sure all parts of the humidifier are dry before storing. Leave the reservoir cap partially loosened during storage to prevent the reservoir cap and gasket from sticking together. Clean the reservoir and base after a long period of storage. 5

Open room door gradually until condensation stops. Empty water level indicator lamp (EMPTY) illuminates Water overflows from the tank Water Reservoir is empty.
