SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: To avoid fire, electric shock, or injury, please follow these safety instructions. Potential Hazard Cause Fire or Electric Shock Improperly installed outlet or crimped wiring. Prevention Engage certified electrician to install 110-volt outlet inside vanity. Poisoning Ingestion of Chlorine (bleach). Ingestion of Household Cleaning Product. Prevent wiring from outlet to system from becoming damaged by bathroom materials that are stored on or around system. Keep out of reach of children. Chlorine is highly corrosive, may be fatal if swallowed. Follow instructions on chlorine package. Follow manufacturer s storage and handling instructions found on label. Many common household products may be harmful if swallowed. Do not pour harmful products down bathroom sink. Limit access to toilet bowl by children and pets, as some cleaning products washed down the sink will flow to the toilet bowl. TOOLS REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION Hazardous Gases The accidental mixing of common household products with chlorine can produce harmful gases which can be emitted into the bathroom. DO NOT pour anything down the sink except water. 2 Utility Knife Crosshead and Flathead Screwdrivers Pipe Joint Compound PRIOR TO INSTALLATION Plumbing Tape Prepare the lavatory vanity before installing the Sloan AQUS. Engage a certified electrician to install a 110-volt electrical outlet inside the vanity. Disconnect existing plumbing components between sink pop-up and wall drain. Drill one hole in the side of the vanity for discharge hose and electrical wire. Drill the 7/8 maximum hole on toilet side of vanity and as close to back wall and baseboard as possible to allow for proper coverage or tubing and wire. Trim the threaded tailpiece to allow 1¼ to extend beyond the pop-up assembly (see illustration). Use Teflon tape or pipe joint compound on threaded portion of tailpiece before repositioning onto pop-up assembly.
