Important Safety Instructions Important Safety Instructions When using any electric appliance, some basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and/or injury to people, including the following: Read all instructions carefully before use of the unit. Keep all flammable materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, paper, clothing, and curtains at least 3 feet from the front and top of the appliance. Also be sure to avoid contact with the sides and back of the unit. DO NOT operate the unit with the damaged cord, after faulty operation or when it has been dropped or damaged in any way. To completely turn off the unit, push the Power button and then unplug the air purifier. Pull firmly on the plug, DO NOT unplug by pulling on the cord. Always disconnect the plug from the power outlet when the unit is not in use. DO NOT wrap the cord around the unit immediately after use. DO NOT use this unit outdoors. Never position the unit where it may come in contact with water. DO NOT run the power cord under carpeting. DO NOT cover cord with throw rugs, runners or similar coverings. Keep the cord away from any place where it could be tripped over. DO NOT insert foreign objects to get into the air intake or air outlet, as this may cause electrical shock, fire or damage to the unit. To prevent a possible fire do not block air intake or air outlet in any way. DO NOT use the unit on soft surfaces, such as a bed, where the openings may become blocked. Always use on a dry level surface. Only use this air purifier on the floor. DO NOT cover the appliance while it is functioning in order to avoid overheating and the risk of fire. Use this air purifier only as described in this manual. Any other use not indicated by the manufacturer may cause fire, electrical shock or injury to people. To prevent current overload and blown fuse, do not use on an overloaded electrical circuit. An excessively hot or deformed plug or cord is not normal and may be the result of a defective electrical outlet. Defective outlets must be replaced before using the air purifier. Plugging the air purifier into a worn outlet may result in overheating of the power cord or may cause risk of fire. DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical malfunction on this unit. DO NOT use this appliance with an extension cord or outlet strip. Connect the appliance directly to a properly grounded outlet. Make sure that the plug is fully inserted into the outlet. Wall outlets may deteriorate in time so check the plug periodically for signs of overheating. Check that neither the appliance nor the power cords have been damaged during shipping. 3

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Using the Air Purifier Plug the cord into a 120V AC/60Hz electrical outlet. Only operate the air purifier in an upright position. Special Features Washable Pre-Filter: Filters large particles such as hair, smoke, and pollen. True HEPA Filter: The True HEPA Filter captures 99.97% of particles and impurities. It can capture particles as small as 0.3 microns; including smoke, dust, pollen, mold spores and pet dander. Easy light indicator to let you know when it is time to change it. Activated Carbon Filter: Carbon sheet collects large particles such as dust, pollen, pet hair, lint as well as odors caused by cigarette smoke and cooking. Sensors: This Air Purifier is equipped with a digital sensor that automatically monitors air quality for smoke and odor. Fan speeds will adjust accordingly. Simple Operation: This Air Purifier comes with a remote control and user friendly display for your convenience Automatic Shut-Off: Once the inlet panel has been removed there is an automatic shut-off feature for safety. Handle: Easy access handle to make carrying a breeze. Touch Panel Icon Description Color Change Filter Check When the True HEPA Filter is used 2000 hours in total, the indicator will illuminate. Smoke Removal Mode Filters smoke caused by cigarette smoke, organic decay and cooking. Turn on/ off the mode by pressing the Smoke Removal icon on the control panel or remote control. Odor Removal Mode Targets common household odors such as those from cooking and pets. Turn on/off the mode by pressing the Odor Removal icon on the control panel or remote control. Fan Speed Adjust the desired speed by pressing the Fan Speed icon on the control panel or remote control. While working, corresponding fan speed number will illuminate. Timer The timer option allows you to select how long the air purifier will run before it automatically shuts off. The hour options for the timer are 2 to 8 hours in two-hour increments. Night Mode When set on Night Mode, the display panel lights will dim and the unit will not go above low fan speed to help keep the room dark and quiet. Automatic Mode When the unit is in Automatic Mode, the sensor will automatically adjust the fan speed according to the smoke and odor levels and gradually adjust as the smoke and odor levels improve. Power Turn the air purifier on by pressing the Power button on the control panel or remote control. - Blue [2]: Working for 2 hours till shut-off - Blue [4]: Working for 4 hours till shut-off - Blue [6]: Working for 6 hours till shut-off - Blue [8]: Working for 8 hours till shut-off - Blue: Working - Light Off: Not Working - Blue: Working - Light Off: Not working - Blue: Working - Light Off: Not working Remote Control The Remote Control will work identically to the Air Purifier. The battery for the remote control is a CR2025 which is already installed. Power Button: Press to turn the air purifier On and Off. Fan Speed: Press to select desired speed. Timer: Press to select from timer hour settings 2 hr., 4 hr., 6 hr. or 8 hr. increments. The air purifier will run for the selected number of hours and then shut off. Night: Press to dim the panel lights and the unit will not go above low fan speed to help keep the room dark and quiet. Automatic: Press to automatically sense the air quality and adjust the fan speed accordingly. Smoke Removal: Press to filter smoke caused by cigarette smoke, organic decay and cooking. Odor Removal: Press to filter common household odors such as those from cooking and pets. 6

CARE AND MAINTENANCE Filter Changing Instructions 1. Remove the front panel by grabbing the outer, bottom edges and gently pulling it towards you. 2. The filters should be in the following order, left to right: Activated Carbon Filter, True HEPA Filter and then the Pre-Filter. NOTE: You will see the Pre-Filter first when removing the front panel. 3. Replace the front panel by gently locking the outer, upper edges of the panel to the unit. Next gently push the bottom of the panel until it snaps in place at the bottom. 7

Maintenance It is recommended to clean the air purifier once every 3 months and before extended storage. Be sure to only use a soft, dry cloth to clean the external surfaces. DO NOT USE ANY CHEMICAL SOLUTION to clean the unit. 8

WARRANTY CONDITIONS Limited Warranty Haverhill warrants each new Air Purifier to be free from defects in material and workmanship and agrees to remedy any such defect or to furnish a new part(s) (at the company s option) for any part(s) of the unit that has failed during the warranty period. Parts and labor expenses are covered on this unit for a period of two years after the date of purchase. A copy of the dated sales receipt/ invoice is required to receive warranty service, replacement or refund. This warranty covers appliances in use within the contiguous United States, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The warranty does not cover the following: Damages due to shipping damage or improper installation Damages due to misuse or abuse Content losses due to failure of the unit Repairs performed by unauthorized service agents Unauthorized service calls Replacement or resetting of house fuses or circuit breakers Failure of this product if used in ways other than its intended purpose Disposal costs for any failed unit(s) not returned to our factory Any delivery or installation costs incurred as the result of a unit that fails to perform as specified Expenses for travel and transportation for product service if your appliance is located in a remote area where service by an authorized service technician is not available The removal and reinstallation of your appliance if it is installed in an inaccessible location or is not installed in accordance with published installation instructions Refunds for non-repairable products are limited to the price paid for the unit per the sales receipt. This warranty is non-transferable. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and does not extend to any subsequent owner(s). Limitations of Remedies and Exclusions Product repair in accordance with the terms herein, is your sole and exclusive remedy under this limited warranty. Any and all implied warranties including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are hereby limited to one year or the shortest period allowed by law. Haverhill is not liable for incidental or consequential damages and no representative or person is authorized to assume for us any other liability in connection with the sale of this product. Under no circumstances is the consumer permitted to return this unit to the factory without the prior written consent of Haverhill.
