Security Made Smarter Smart Home Outdoor Siren QUICK START GUIDE EN 1

Welcome! Thank you for choosing the Smart Home Outdoor Siren - the ideal addition to your Swann Smart Home system. Setting up the Outdoor Siren Due to the availability of different Smart Home Outdoor Siren models across regions, setup instructions may vary slightly by model. To ensure proper setup of your siren, check which model you have below, then go to the relevant page to learn how to add the siren to your Swann Smart Home system. See page 3 for setup instructions See page 4 for setup instructions See page 5 for setup instructions 2

The following setup instructions are for Smart Home Outdoor Siren models featuring a red strobe panel, as shown above. 1. From the Smart Home web portal, click My Settings > Sirens > add device. The System Setup screen is displayed and your Smart DVR/Hub automatically goes into pairing mode. Note: You can skip this step if the System Setup screen is already displayed (during the Smart DVR/Hub registration process, or when you are setting up other smart home accessories). 2. Remove the siren cover by loosening the locking screw located at the bottom of the siren. 3. To power up the siren, slide the ON/OFF switch to the ON position. 4. To pair the siren with your Smart DVR/Hub, press and hold the Connect button until the right-most strobe LED located below the battery compartment flashes once. When pairing is complete, the siren will double-flash. 5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup. 6. It is not necessary to replace the siren cover at this stage as you would need access to the mounting holes located on the inner side of the siren base during installation. Siren not pairing? ON/OFF Switch Connect Button If pairing is not completed within two minutes, switch the siren off, wait 30 seconds, and then switch it back on, and repeat step 4 above to start pairing again. 3

The following setup instructions are for Smart Home Outdoor Siren models featuring a side wraparound red strobe panel, as shown above. 3. To power up the siren, pull out the battery tab from the battery compartment. 4. To pair the siren with your Smart DVR/Hub, press the button on the back of the siren. The strobe LED flashes every 5 seconds until pairing is successful which is indicated by a double-flash. 5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup. 6. It is not necessary to replace the siren cover at this stage as during installation you would require access to the mounting holes located on the inner side of the siren base. Siren not pairing? If pairing is not completed within two minutes, press and hold the button on the back of the siren for 10 seconds until the strobe LED turns solid and then flashes twice. The siren will reset and attempt to pair with the Smart DVR/Hub again. 4

The following setup instructions are for Smart Home Outdoor Siren models featuring a blue strobe panel, as shown above. 2. Remove the siren cover by unscrewing the six screws on the back of the siren. 3. To power up the siren, pull out the battery tab from the battery compartment. 4. To pair the siren with your Smart DVR/Hub, press the button on the back of the siren. The strobe LED flashes every 5 seconds until pairing is successful, which is indicated by a double-flash. 5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup. 6. Replace the siren cover. Siren not pairing? If pairing is not completed within two minutes, press and hold the button on the back of the siren for 10 seconds. The siren will reset and attempt to pair with the Smart DVR/Hub again. 5

Testing the Outdoor Siren Before mounting the siren at the desired location, it is important that you test the siren to ensure that it is within effective wireless range of the Smart DVR/Hub from the selected mounting position. CAUTION The siren is extremely loud! When testing the siren, protect your hearing by wearing earplugs, or stand at least 3 meters away from the siren. To test the siren once it has been connected: 1. Arm your Smart Home system in Away mode. Wait for the entry/exit delay (default is 20 seconds, unless configured differently) to be over. 2. Trigger the siren alarm using one of these methods: opening a door where an entry sensor is installed walking in front of a motion sensor 3. To turn off the siren alarm, set your Smart Home system to Home mode. Battery Status You can check your siren's current battery level via the Smart Home web portal. If low battery status is indicated, replace the siren batteries with fresh alkaline batteries. Be sure to follow the polarity markings (+ and -) shown inside the battery compartment. 6

Mounting the Outdoor Siren Note: Please ensure the outdoor siren is tested for connectivity before permanent mounting. Choose a suitable position on an external wall, as high as possible, where the siren can be easily seen and out of easy reach of any potential vandal. For Outdoor Siren models featuring either a red strobe panel or a side wraparound red strobe panel Secure the siren onto the wall through the mounting holes in the four outermost corners of the siren base using appropriate wall plugs and screws for the wall surface. Replace the siren cover. For Outdoor Siren models featuring a blue strobe panel 1. Remove the mounting plate from the back of the siren by sliding it off. (You may have to use a bit of force.) 2. Screw the mounting plate onto the wall through the four screw holes on the mounting plate using appropriate wall plugs and screws for the wall surface. 3. Attach the siren onto the mounting plate by first inserting the four slots on the back of the siren case into the mounting plate tabs, and then pushing down the siren until it locks into place. 7
