Ato Drain Valve AD402-A Series Transparent bowl gard Better environmental resistance: Transparent bowl gard can protect the inner bowl! Windows on the bowl gard have been removed and the inner bowl is instead covered with a polycarbonate transparent bowl gard. Now, even if the environment changes and the bowl is exposed to corrosive chemical or oil splash, the foreign matter will not stick directly to the pressrized bowl. This can redce risk of bowl breakage. AD402-A Crrent model Doble layer design Pressre Pressre Cracks may occr in a portion where the internal pressre is applied. AD402-A Series Working Principle: Float Type Ato Drain N.O. (Normally open) N.C. (Normally closed) q Bowl r Valve e Lever t Valve seat w Float i Tbe y Spring Diaphragm o Chamber!0 Main valve!1 Drain cock Drain Drain When pressre inside the bowl is released: When pressre is released from the bowl q, the diaphragm is lowered by the spring y. The seal at the main valve!0 is interrpted, and the otside air flows inside the bowl q throgh the chamber o and the drain cock!1. Therefore, if there is an accmlation of condensate in the bowl q, it will drain ot throgh the drain cock. When pressre is applied inside the bowl: When pressre inside the bowl is 0.1 MPa or higher, the force of the diaphragm srpasses the force of the spring y, and the diaphragm goes p. This pshes the main valve!0 p so that it creates a seal, and the inside of the bowl q is sht off from the otside air. If there is no accmlation of condensate in the bowl q at this time, the float w will be plled down by its own weight, casing the valve r, which is connected to the lever e, to seal the valve seat t. When there is an accmlation of condensate in the bowl: The float w rises de to its own boyancy and the seal at the valve seat t is interrpted. This allows the pressre inside the bowl q to enter the tbe i. The reslt is that the combined pressre inside the tbe i and the force of the spring y lowers the diaphragm. This cases the seal at the main valve!0 to be interrpted, and the accmlated condensate in the bowl q drains ot throgh the drain cock!1. Trning the drain cock!1 manally conterclockwise rises the drain cock!1, which pshes open the seal created by the main valve!0, ths allowing the condensate to drain ot. When pressre inside the bowl is released: Even when pressre inside the bowl q is released, the spring y keeps the diaphragm in its pward position. This keeps the seal created by the main valve!0 in place; ths, the inside of the bowl q is sht off from the otside air. Therefore, even if there is an accmlation of condensate in the bowl q, it will not drain ot. When pressre is applied inside the bowl: Even when pressre is applied inside the bowl q, the combined force of the spring y and the pressre inside the bowl q keeps the diaphragm in its pward position. This maintains the seal created by the main valve!0 in place; ths, the inside of the bowl q is sht off from the otside air. The reslt is that the pressre inside the tbe i srpasses the force of the spring y and pshes the diaphragm downward. This cases the seal at the main valve!0 to be interrpted and the accmlated condensate in the bowl q drains ot throgh the drain cock!1. Trning the drain cock!1 manally conterclockwise rises the drain cock!1, which pshes open the seal created by the main valve!0, ths allowing the condensate to drain ot. 5

Ato Drain Valve AD402-A Series Operating State and Proper Use of Float Type Ato Drain Ato drain When pressre is not applied (After exhasting residal pressre) Before drain accmlates When pressre is applied When drain accmlates Minimm operating pressre Drain discharged (Open) Drain not discharged (Close) Drain discharged (Open) Float N.O. Operation failre will occr if a large amont of condensate rshes into the valve. Do not se the ato drain valve in sch environment. Piping 1. Hold the female thread side and tighten to the recommended torqe when screwing in the piping material. Insfficient tightening torqe may case loosening or defective sealing. Excessive tightening torqe may damage the thread, etc. If it is tightened withot holding the female thread side, excessive force will be directly applied to the internal parts, reslting in a prodct failre. Recommended Torqe Unit: N m Connection thread 1/4 3/8 1/2 Torqe 12 to 14 22 to 24 28 to 30 2. Preparation before piping Before piping is connected, it shold be thoroghly blown ot with air (flshing) or washed to remove chips, ctting oil, and other debris from inside the pipe. 3. Winding of sealant tape When screwing piping or fittings into ports, ensre that chips from the pipe threads or sealing material do not enter the piping. Also, if sealant tape is sed, leave 1.5 to 2 thread ridges exposed at the end of the threads. 4. For drain piping, se piping whose I.D. is ø10 mm or larger, and whose length is 5 m or less. Avoid riser piping.
