Gentex Environmental Management System (GEMS) In 1999, Gentex established an environmental management system based on the ISO 14001 international environmental management standard. ISO 14001 otlines a strctred management system to achieve and demonstrate sond environmental performance by controlling the impact that or activities, prodcts, or services have on the environment. In 2002, Gentex originally achieved ISO 14001 registration, and was again certified in 2017. This certification meshes with or Environmental Policy and establishes the fondation for or environmental management system and environmental health and safety standards. On the pages that follow, we provide an overview of the varios metrics we track to gage the environmental performance of or manfactring facilities. To help qalify these figres and provide a frame of reference, most of the metrics are expressed as a measre of nit (per mirror) prodction. mirror prodction 2012 24,193,934 2013 27,449,822 2014 31,079,818 2015 32,794,482 2016 34,650,669 millions 5 10 15 20 25 30 35 5 / 38

Energy and Climate Change Energy sstainability and global climate change are two of the most serios and difficlt environmental challenges facing society today.
