Do not use any crystal based solution in the SUT Cleaning systems as this might seriously damage the pumps and pipes. Any damages due to this reason can easily be verified and will be excluded from warranty claims.

Safety instructions and disclaimer mportant Safety nstructions: The system may only be connected to approved grounded electrical outlets! General provisions regarding the handling of electrical devices must be followed. Unplug the system from electricity before opening it! Repairs which must be performed with an opened and electrically connected system, may only be done by qualified and trained personnel! To assure the effective safety regulations and CE conformity only original spare parts may be used! Strictly wear protective gloves and goggles, when handling the cleaning solution! Never touch/finger the cleaning liquid unprotected! The cleaning liquid could be very harmful to your health! We do not take any responsibility or liability for any damage to persons, the system, or any workshop installations, which were caused by an incorrect handling or repair of the system! The cleaning liquid is not intended for human consumption! No animate beings or animals may be put in the basin or solution / chemistry. Never switch on the system without being filled with the solution RSK OF DAMAGE!!! Please respect the correct filling level: Approx. 5 cm (2 ) below the top edge of the basin (consider volume of prints!). Toxic or flammable liquids must not be used under no circumstances RSK OF EXPLOSON!!! Do not use any acid solution (ph-value less than 7), at the same time applying halogenides (fluorides, chlorides or bromides) from contamination of the cleaning parts or the cleaning liquid. The same applies for solutions containing table salt (NaCl = Sodium chloride) SELECTVE CORROSON!!! Warning notes regarding the cleaning system Never place (or let drop) any parts directly on the bottom of the basin Always use the basket! Never touch the basin content with unprotected hands. Never place any animals into the basin or solution. n case of questions please contact: Albert-Schweitzer-Straße 6 D-63165 Mühlheim-Lämmerspiel Germany Telefon: +49 (0) 6108 793441 Fax: +49 (0) 6108 793442 Email: info@schmitt-ultraschall.de nternet: www.schmitt-ultraschall.de 1

80 20 40 This manual describes the handling of the Cleaning Systems F-DWxx For the removal of scourable FDM support material using + Heating you need the F-DW15, F-DW20, F-DW55 or F-DW90 system. These systems are also available with additional Ultrasonic Sound (F-DWxxUS) The system is shipped with the following components: 1) system with temperature controlled Heating 2) Operating manual 3) Cleaning basin stainless special steel with mains cable 4) Basin lid stainless special steel 5) Parts basket stainless special steel, mesh size 8mm (0,31 ) 6) Cleaning concentrate Ready to use system When positioning the system please make sure the main switch is in the Off- (0) position. Plug the mains cable into a power socket which is protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFC) Conrol Elements with mechanical Temperature adjustment Netz Temperatur Pumpe 70 60 50 0 30 Main switch Temperature Adjustment On / Off switch for the pump = Pump (Flow) is ON 0 = Pump (Flow) is OFF Conrol Elements with electronic Temperature adjustment Netz Temperatur Pumpe Heizen C Kühlen 60.0 Relais SET Temperaturschalter TSM125 2 Main switch Temperature Adjustment On / Off switch for the pump = Pump (Flow) is ON 0 = Pump (Flow) is OFF

Filling the basin To fill the F-DW15 basin (15 litres) you need 1,5 liter of the SUT-1 Cleaning concentrate (= 10%). To fill the F-DW20 basin (20 litres) you need 2 liter of the SUT-1 Cleaning concentrate (= 10%). To fill the F-DW55 basin (55 litres) you need 5,5 liter of the SUT-1 Cleaning concentrate (= 10%). To fill the F-DW90 basin (90 litres) you need 9 liter of the SUT-1 Cleaning concentrate (= 10%). Always wear protecting gloves and goggles when working with the cleaning liquid and concentrate. Always fill at first water into the basin then the cleaning concentrate. 1. Fill the system with fresh water and carefully add the concentrate by dispersing it in the basin. The basin should be filled up to approx 5 cm (2 ) below the top edge. 70 Temperatur 60 50 2. Switch on the system and adjust the desired Temperature to 60 C. f your system is equipped with a mechanical temperature adjuster, turn the knob until 60 is underneath the marker. Once the temperature is reached, the green light next to the temperature control is switched off. Heizen C Kühlen 60.0 Relais SET Temperaturschalter TSM125 f your system is equipped with the electronic adjustment you can set the temperature at which the heating should be switched on and the temperature at which the heating should be switched off. Following we describe the LED indicators and adjustment procedures: Heizen = Heating is active Kühlen = Cooling is active (not used with the FDM-systems) Relais = The internal relay is switched on SET E 55 A 60 H 62 L 23 Pressing the SET button enters the Edit.Mode - showing the following menu steps: Menu Step N1 identified by the preceding letter E Here you can select the temperature at which the heating should be switched ON by pressing the buttons next to the up and down arrows. Set the value to 55 and confirm the selection by pressing the SET button. The display will switch to the next step. Menu Step N2 identified by the preceding letter A Here you can select the temperature at which the heating should be switched OFF by pressing the buttons next to the up and down arrows. Set the value to 60 and confirm the selection by pressing the SET button. The display will switch to the next step Menu Step N3 identified by the preceding letter H This step shows the highest measured temperature. The value can be deleted using the up and down arrows. Pressing the SET button takes you to the next step. Menu Step N4 identified by the preceding letter L This step shows the lowest measured temperature. The value can be deleted using the up and down arrows. Pressing the SET button takes you back to the normal display status. Pumpe 3. After the temperature is defined, switch on the pump (Pumpe = ) to activate the. 4. The heating system will heat up the liquid and keep the defined temperature. Now you can start removing the support structures. 3

Filling up the basin 1. Fill up the system with fresh water. You should fill the basin up to approx 5 cm (2 ) below the top edge 2. Switch on the Pump (Pumpe = ) to activate the. Washing out the support structure (de-support) The FDM support structure consisting of water-soluble polymers is dissolved in the system. Temperature, ph-value, flow and complexity of the parts influence the speed. Always wear protective gloves and goggles, when putting in or taking out the basket and parts from the liquid. 1. Take out the basket from the basin, insert the parts to be de-supported and place the basket back into the basin. 2. Switch on the main switch (Netz) and the pump to start the. 3. You can observe how the parts are moved around due to the impact. 3. You should check the result periodically by taking out the basket and visually and (if appropriate) mechanically test the progress of the cleaning. f there are hinges, manually moving these periodically, can speed up the process. 4. After cleaning, the parts should be gently washed under fresh water. A gentle brushing helps to remove small remaining mud areas if required. f the dissolving process takes considerably longer than after a new filling or the support structure does not dissolve at all, you should replace the liquid with a new filling (water and concentrate). The basin can be drained by the embedded drain valve. Consider your local regulations for the disposal of chemical waste. Replacing the Cleaning Liquid 1. To replace the cleaning liquid firstly switch off the Pumpe switch, then the Main switch Netz. 2. f possible allow the system to cool down to room temperature. 3. Take out the basket and put it aside. 4. Open the drain valve to drain the basin content (consider your local regulations for the disposal of chemical waste). 5. Flush the basin thoroughly with warm water (usually a mud level has grown at the basin bottom). 6. Fill the system with clear warm water (Close the drain valve first!). Switch on the Pump button and let the system cycle for some minutes to clean the pump and gaskets. 7. Drain the system again and proceed as described in the section Filling the basin on page 3. 4
