Heating houses with environmentally friendly, inexpensive, small scale firing has become a very attractive option offering a lot of benefits as environmental awareness has increased, energy prices have rocketed and modern, efficient combustion technology has gained a foothold. Burning wood, wood pellets and briquettes is CO -neutral and does not add to the greenhouse effect. Carbon dioxide is released whenever any biofuels are burned, but no more than is bound up in the growing biomass. The growth and burning of trees is all part of a closed circuit in which the carbon dioxide released by the trees is the same as that bound up naturally in the fuel. Biofuels are often to be found locally and require a minimum of transportation, and the natural formation of more product is many times greater than the amount we use. In addition, many countries these days have well developed subsidary systems when it comes to the installation of heating systems using renewable energy. Heating boilers: lots of options Wood pellets are a fuel produced from compressed biproducts of the forestry industry. Firing with wood pellets is of great interest from a financial point of view, and a good alternative to electricity, oil and gas. It is not quite as convenient as electricity, oil and gas, but it requires considerably less maintenance than wood firing. Firing with wood or wood pellets is now very environmentally friendly. The emissions in the flue gases from a well maintained system are so limited that this kind of technology is permitted even in densely populated housing areas. Wood or wood pellet heating boilers from CTC are also so convenient and easy to maintain that a minimum of effort is required to ensure the best environmentally friendly combustion. Replacing a conventional heating system with wood or wood pellet burning is always very profitable. These are designed for wood pellet firing, but they are also available with additional immersion heater which can be connected if the outdoor temperatures are very low or in the summer, when not much heat is required. Biomass heating Boilers Wood pellets a smart alternative Wood pellets are an environmentally friendly, CO ² -neutral biofuel made mainly from sawdust or shavings, dried and pressed into small, cylindrical pieces 6 12 millimetres in diameter. The lignin in the wood serves to bind the pellets together. Five to seven truckloads of shavings or sawdust are used to make one truckload of wood pellets. Wood pellets provide a financially interesting alternative to in particular electricity, oil and gas. And what is more, they are a lot more convenience than wood firing, because wood pellet heating boilers add and fire the pellets automatically. Tanks for wood pellet storage are required for wood pellet heating boilers. These tanks are filled either manually or by tanker. 3

The CTC 2200 has separate combustion chambers for combustion of different types of fuel. This heating boiler is available in three models: the Duo, run on wood, wood pellets, oil or gas; the Duo WT, with its built-in domestic hot water exchanger; and the Trio, which also runs on electricity. The CTC 2200 is designed to give the best possible performance, fuel economy and convenience. The CTC 2200 Duo WT has a built-in domestic hot water exchanger which produces sufficient quantities of fresh, legionella-free hot water. The efficiency of this heating boiler can also be regulated. CTC 280 A combination of options With a multi-fuel heating boiler, you make your own mind up about which heating technology suits you best. If you want a convenient but slightly more expensive system, oil or gas is preferable. Or, if you want to reduce your fuel costs as much as possible, go for wood. CTC has been manufacturing multi-fuel heating boilers for firing with wood, oil and gas for more than half a century now. The CTC 280 series has been developed to ensure the best possible fuel economy, combined with efficiency, reliability and environmental awareness. The CTC 280 has long flue gas ways for maximum utilisation. This makes it a very efficient boiler to run. This multi-fuel heating boiler also has a built-in percolation coil exchanger for producing large amounts of fresh, clean hot water. The development of technology has meant that a number of different locations are now possible. Not only are these heating boilers more efficient; they are smaller, quieter, have an attractive, well thought-out design and can cope with modern flue solutions. Modern flues help to ensure better combustion and improved heat economy. Thanks to its well thoughtout design, flow losses during boiler downtime are very small. CTC offers a number of different connections for flues. The flue gas way can either be conventional, where the intake of air takes place from the boiler room, or balanced, where the flue is made up of two ducts. A balance-flue system can also be divided, with the air intake taking place via a separate duct. Connecting a balance-flue system allows the heating boiler to be positioned irrespective of the existing chimney of the building, so permitting the boiler to be placed in an entrance hall or kitchen, for example.
