AUTOMOTIVE GLAZING. FUNCTIONAL. STYLISH. SAFE. Over the last five decades, glazed surfaces on cars have grown enormously. F. A. Porsche once said: Design should be honest and Good design doesn t follow fashion. It s more the other way around. As well as being functional, glazed surfaces have thus become creative elements in the styling of today s car models. They now do far more than just shield the car s occupants from the wind and rain. First impressions take less than two tenths of a second. So, far from being incidental, glass now has to be part of the overall design. And this is not all: it may have to be tinted, reflect thermal radiation, and serve as an aerial for the radio and even as a head-up display for the projection of vehicle data. Over and above this, the window must not release fragments when shattered. And, of course, it has to afford unobstructed vision. TROSIFOL can do all this. Even in cars. > What one invents, one does with love; what one has learnt, with certainty. < Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Maxims and Reflections

2014 Aquisition of DuPont GLS business including the products PVB interlayer and SentryGlass 2013 Start of production of a new automotive production plant in Troisdorf 2012 Market launch of the newly developed automotive sound protection trilayer film TROSIFOL VG SC+ 2008 TROSIFOL obtained certification to BS OHSAS 18001:2007. TÜV certification of thin-layer modules containing TROSIFOL SOLAR to ICE 61215:2005. 2003 TROSIFOL VG automotive PVB film was developed and launched. A new PVB production line was commissioned in Bor, Russia. 2002 TROSIFOL was certified to ISO/TS 16949. 1994 Launch of films with an asymmetrical surface for use in combination with IR-reflective films 1992 The second mass production plant for a film width of 3.21 m was commissioned and TROSIFOL was certified to DIN ISO 9001. 1987 TROSIFOL started the production of shade band films for windscreens. 1968 Development of PE interleaving film for PVB film 1953 The name TROSIFOL * was registered as a product name in the German Patent and Trademark Office. 1950 The American Standards Association made the use of fully tempered and heatstrengthened glass compulsory in certain parts of the car. 1939 The Ford Motor Company starts installing laminated safety glass windscreens as standard, total surface area 56,000 m². 1930s Invention of today s laminated safety glass containing PVB film INNOVATION AND EXPERIENCE * The product name TROSIFOL is derived from Troisdorfer Sicherheitsfolie, meaning Troisdorf safety film.

STYLISH. AND SAFE. Windscreens and side windows produced with TROSIFOL exhibit exceptional standards of safety, long-term stability, visual appearance, and protection from noise and UV light. For automotive glazing, TROSIFOL offers an innovative PVB film. TROSIFOL VG has been developed for all conventional production processes and satisfies the requirements of all relevant quality standards, e.g. ECE R43 and ANSI Z26.1. The film is available in all standard colours and as a shade band product. It is supplied refrigerated or with a PE interleaf. TROSIFOL VG excels with its edge strength, good processing characteristics and high moisture resistance. > There are moments in history, where a businessman, a technology and the requirements of people coincide by chance. < Craig McCaw

ENERGY AND LIGHT TRANSMITTANCE Automotive laminated safety glass with TROSIFOL VG or VG SC + has excellent light transmittance properties in conformity with the requirements of ECE R43 and ANSI Z26.1. The latter standard demands light transmittance of 75% for windscreen glazing and 70% for side and rear window glazing. The radiation resistance fully complies with the tests specified in ECE R43 (solar spectrum 10 W/m², 100 h at max. 50 C, change in light transmittance 5% from the initial value). physical data* Properties Test method Unit Typical values VG SC + Typical values VG FR Density DIN 53479 g/cm 3 1.06 1.065 Thermal conductivity DIN EN 12939 W/mK 0.2 0.20 Coefficient of thermal expansion ISO 11359-7 17JK x 10-4 2.2 2.20 Specific heat ISO 11357-4 J/gK 1.85 1.85 Surface resistivity DIN 53482 Ω x 10 11 2.0 2.0 Tensile strength ISO 527-3 N/mm 2 >20 >23 Elongation at break ISO 527-3 % >250 >280 * all values independent of film thickness
