DESIGO INSIGHT Viewing your system the modern way

Increase your building s safety Faults, alarms, manual intervention and control signals in the various signal colours can be identified quickly and reliably, displayed without confusion, and operated directly without time-consuming navigation. By integrating your fire & security systems, you can also increase building safety and reduce potential risks to building users and equipment. Reduce personnel and operating costs Uniform, user-centred operation of all plant in the building increases transparency, reduces maintenance costs and makes it possible to employ staff with only basic qualifications. Even unskilled staff knows what is required of them. Increase the motivation of your staff A well-designed display makes routine work easier for the user sitting at the screen, and reduces stress. This has a direct effect on staff motivation. Reduce training and familiarization periods The uniform display and operation of all systems in a building is easy to learn. MS Windows and MS Office users are in the picture right away. Even sophisticated HVAC applications in the building are transparent.

DESIGO INSIGHT Operation you can get to grips with * CITECT is a registered Trademark. Copyright CiTechnologies (Ply) Ltd. 1995 A modern building management system with computer-based operation is vital for the efficient management of your premises, and the means of display and operation is especially important. This is the system used for continuous monitoring, energy optimization and adaptation to the changing needs of users over the entire lifetime of a building. Convenience for the operator is a key factor in all these processes. Users need fast and direct access to a large amount of technical information, displayed in an easy-to-read form in a small space. They also need a firm grasp of all the equipment on site: so it must be possible to learn to use the system quickly, and be guided simply through the various programs. The online help system provides this kind of assistance at all times. The presentation and operation of all electrical and mechanical plant and DDC equipment must be uniform and easy to understand. But however impressive the functions, they are of little value if it takes a specialist to operate them. That is why we paid such close attention to making DESIGO INSIGHT easy to operate. The operating philosophy is the outcome of an analysis of numerous customer surveys, the collaboration of experts in various European countries and intensive consultation with members of the respected Ergonomics and Technology group at ETH (the Technical University of Zurich). All aspects of the operation of DESIGO INSIGHT are, of course, based on the Microsoft guidelines and recommendations for Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Office compatible applications. Powerful graphics system The plant graphics are created with the standard CITECT graphics editor from CiTechnologies. This gives the user access to an extensive library of graphics templates, basic symbols and HVAC symbols to DIN 19277, animated symbol configurations, and masks for operation. Project-specific solutions to meet individual requirements are created using the basic modules. Plant graphics are created and animated in the live system. Some key features Unlimited number of graphics in the project Central access to file server if required Fast graphics refresh feature Integration of any number of illustrations in various electronic formats Integration of CAD drawings Graphics may be any size, e.g. from a detail to a large-scale illustration with up to 4000 x 4000 pixels Outstanding graphics properties with options such as display/hide, change of colour, animated text, animated symbols, command fields, switches etc. A reliable guide to operation Time is money and neither should be wasted. That is why DESIGO offers a range of special features to help building operators, and guide them quickly to their objective: Clear menu bars Frequently used plant graphics can be defined as Favourites (as in an Internet Browser) and selected quickly and directly via the menu bar The user has the option of moving directly to the last selected plant graphics The Explorer can be used for direct selection of graphics by name DESIGO is a registered trademark of Siemens Building Technologies Ltd.

Electronic online help system Integrated access protection for complete plant graphics or plant configurations (read only, modify setpoints only, full access) Plant description can be saved directly behind graphics Direct printing, with header and footer on any local or network printer Dynamic display history (update channels) Save time The optically restful dark green background with its subtle grey DIN symbols and bright signal colours for special states offers a quick overall view of your system. This is supported by realistic animated graphics and reliable user guidance. All graphical elements are harmonized in size, colour and shape. The comprehensive copyright library helps with efficient engineering. Clear plant graphics, putting you in the picture quickly Benefit from electronic design documents The fully graphics-based operation of your plant is one of the key aspects of DESIGO INSIGHT. The informative, well-designed plant graphics were developed in accordance with clear guidelines, with the following benefits for you: Existing CAD drawings, photos, maps etc. can be imported directly into the plant graphics. They provide the ideal basis for the representation of individual room management, fire and security and remote management systems.
