RAPID The Rapid system passive infrared presence detector provides occupancy and light level information for the lighting control system. The detector monitors for occupancy within its detection zone, if the area is occupied the lights will turn on, when the area is vacated then the lights will turn off. An integral light sensor measures ambient light and if there is sufficient natural light then the detector will hold the lights off. Where dimming ballasts are used the detector light level is used to determine the light output, and the light level setting becomes the target light level. This detector is capable of controlling over a 5-7m area and is ideally suited to open plan and cellular offices. An optional infrared controller can be used to override the detector operation if required. DIRECT DIM Direct Dim is a ceiling mounted presence detector that offers presence detection and dimming control in one simple unit. A host of energy saving features are combined in Direct Dim to provide a simple cost effective solution to energy efficiency. Offering presence detection via passive infrared, Direct Dim provides a DSI or DALI dimming output in addition to a switched relay output. The dimming channel of the detector can be used to control the light output of luminaries that are fitted with dimming ballasts. The detector measures the overall light level in the detection area and calculates the correct output for the luminaries, to achieve a preset lux level. The two outputs can operate together or independently, allowing one output to be dimmed whilst the other output is switched. Two switch inputs are included to allow manual control: for example absence detection on either channel; dimming up/down; or override on/off. The use of a two position switch allows simple dimming up and down, rather than awkward single switch control. The detector can be set using either integral presets or by using a separate handset for more detailed functions. MICROWAVE PRESENCE DETECTORS MWS-3 Unlike fixed head sensors, the MWS-3 Multi-Sense offers a unique presence detection capability by using an adjustable sensor head. By changing the angle of the sensor head different detection patterns can be achieved for different area coverage. For example with the sensor head flush in the detector housing, a coverage of 8m x 22m can be achieved; ideal for open plan areas e.g. offices and classrooms. If the detector head is angled at 80 then a detection of 8m x 30m can be achieved, ideal for corridors and aisles. An integral sensitivity adjustment allows the sensor to be fine tuned to the environment. Added features of the product include a built in infrared sensor which allows the user to override the lights to on or off and a built in adjustable light level sensor which will keep the lighting switched off if there is sufficient natural light. On the absence version of the detector an additional switch input is provided for manual on/auto off. MWS-3DD Direct Dim is a ceiling mounted presence detector that offers presence detection and dimming control in one simple unit. A host of energy saving features are combined in Direct Dim to provide a simple cost effective solution to energy efficiency. Offering superior multi sense presence detection via microwave, Direct Dim provides a DSI or a DALI dimming output in addition to a switched relay output. The dimming channel of the detector can be used to control the light output of luminaires that are fitted with dimming ballasts. The detector measures the overall light level in the detection area and calculates the correct output for the luminaires, to acheivea preset lux level The two outputs can operate together or independently, allowing an output to be dimmed whilst the other output is switched. Two switch inputs are included to allow manual control, for example absence detection on either channel or dimming up/down or override on/off. The use of a two position switch allows simple dimming up and down rather than awkward single switch control. The detector can be set up using either integral presets or by utilizing a separate handset for the more detailed functions. MICROWAVE PRESENCE DETECTORS MWS-5 The cutting edge MWS5 series of compact microwave presence detectors are designed to optimise space within a luminaire. There are two sensor types available, the MWS5 which is designed specifically for mounting inside most luminaires and the MWS5/SA which can be mounted directly onto a wall or discretely on the ceiling. The flexibility of this sensor gives luminaire manufacturers and lighting designers the ability to incorporate presence detection into their design with ease. The unobtrusive nature of the sensor means the occupier of the space need not know the area is being controlled. COMPACT MICROWAVE PRESENCE DETECTOR NEW PRODUCT LUMINAIRE MOUNT The MWS5 has been designed to fit quickly into most types of luminaires. The presence detector consists of two parts: the sensor head and the power supply unit. The sensor head can be mounted in a number of positions depending on the type of luminaire: it can be mounted onto the gear tray cover using pre-moulded fixing lugs; a flange mounting receptacle allows the unit to be mounted onto the rear side of a diffuser; or the same receptacle enables the sensor head to be fixed through the front face of the fitting. The MWS5 can see through plastic so it can be incorporated into sealed fittings without the integrity of the fitting being compromised. The power supply unit, supplied in a low profile, ballast style housing, is mounted in the gear tray; power connections are push fit, whilst the sensor head is plugged in. Time, lux and sensitivity are adjusted easily via two discrete push buttons on the front of the sensor head. STAND ALONE (WALL OR CEILING) The MWS5/SA can be used as a stand alone presence detector. A flush fit ceiling clip allows the sensor head to be mounted into a ceiling tile; alternatively the sensor head can be mounted either on the wall or ceiling using the surface mount base plate. The power supply unit can be mounted remotely for easy access.
